Class of 11 dropping in to say hi! Looks like a lot of all-nighters and caffeine which brings back (not-so) good memories. And yet, everything seems different - I don't recognise lecture halls, and the food looks way to good to be from the imperial cafe. Keep up the RUclips channel!
I didn't know why RUclips recommended this video to me until I saw some interesting content. Perhaps a great demonstration on how advanced AI-based recommender systems are :) I hope you have enjoyed the deep learning course
Nice vid bro, those edits were clean (like your creps). Just wanted to ask - How'd you crack STEP? My Imperial offer for CS requires it and I've done some prep but I'm pretty nervous about how it'll go.
Your videos are great for someone who is not in the film industry!! This is very good storytelling. I just got an offer for JMC for next year. Maybe I'll meet you one day! :)
Hi Alex! Really nice video. I applied this year to study CS at Imperial so who knows? We might meet (if I get the offer that is). I have a few questions about the Imperial Computer Science interview. I know it might have been a while ago but any help at this point would be extremely helpful. During the interview, will they ask you to build a program using a programming language that you have mentioned in your personal statement? I have mentioned several in my statement (Python and some modules I learnt in the language, Java and C) and so I would need to learn a lot of content if I am to nail this. What were the programming questions like in your interview? Furthermore, several people in other forums have said that the questions they ask are similar to the Oxbridge interview questions but slightly easier. What would you say that they are similar to? Also, what sort of Maths is asked in this interview? Will I be required to brush up on my A level Maths and Further Maths content?
Hey man, really cool vids. I'm also wishing to get into Imperial College. You are probably so happy you got in :) Well done! I have a couple of questions if you don't mind: what course are you doing? and did you need further maths for that?
@@Mike-vj8do It's just computing, the something in brackets doesnt have an effect on your first 2 years of computing. Every computing student does the same thing in year 1 and 2, in 3rd and 4th year everyone has to chose from the same pool of modules, but you may have to take Machine Learning for example if you are on the Computing (Machine learning) course
Hey, I just had a quick question. Do u have any advice for all the computer Engineering students out there and what would you like them to keep in mind.
Hi Alex! Just subscribed and I'm loving the content :) Am I at any disadvantage since I did not take Further Maths A level, and would this impact my application? (I'm in Y12 at the moment.) I also plan to take a gap year, so would it be worth touching on any topics that would solidify my knowledge before I began the course? Thank you !
Hey! I don’t think it impacts your application that much, I wouldn’t worry about studying new stuff over your gap year just make sure your fundamental A level knowledge is still there :)
hey alex, love the video and I think you'll be pretty big soon, your vibe is amazing! I just wanted to ask what keyboard you recommend? why did you go for a full size keyboard and not something like a 68 key one? I'm going to start uni sept and looking to get a nice keyboard, tyia
Imperial Master's Students don't have YT pages. Damn. A quick question, you mentioned your classes are online due to covid, is that still the current situation? Online classes?
Do you think it is easy fot master student to get intership while their studing because i had no experience and which do you recommed germany or england?
Hi man, I don’t suppose you have any videos on your application process? I’m currently in year 12 and thinking of what to do this summer and in early year 13 that will give me an edge on my application and personal statement?
Your video was really insightful, and I’m working towards getting here. Unfortunately my school didn’t offer further maths but I am in year 12 studying Maths, Physics, Economics and Chemistry. Do you know what i’ll have to do to get in, in terms of maths or if I even have a chance? Also, are there any people you know who were in similar situations to me? Thanks!
I wouldn't worry about not having further maths since your school didn't offer it. You'll definitely need to get an A* in Maths and maybe take STEP 1 and/or 2. Arjan's answer is very accurate!
Hey, I love how you willingly use copyrighted music to increase the quality of your videos :) Just a question, what subjects did you take in your A-Levels and what grades did you get? I'm currently in year 12 hoping to do well enough to get into Imperial: I take Physics, Chemistry, Maths, and Further Maths.
Hey, dude your video is fantastic. I think I will probably go to IC next year. Also I am wondering if international students can do part-time jobs, and how's the payment?
Thanks! Erm right now a lot of machine learning libraries don't have GPU support for the new M1 chips, so i've been doing machine learning on windows instead of my macbook pro :(
Hey buddy Hi... I got some queries for you. Have been following your videos am a great fan. I would love to join ICL for my computer science program. I'm Luka from Kenya. Is there a specialization in software development. I can see that you are really interested in developing financial and fintech stuffs, i got my interest rooted in forensic science and semiconductor technology.... How do you strike a balance between your social life and academics. I can feel like CS is so demanding....work, coffee breaks, assignments, projects and internships? I love discrete mathematics and C++ as a language being that I attended college units for 3 years as an IT student after my high school though I didn't graduate. Do you think without A levels but with my experience and skillsets I may have a place at ICL in as much as acceptance ratio of 20:1 is really crazy and daunting
What's good man, thanks for motivation I'm studying CS in my country.. How much per day are u studying, and do u always learn after the new classes and presentations.. Have u ever been like 3 presenatitions in a row that u didn't have preview or sth like that? Thanks!
Hey, it depends some days i'm really productive others are just normal. I don't have many lectures this year because it mostly consists of independent work for my project
7:25 actually no brother me as a student specially in the same field i enjoy watching you studying .. so please fell free to make the video longer including those scens + can you drop you insta please ???

Love the background music really does make the video chill and calm
Thanks man!
“What you doing?”
You: “Pretending to ask a question”
“You can’t do that!” Cracked me up lmao
😂😂
Loved the vid, thanks for such a great insight!
Maybe i'll study Computer Science at Imperial next year, thanks for the video, great content ;)
Thanks aha

Thanks man! Honestly I just did lots of past paper questions and found similarities in the questions, good luck!!
mac miller intro cool af
Hey Alex! Great vid, just curious to know how can you afford to pay for studies and also afford the living expenses while studying? Thnx!
really well edited vlog man - those shoes were clean btw
Thanks man! I like your videos too

Why does Imperial call it computing and not computer science? I feel like the name just throws it off.

I’m doing computing and although I took further maths it’s not required!
@@AlexLiu1 Ah cool, is computer science the full name of the course or is it like computer science and then something in brackets

I use the Apple magic keyboard and got my mechanical keyboard for free, I dont actually know anything about keyboards I’m afraid haha
Great video buddy
Thanks bud!
Imperial Master's Students don't have YT pages. Damn. A quick question, you mentioned your classes are online due to covid, is that still the current situation? Online classes?
It acc depends on the lecturer if they wanna give their lectures in person or online, so its different for each module
Do you think it is easy fot master student to get intership while their studing because i had no experience and which do you recommed germany or england?
Would I benefit from learning any coding language before doing cs

That’s so cool wish I went to this uni too now !
I recommend!
