of musical accompaniment. The result was a rendition that had more emotion laden penetration in it than
Adele's original. Her jazz roots allow her to perform heartfelt ballads in this way and it's evident that this
performance is equally good. There's just no way a 'Pop' singer, including Adele, can match this girls' intensity,
for I believe the only other singer I've ever experienced who could sing ballads to this level of heartfelt perfection
is the great Billie Holiday.

AB, when Angelina look down I felt she was loking at me setting in the front roll, Iwas an emotional wreck! The concert was filled with overwhelming love for Angelina, almost undescribable. Our barefoot Angel has blossom into a beautiful woman with an unmistakable voice like no other Artist today! For me this concert was a dream come true after follow Angelina's career from 7 years old to 18 has been a journey of Love!

I was there for both Vegas concerts. 7th row orchestra left and 7th row orchestra right. They were amazing. I was at the Portsmouth concert also, big difference. I started saving money for her next concert . Hey at 68 yrs.

@@louisegogel7973 First, the Portsmouth band had been hired from a Boston area music school. I believe grads from that school. They had very little time to rehearse and become familiar with Ms. Angelina Jordan. During the concert she had to stop a song she was singing. She told the keyboardist that she does not use backing tracks when he began to use one. They started over. They did not support her properly. They played like they were the main act or equal to her. As I stated before in another comment, it was like trying to listen to a songbird at an intersection of a large city during rush hour. The band for the Las Vegas concerts were hired in the Los Angeles area. Rob Christe was involved in recruiting them. He was also there for rehearsals, he was seen in videos taken during them. They were more experienced musicians at the top level. They understood that Ms. A.J.was the headliner and they were there to support and compliment her. Also with all of them living in the Los Angeles area, they had more time to practice. Big difference. Hopefully she will be able to use most of the same musicians as she has more concerts. Hopefully I will be able to go to more concerts.🙏🙂🖖

I so do enjoy your perspective on Angelina with you being in the profession. I still marvel at the fact that it appears nothing seems to bother her--ever. That is extremely difficult to do--esp. while you are performing as you have to "flush" an error immediately or it will degrade the rest of the performance not to mention photographers shoving cameras in her face when she was young. I used to tell my daughter (could have been a professional dancer but became a dentist), it is easy to have a near perfect performance where all goes well, I judge the individual on how they respond when something does not go well. Case in point the line in hero--when she forgets a line and covers it then proceeded as if nothing had happened so most people never even realized it occurred in the first place. I can say that her ability to do so is unmatched from my experience. Lord only knows how many errors she has made in her singing career she covers them so well and sounds so magnificent--as one said, her imperfections are perfect.
When you said she is just put together differently than all of us--could not be said better.
From someone who has watched this growth up close, I wish you well.

James always knocks it out of the park, I was there center stage row 7, I was mesmerized, she was so good the whole night was amazing and kudos to her band and back up singers. Great concert
There was a contestant on American Idol last night named McKenna who has a very emotional backstory about being given up for adoption by her birth mother and being raised by a wonderful family. Her biological mother was a gifted singer who died at a fairly young age. At the first audition, she met her biological family in person for the first time and she sang one of her mother’s original songs. Her biological aunt said it was like listening to a ghost, not only that,she looks like the spitting image of her mother. This all took place after her audition for the show and she got her ticket to Hollywood. So both families met in person for the first time that night, man you talk about tears flowing everywhere! Anyway, last night McKenna gets up and sings this beautiful version of When We Were Young, which has the judges (Lionel Ritchie, Katie Perry and Luke Perry) on their feet and clapping. Of course, the whole time she’s singing I’m comparing her to Angelina and realizing they’re not even in the same solar system. After the show was over ( the talent this year is really incredible), I found the video on slayforever of Angelina singing When We Were Young at Mattias Schoenaerts birthday party back in December (there are 2, one a rehearsal with a violin and a piano and the second with just a piano, just so I could remember exactly what it was that separated these two singers. Basically everything. lol ! Angelina basically sings from a higher level of consciousness, which is why she can penetrate a level of our own consciousness we are unable to grasp on our own.
I remember seeing the clip of them meeting! Wow what a beautiful moment that was. I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen in anticipation!

The show is insane with talent this year, it makes you realize what another level Jordan is on. Did you know that’s what her family called her when she was young?

She puts more feeling into every song she does than any singer I can think of. Her empathy is extraordinary, and paired with the most gorgeous voice on the planet, it hits deep in my heart, every time. I'd love to see Angelina and Adele on the same late night show chatting about music, singing, the industry, etc. I'm sure Angelina would be hugely excited about that, too, since she's a big fan (as she mentioned in "Angelina Jordan - 10 Years in the Making," which dropped last week). There are a lot of things Angelina could learn from her given Adele's tenure and stature in the industry. A duet gives me pause, though. Could be glorious if they were really working together, but their styles and tones are quite different so....
Today is my late Grandpa’s birthday. April Fools is always a special day and I know he would have appreciated hearing this song as performed by Angelina. Thank you and all of your like minded Arab buddies for these continuing AJ Monday reactions!

Years ago Angelina told in an interview that to her singing is the same as breathing is. And she was not joking: this song (and other songs as well) are proof of it. What a singer she is. And you are so right: it would be awesome when one day Adèle would show up as Angelina is performing one of her songs..... I wonder how angelina 's reaction to that will be, because she has so much respect for her. She told that in the documentary "Angelina Jordan-10 Years In The Making" which is released just 3 days ago. Angelina's mother was co-producent of it. I am sure you like it!!

Some songs fit a vocalist perfectly. This is one example. Truly amazing how I get lost in the story of the song when Angelina sings.

I don’t watch a lot of duets, but I saw a couple old (decades) duets recently. I don’t think anyone could duet with Angelina if they were singing the same part together. It would need to be something like a deep male voice harmonizing.

I would think that I would get use to it, but it never seems to happen. Every time, she just overwhelms me. Angelina is just that awesome. The voice, the emotion, her personal beauty. inside and out. And now sciatica! I wouldn't wish that on anybody, Boudy, but it helps me break away from getting too carried away with my affection for this young lady. I hope you're able to get some relief. When she was about 5 or 6, she would gather the sheets up immediately after singing, as the applause started ... so cute.

Glad you felt better after listening to Angelina sing. She's powerful medicine! I also noticed that she always looks down at the end of a song. In one of the video scans I saw a large paper taped over one of the floor speakers. Figured it was a set list. Makes sense. What an amazing evening for those lucky Angels!!!

Do the Hands and Knees Balance pose, the cat cow strength, the extended childs pose and the cobra every day. And any other poses you like. I promise you, you will feel better.

This was the 7 PM show and the band was off frequently, Angelina had to pause a few times for them to correct.. mostly when you see her look back... she never stopped and even joked about the band starting early on her song original Diamond where she took the blame for having " forgotten" she was supposed to start before the music. We knew the truth of it. I read somewhere they "corrected" everything so the 9Pm show,was much better.

We were at the 7:00 show. What an amazing experience.
Back to back 1-1/2 hour shows of 19 songs each with an hour break. Must have been exhausting but those who were at both shows generally said that the second show was even better than the first.

It sounded like the note played wasn’t the natural note that should have been played. It belongs in the key of the song (it is the same note played right before) so it does fit, but naturally I would’ve played a different note. But it’s a creative choice by the songwriter and after all it is a FANTASTIC song

Imo if the vocal style/ delivery when she was aged 13 was used for this performance at this venue , it would have been better . she seems to have changed her vocal style / inflections and imo it's not a natural progression but a deliberate stylistic choice . obviously people like it but i prefer the aged 13 vocal , it's more natural to me .
