if you add solder it softens it so you dont have to apply lot of heat to it so you dont burn the board out i think he used some kind of alloy like low melt alloy which has a very low melting point once it gets mixed with the actual sold on the port it makes other solder low melt aswell so benefits 1 quick to remove 2 less heat 3 board not burned 4 happy faces
Repairman $80 dollars to do the job and possible not being able to do a good job, or just order the logic board for $ 75 and do it yourself. note that this guys did a pro job, most people will not care and most likely will damage your logic board.
Hi, Very good job. I am writing from France, so excuse me for my approximate English😉 I think I have a connection problem with my Samsung tab A (2016) SM-T580. I use to connect a USB stick with an adapter and transfer rapidly files to my tablet. It worked for a while, but now, not anymore. I checked with different USB sticks and different adapters, but it seems that the charge port does not recognize anymore that a USB stick is connected. However, I can charge my tablet through the charge port... 🤔 So I was wondering if you knew where it could come from. I watched your fixing of the charge port on the RUclips video, but I am afraid it would be too difficult for me to do it (in particular doing a solder). But maybe the problem is (hopefully) coming from another part of the tablet that I could fix more easily. I hope you can help me. Thanks in advance, All the best, knarf
well does it show on your computer try connecting it to your computer see if it shows up in your computer then try doing a backup and reset the tablet sometimes it works
Anyone know if it would be worth paying someone to repair a several year old galaxy tab A? I can get a newer one for $129 or even get the E for a little more. Just don’t know if repair is cost effective on such a cheap old tablet.
well it depends if you got lots of infos like pictures videos and all its worth it or if it was gifted by some body and u want to keep is as a souvenior then yes its worth it otherwise and tab a is not that bad it still supports apps and all and if its just the charging port i think its worth it good luck if it was 7 8 years old tablet i would think about about it
Hello, No you do need alloy to perform the repair. Low melt alloy allows you to remove the charge port at a lower temp and limit the risk of damage to the logic board from overheating. If you have any further questions please let me know.
Hi. What is the composition of the alloy used prior to removing the USB? Normal 60/40? Thanks.
I changed my mind about fixing it after watching this 😂
Quick question: why do you add solder to the charging port before removing the port and the solder afterwards?
Adding lead solder to the lead free solder first, lowers melting temperature

great job!
Hello sir, the tape you used to cover the gold contacts was that the sticky silver tape with white paper on the sticky side
I'm wondering this as well. What kind of tape is that exactly?
i thinks its aluminium foil tape mostly used by plumbers
Hi, when soldering the pins how did you get the solder on each individual pin only and not to touch?
flux my friend flux use alot of flux and i use heat about 400 to 450
I am able to charge the tablet, just not noticed any usb disk. So replacing a new fixer I might have it work. Thanks!

What kind of tape was used?
How come you didn’t do any new repair vids.
This fockers made this tablets almost impossible to fix. looks really difficult to do. guess is time to buy a new tablet.
do you need the alloy? what does it do? can't you just use the flux?
