After covering about 1,000+ books at the library, here's a tip I learned that will make things easier: just cut a diagonal across the corner (so you cut a triangle off.) You end up with a mitered corner every time, with just one cut. Then just cut a truncated V shape at the spine (instead of three separate cuts.) Again, less work, but still excellent results.
I wouldn't glue in the flowers. That way you can replace the flowers for the different seasons. Great idea.
I was just wondering why you didn't just glue in the "pots" instead of the flowers.
Using the back of a picture frame with its stand is really clever!
Totally! I'm now thinking of how else I can use one of those. 🤓🤔💭
They always survive longest when frames and glass overlays don't, so I wish to repurpose if I can. ♻🧠💚
Great ideas. Beautiful results.
One thing I don’t understand that I see nearly everyone doing. They cut a shape out of the center of paper, fabric, contact paper, wallpaper, wood, cardboard, etc. instead of cutting it near the edge which would leave a larger piece that might be used for another project. In this video it only happened on the first project, but I see it on many art & craft videos. On something with a sticky back, I rough cut it, then peal the backing off, rather than taking the backing off the entire piece which wastes the scraps. Even small scraps can be cut into rectangles, triangles, etc. to create a quilt-like pattern.
Yes, I noticed that on the first project, too. It drives me crazy when that is done. Also, not on this video, but I've seen ppl make a bow for a wreath or to wrap a package then cut the ribbon ends to make them shorter. It is a waste of ribbon!
Yes. It’s so wasteful. Even if your supplies are inexpensive there is no need to be wasteful
Ikr! 👍
I liked the plain seed pots without the paint.
Subscribed!!! Thank you for getting to the point instead of talking about the obvious and being concise!!!
Absolutely love all of these! With the book one, I thought of covering an inexpensive notebook this way for a fancy journal!
Yes!! Those fancy journals are SO expensive, and I'm definitely a paper and pencil person!
I want to use that paper on piece of poster board and use as cover for a planner
I also like to cover inexpensive notebooks with a thin layer of batting, with satin over the top, to make a cute, puffy, satin cover.
Love that idea @@DarkFire1536
@kimberlyshelt I'm making my planner right now I can use the tiles in between the months. (My planner is 3 inches thick! But hey it's customized just right. on4823
Watching you cover books took me back to my school days.
Back in the day there were paper shopping bags. You saved them and covered the books then.
That was always one of my favorite things to do. I loved when the new school year started and we got our books assigned. I made the coolest book covers.
It was crazy it wouldn't have a book cover on my book we can get wrote up and suspended
@@pattiocon6075 yep, that was the good old days.
I remember books! Oh how I miss holding the written word in my hands and turning the pages! ❤
I so appreciate crafts that are simple. Not necessarily quick but simple enough to be enjoyable and appropriate for a very, very new crafter! Thank you!😊🎨🪡🧶
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Lol
I remember covering my books with paper bags. The local military recruiting offices started give out free book covers which we could use to cover our books.
I liked the ending. You showed each craft. I enjoyed looking at all of them to refresh my memory.
I would be lying if I said that most of these crafts don’t look “upscale” enough for what I need. But yours are ADORABLE!!! I can’t wait to try them all!!! My final child just moved out for college so the ENS was hitting pretty hard. Now I have something to do to keep my hands (and mind) occupied!! Thanks for sharing! ❤
We had book cover get togethers. Books, grocery bags and snacks. Today’s kids are missing out on some great memories.
Love the hack of taking the back of a picture frame to stack your recipe holder👍
All were very high end. Couldn't decide which I liked best. The tray handles gave the tray character.
The book holder is ingenious, I ❤ it!
I agree with everyone else…the books are the easiest I’ve seen and they beautiful 😍 I’ve really enjoyed all these crafts and I want to do them all 😅
You know you're good when your crafts are daughter approved!
Beautiful, simple and easy to follow.
I occasionally go to my local dollar tree and have noticed an increase in craft supplies. I’ll check for these wallpaper squares. Great channel. 🥰
Crafting tip: I always pick up a couple pkgs of lg puppy pads at Dollar Tree to use for easy clean-up. This really works great for epoxy resin pours too! Keeps your tables & crafting surfaces clean & protected❤
Great idea!😊
I use the disposable party table covers. I get the long rectangle table covers and cut off what I need to do my project. Very handy and saves money. 😊
You could also use junk mail (like grocery circulars, old newspapers, packaging, and whatnot). Reduce, reuse, recylce.. 🙏🏾💚
I really enjoyed your video. It’s the first one that I’ve seen. I don’t have the vision that you have so I appreciate someone who can look at a bunch of different things and put them together and make something beautiful. I envy you just a little bit. I’m grateful that you share your vision and show us how you make things that will make our lives easier and surround our lives with beautiful, unique, and useful things.
Thank you again!
I can't stop watching your videos!
Mam,
This is the first time I have ever seen any of your crafts I believe. They are all budget friendly and all made so well and it's so encouraging to me when steps are told and where supplies have come from. I so appreciate that. My Mom became ill in the winter of July 2020 and until she became worse I was still crafting when she took naps when we were together. As she became worse the enjoyment of crafts left me. My Mom is in heaven now and the itch to start making jewerly is coming back, sewing ideas and crafting in general. I love to work with paper and i make my own photo frames using molding with my miter box.
In 2022 I was given notice to vacate my Mom's home I was hoping to buy as it was the perfect home but, I was not given the opportunity to buy it. For close to 2 years now I have been renting a 610 square ft Flat in a registered historical building where nails and molly bolts are not allowed. I literally have a trail in all the rooms to get from A to B. I have donated almost everything I owned to keep all of my Mom's treasurers and she left me her bedroom set and dining/living room set. My goal of owning a house when I was 30 went out the window and 40 and 50. Salaries are low and rents and homes are hugely priced in the Northern VA area.
I have recently learned about a small house with a very tiny yard and patio going on the market on Sunday, August 6. I have been crunching numbers for 2 days and getting bank statements together and tomorrow my Dad and I after church are going to go see it. I am praying it will be God's will for me to buy. The 2 bedrooms are a wonderful size and the one room with built in book shelves would be ideal for fabric, card stock, jewerky supplies. The kitchen is renovated and it has its own washer and dryer. I have always said I wanted a shadow box home and a postage size stamp yard enough for veggies to be grown and my Mom's favorite flowers.
In my car today are a stack of books. This morning I went to the little libraries in the neighborhood but all were filled. Now I see your idea to cover them and wow, if I could get your same paper and I am able to buy this little home, a stack of books would look so very cool on the built in bookshelves. I also love prints with greenery. Months ago at the Variety Store near me I saw tissue paper with a similar print I have thought about off and on to decopage into 2 old glass vases I have but, the tissue paper is $6.
I am getting ready to take my first vacation with my Dad since the summer of 1986. He is 85 and I am 59. I never turn down overtime money at work and I have made a deal with him we will split the hotel money and split paying for all meals but, like I already do after church on Sundays when he goes to the men's room I quick pay the bill. He rarely lets me treat him.
I am excited to see your crafts today. I have a thing for trays too and my bathroom is nautical and if I am able to get this little house with the patio I want to make your round tray with maybe white nautical rope, a shell candle that I make and other lose shells from Sanibel I picked up when on a trip with my Mom and Sister.
As soon as I saw your cookie tray idea I thought that would be cool to make with magnets for some of my floral pins I make that I sell at craft sales. Then you mentioned magnets and I thought, "see, 2 great minds think alike".
Sorry for the novel and I hope I see you again.
Blessings,
Rebekah
I'm dying to know if you got the house!!
🤞🤞🤞
Something to think about, not sure if it's a thing available everywhere, but maybe you could get into a rent-to-own situation. You rent at market rate, but if you can't get the down payment together, you can save up while renting or even have a portion of each month's rent go toward a reasonable down payment. I think this would only be a private agreement between the parties, make sure you understand fully and consult a Real Estate Lawyer. Wouldn't hurt if you researched it online prior to taking the leap.
Good Luck!🍀
I’m praying that you got the house!! If for some reason you didn’t remember God has a plan for EVERYONE! I’m going to be 39 on August 16th and I dream of one day owning my own home but if I don’t then I know that wasn’t in his plan for me!! But I dream of all the things I would do if I had my own home!!
Happy birthday! I hope you are having an amazing time. 😃
@@zettiejoseph3616 awwww thank you so much!!

These will have me running to dollar tree tomorrow. I loved everyone of them.
Nice to meet somebody else who can't garden. I can't garden to save my life---everything I touch dies. But I also love crafting.
Ha! I've grown 4 cucumbers this summer, and I feel like a total success. Crafting is WAY easier. Have a great day!
Bet that sure makes it suck being your boyfriend 😅
All of the projects you have here are just too cute! Love them all
Absolutely love love love each and every single one of these crafts!! I have a hospital table that goes over my bed for crafting and I used the wallpaper to make it beautiful!! Great they come in small pieces! So much easier to work with. Thanks again! Hope you have an amazing day!!

Thanks for sharing those beautiful little projects! I’ve seen those wallpaper sheets at the dollar stores but didn’t think about how to incorporate them into my limited crafting plans but you’ve given me a few great ideas! 👍❤️
Enjoyed your video I like how simple and cute your projects are
For the pizza pan and jute, I saw a good idea somewhere. I always burn my fingers when using jute and glue. Dollar tree sells these pink silicone finger protectors. They are fantastic and if you are like me, no more burnt fingers!
Cute ideas! I really like the wallpapers at dollar tree. They have great prints.
Wow!! I really like the Book stack, Pizza Tray as well as the Mini flower pots. 😍😍😍😍
TFS! Have a Blessed day!!
Reminds me of how my dad covered our books with oil cloth. We turned in our books looking exactly like we got them.
I love thank you is not one that I don't like I like them all awesome job
Lavish, Brilliant, Extraordinaire❤❤❤
You're too kind :)
Your book cover technique is extremely helpful. I can't wait to hit the Dollar Tree.
The cookbook stand and tray DIY'S were my favorite
Love your creativity & style!
I have a little hack for the hanger holes. 💗 If you use your blade and make an X you can push in the extra paper and it leaves it nice on the front.
Absolutely LOVE your site and projects!! Thank you!!😊🙏
Loved the recipe holder idea!
Glad you liked it!!
Absolutely loved them all!
I truly enjoy watching your diy videos. Dollar tree crafts are my favorite.

Thanks for all the great ideas
Wow. Thank you so much for this fantastic video. I have a few sheets of that wonderful DT wallpaper that have been screaming for attention. I'm so happy to have these ideas and can start crafting with that paper! I especially love the botanical sign with the little peat pots. Also, the eucalyptus wallpaper really enhances a book when used as a cover. I'm on it! Thanks again, Amy, for these unique inspirations. Cheers! 💜
I love all of these ideas. Thank you for sharing with us! ❤
That pot craft could be a Welcomr sign....cute craft
Great idea!
I loved everything I saw on this video. Thank you so very much. I love crafts.
Thanks so much for these ideas. I can't tell you the number of times that I almost bought those wall tiles! 😅 I didn't know what to do with it! Now I know. ❤
This video is INCREDIBLE!! I am inspired to use at least half of these ideas! I love that it won't take up much space in my very small home to do these projects. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. This one! Thank you.
I like them all, thank you!
Love ❤️ your ideas, thanks for sharing
LOVE ALL THE CRAFTS, AND THE CCOOKBOOK HOLDER IS MY FAVORITE👍👍❤AWESOME JOB
Love all the DIYs you created. They all look lovely & you did a great job of illustrating how to do each one. TFS!
I loved all of these! Some Dollar store projects I've seen look really cheap and not worth the effort put into them. All of these were high quality 👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks so much! 😊
My faves are the key holder and the book cover. Those would be great covers for school notebooks, too, if there's a design your child likes from Dollar Store, or from other scraps.
Wow! 🤩☺️You did an AWESOME job with these crafts! Now I wanna go to Dollar Tree and get a ton of wallpapers and make some stuff! 😊
Beautiful all of them ! Good job !
Wanted to cover a book.and voila you showed me how to thanks all these crafts are great
So glad this video was helpful 😊
Last one for covering my teacher friends and prayer group ladies. Thank you for sharing.
What great designs.
I love the picture frame craft with the eucalyptus wallpaper that has a clothes pin on it. I will have to try this !
13:16 future reference to round corners use a cup / lid or the paper that came on the cookie sheet.
I always have hard cover books for decorating but never thought about covering the beat up ones with wallpaper. Love it🎉🎉🎉
ALLLLL the books for decorating :)
Pretty! I liked all of them. These are great ideas.
a good tip would be to not take the backing off fully when doing this. pell back one forth to one half of it and place it down where you want. Makes it easier to line thing up without having to worry it will adhere to the object fully without it being a smooth flat surface
Also, I’d line the piece up with on of the edges so I would only need to make 2 cuts and would have a larger piece left for more crafts.
Thank you for these wall paper ideas. I’ve bought several sheets in various patterns with no real idea on what to do with them. I appreciate your verbal instructions. They are easy to understand and follow. ❤
Love all of these! I had to create a new playlist “Dollar Tree craft ideas” because of this video! Thank you!
I really like the fun creative ideas you have. I love the second one and the pizza pan and cookie sheet craft. Thanks for sharing.
I loved all of your crafts! They're so pretty yet so simple. I mean they seem fairly easy. Thanks so much for sharing. Awesome ideas!!
Thanks so much 😊
I love all your ideas, God bless you ❤
Thank you so much! 😊
If you want the hole for hanging , perhaps a single hand held hole puncher would work?? 😀🌼
Thank you so much! All these crafts are very usable!😊
When we were in school, we used to have to cover our books in brown paper bags.. this generation unfortunately has grown up with phones, all electronic.. that text, book style is getting lost. It is very unfortunate.
I love them. I'm a DIY chick but always wanted to include craft... this is why helpful
Those all turned out really cute. I'm too much of a perfectionist, I would have had to center the blue paper on the tray.
We are using the DT wallpaper as the backsplash in our ambulance camper conversion. We wanted something bright as opposed to the tile look most people use. We are using the blue pattern on the top right of the display and we love it. It seems to be sticking well to the laminate walls. It also helps to hide the seam spaces where I had trouble lining it up due to a sore arm from a fall in May.
The 1st thing I subscribed to was (Van Life)! ... I want to do that so bad..Buy a Used Van n Build it out....An Ambulamce would be Best!...Idk If it's Ever gonna happen cause I can't work anymore...I had Cancer (I beat it) then had Bilateral Knee Replacements n then my Beautiful Daughter passed away sad 😢 💔...I'm Trying to get back to some type of life...I'm starting a DIY channel soon. I've been buying supplies every moth..A Lil at a time for over a year so I'm Almost there!... But Maybe IL be able to get that Van..or Better yet that Ambulance n Me n My Dog can go have some Fun togethet!! 🐶 ❣ 🚑...U Stay Safe n Enjoy Every Day as If it Were your Last! 🙏 🤲 ✌ ☮ 😎
Would love to see pics of your place! Sounds so cool!
You my friend are awesome, making all these projects so doable with your detailed instructions. You put a lot of work into making them look easy so people like me can follow along. Each one of these projects are something I can do and will look good thanks to you. Dollar tree is affordable for materials too. Thanks for sharing. I look forward to seeing what you do next!!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE. every project! Great ideas! I'm INSPIRED! XCELENT PRESENTATION! TFS!
Thanks so much! 😊
Sooo inspirational! I love every one of these❤ thank you, Amy! Craft on🙌🏻
Thanks so much 😊
Love that your little daughter came in a took what she liked:)❤
Ooh my craft lady twin…. I’m not a glitter girl either. Love the crafts especially the recipe book holder.
😊 thank you
Cutting a ridge along the back of the split would give a surface for the pot to adhere to the backing. That may be a little bit vague in my wordage but, make a little adhesive border around the back to adhere it. You can’t cut two out of one pot but then I don’t think they’re all that expensive.
wow very nice crafty things and stuff that you make with wallpapers very Interesting Indeed
Love the key holder board looks so easy to make. I can customize it to go in my kitchen. If I don't want the chalk board I can use a flat board. I decorated the rest of the house so I ask my husband what he'd like in the kitchen. (I didn't say it could be anything other than farmhouse style) Well guess what I have yellow walls, chicken burner covers, chickens with chicks curtains and a rug in front of the stove and sink! May as well mod podge a chicken napkin to the key holder. (Hey I got the teal living room, lavender 🪻 bedroom, orange sherbet craft room and now I'm painting my bedroom furniture (all mismatched solid wood) white and decoupaging Victorian ladies and roses on it. (I still have to make my headboard!) Love your channel.
Loved all that you made. So clever, easy does n inexpensive
Thanks so much 😊
My favorite was the book covering technique! Thanks!
I LOVE how u can come up with ideas!!! I can stand n the isle ....staring at things...for DAYS...and I STILL CAN'T GET IDEAS!!! THANK U FOR SHARING!!
Thank you! 😊
Thank you, fun to watch
Out of all the craft videos yours is the best they are all very nice things not just dumb stuff . Love it Great Ideas .
I love the tablet/cookbook stand! I saw a plain one at DT but this is an adjustable holder. Yay!
Yay 🎉🎉🎉Terrific!
Loved each and everyone of these crafts ❤. Thank you for sharing
Thanks so much 😊
Great ideas for those wallpaper pieces. I used the eucalyptus one on the back of my plastic placemats. The back was white already. It was slightly smaller so there was a white border. I also used the blue one on an existing wooden tray. I was unsure how it would wear so I cut the bendable plastic cutting mats and put it securely over the wallpaper. It stays in place and I can damp clean the surface
Hi there, lovely diy’s. Can you please tell me the brand of the pen blade that you are using?
Love all of these ideas ❤
