There is a GLARING omission from this video. WOT. You have to check the throttle to ensure WOT at the carburetor is achievable after final adjustment using the method described in the video. If not the Kick Down/Throttle Pressure linkage could prevent the carburetor from reaching full throttle. I've seen this so many times it is the first thing I look at on any automatic equipped Mopar when engine power is at issue. I've found that putting the throttle at WOT position and then making sure the KD/TP linkage and the carburetor throttle pin/arm both reach maximum travel at the same point achieves the correct adjustment much more easily and directly. Other than that everything in the video is correct.
@JJ Hi JJ I had a similar issue, do you have the oem kick down or did you get the aftermarket cable type? I found that the cable type was way easier to adjust properly
@@maximuswedgie5149 I use all factory linkage. It just seems to work better. But there are situations where factory linkage won't work for whatever reason.
Thanks for the upload. Do I really need the special tool for the kickdown/throttle pressure lever, or can I hold the lever all the way forward while making the adjustment? I'm working on a '74 Dodge Monaco with a 440 and a 727, all original linkages.
