I've been in a canyon near Moab on my bike during a heavy rain. The water dislodges rocks from the canyon walls that tumble to the canyon floor, some the size of cars. It's quite terrifying.
Why would it be terrifying unless you were standing where you shouldn't be. It's nature at it's finest. Gees

Trails in that area are often in narrow canyons, and flash floods are called that because of their unpredictable and sudden onset.
@@deere3321 are you being humorous or clueless?
Don't ride your bike in a canyon when there are heavy showers in either the forecast or recently.
It's on you to show sense.
Glad you made it out OK. 🍻
@@deere3321 Ever seen it rain at night? DUH
I've lived in Utah my entire life 67 years so far and never once had the opportunity to see the magic of waterfalls like this up close. It's truly a beautiful sight. To me it's like the Garden of Eden.
Moab was an evil place, literally.
@@Soli_Deo_Gloria_.The world is evil or good. It's what you make it.
I have watched boulders the size of a Volkswagen bug get washed down with magnificent force. Three Falls Canyon in Hurricane, Utah was my backyard for years.
@@Soli_Deo_Gloria_. How so? I use to live in Grand Junction and visited Moab.
@@peteshallcross787 Probably some bible malarky
I went to Moab for my first time last spring, it was absolutely stunning. To see, and hear, those waterfalls in person must have been awesome.
i've been there many times. i've seen T storms but nothing like that!
The scenario that has played out for millions of years does so for yet another time, and is so beautiful. Nature at work nothing less nothing more.
Another comment that has been typed out for millions of videos yet, this time was written well. A human at work, nothing less, nothing more.
@@securityconsulting7322 😂 👍
Made for an interesting rescue for Rory and @Trail Mater!!!
I grew up in Las Vegas. Every summer, we would go to Red Rock Canyon in the rain so we could see the falls. It was my favorite time to hike
Wow! That’s actually really pretty. Those waterfalls are just an amazing and very fleeting sight to see in the desert.
Unless you are caught in the water flow…but yes I agree it is an amazing sight.
I did'nt know it rained in the desert. Title says flash flood. How the fuck does the desert flood? Its a desert.
@@kgs_7186 the ground doesn’t absorb water well, and it also runs off all the rocks, also monsoon season.
Worlds largesr waterfall in africa appears after monsoon season there. It's quite a sight.
Absolutely stunning, I'm from Vancouver Island... I can't wait to visit this beautiful state one day....
Those waterfalls aren't usually there. It's usually just cliffs
I find your location pretty swell as well !👍
I’m from Utah and glad you like my state. Vancouver Island is itself stunning though!
You will love Utah! She is a state like no other.
Most beautiful state in the US in my opinion ...it needs to be seen in person..pictures will NEVER do it justice!!
Much needed
How lucky to be able to view this once in a lifetime spectacle.
Ah, flash flood season right on schedule! Beautiful to watch but dangerous to be there during this time of year. Yes, this is what created the canyon lands. This is some of the water to run through the Grand Canyon.
Incredible. I could watch an hour of shots like these; it’s shocking to see flooding in the desert
I am a Utah resident, but never been in Moab canyons. The video is breathtaking! But it is also how the rain in the desert can kill you! Especially in slot canyons and washes. Glad you were safe.
This is nature at its finest, not climate change !
Monsoon 's gives beautiful waterfalls .
Utah is gorgeous
GREAT video, reminds me a lot of my first "flood" experience on the Potash Road back in '92
Moab is so beautiful. I've done lots of hiking in this region. Mother nature is a beautiful force.
Been there, gorgeous! If you plan to go, please check with the local ranger station BEFORE you head into the canyon. Always know the possible weather conditions from rangers and know where high ground is just in case!! Travel informed!
Yes, and check weather 20 miles upstream, could be sunny in the park but raining upstream where that water could travel to you.
The earth doing her beautiful thing....
Lovely cinematography, whoever shot this!!
What an incredible and beautiful gift this water is🙏🏻
Nature is AWESOME. Thank you God
That is nice to see, lucky you captured it on film. Thanks for sharing.
Gorgeous (literally).
Nice!
That's awesome. The first time I've ever seen a fresh rain the water cleaning on its way. Dirty water falls cool. Thank you for sharing 😎👍👏
What a sight to see. I love Moab and this makes it more beautiful.
That was sublime, thank you.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing, that’s a true spectacle.
Truly beautiful and spectacular glad I watched thanks, sending my love and prayers always for you and family and all people. SJ
Beautiful, thank you for sharing!
Spectacular video! Thank you.
Spectacular views and falls. Thanks for sharing this
Wow! Absolutely gorgeous. Great photography too.
Very pretty, thank you for posting this video.
stunning and beautiful thank you so much for filming and sharing
I long to be in the canyonlands during a rainstorm. So amazing to be there for a lifetime precipitation event. Thanks for sharing.
You “long”? I didn’t think people “longed” anymore.
Wow so rad thank you for sharing this video 👍🏿
Incredible video! I hope everyone stayed safe.
Wow! Great footage! Please stay safe out there.
gracious.
Beautiful. Great video.
BEAUTIFUL!!
STUNNING! 😍
Beautiful!!
Beautiful!
Gorgeous monsoon season. Also dangerous. Thank you for sharing
What river is this water coming from?
@@henrykeller2776 No river. This just the rain. The part of the park you're seeing here is all sand stone, the whole park (527miles²/1366km²) is high (5000ft/1500m above sea level) desert. A lot of it has no soil, it is just bare rock. The rain has no place to go but form channels. The landscape is absolutely beautiful because it is carved by these rare rainstorms. On average the park gets ~9in/200mm of rain per year. It is a very dry place.
So glad to see another healthy North American monsoon season. The busted monsoon season in summer 2020 was very hard on the wildland plant communities. When the winters fail to deliver, the monsoon precip is especially critical.
Nature’s fury and beauty. Great video.
Beautiful.
Wow! Incredible vid!
thanks for sharing!
Stunning landscape. I would love to visit one day.
Pretty amazing...
These examples are repeated many times over to become the beautiful rivers they are . Surely they were steady flowing at earlier times in earth's history. Amazing footage.
beautiful
Awesome.
Great footage.
Good work!
I'm just glad they are getting rain fall
Beautiful area. All the creatures (except the fish) must be enjoying the refreshment!
Amazing footage
Wow that’s awesome. I’m going to Moab last week of September. I hope everything is okay.
Beautiful 😍
This is spectacular footage. It struck me that this is such a rare event but the shape of the landscape shows how water (and wind) has carved it over the millennia. The waterfalls look like they are supposed to be there.
Awesome. Wish I was there to see it in person.
I enjoyed your video! Moab is one of my favorite places to explore. I have made numerous videos on my adventures in the Moab area.
WOW 😳😳😳 how lucky to experience suck a beautiful event.
Spectacular
This is pretty rare. I was fortunate to (safely) see it this heavy once. It was so eerie and awesome (and a bit scary) to see a place that a few hours before did not have a trickle of water down the cliff or even a puddle in the canyon floor turn into monstrous waterfalls everywhere and raging rivers. It was like being teleported to a different land.
Hermoso precioso💚👌
Great video I sent it to my mom
Maybe all that water will eventually end up in Lake Powel or Lake Meed.
Great video
The place comes alive with waterfalls everywhere !!!
Cool stuff
Beautiful. Can be dangerous if caught downstream unaware of what's coming...but beautiful indeed. Mother Nature is awesome!!
Beautiful!! That's all
So cool
Beautiful flooded quarries!
I thought seeing in person the Grand Canyon was awe inspiring!! Wish I get to go someday...
Wow!
Like this it looks prehistoric like a movie set
Unreal. I felt like I was watching a terrifying beautiful dream!
People in Utah are so lucky. Imo it's one of the most beautiful natural states. I hope to move there someday.
Thats beautiful and terrifying at the same time I've been in a flash flood and yeah they are amazing and so damn scary.
I live in Louisiana. The only time I see Moab is in movies. Breathtaking.
I have seen oak creek canyon Arizona do the same. Way cool always in your memory
Mother Nature at her best!!
WOW!
That’s an example of how we have the Grand Canyon to admire.
💁🏿♀️GOD is AMAZING💯💜
Mother Nature is Amazing
Wow
Wow! Stopped going to Moab after the hoards showed up with ATV's. This is spectacular!
✌💞🤗 BREATH TAKING ,
Nothing but erosion & time carving out the earth, one rain drop at a time! So cool & very rare to witness in real time.
Love Moab, frequent visitor, have NEVER seen anything like this. What was the Colorado doing at this point? Thanks for posting.
Nature's at its best!
