Soul Survivors, meat them in Downingtown PA, named my DJ business in honor of them, Sound Express! Shared that in a local newspaper write up l had when l started my business back in the 80's!
I grew up a few doors down from their rehearsal space at 8th and fitzwater streets in the late 1960s. My earliest childhood memories of music was hearing them practice at age 4!
Love the Soul Survivors..so talented..brought back many memories of my youth❣️❤️🙏🏻Thanks for sharing & putting it out there for this generation so they can see what great music existed during our generation amid the turbulent times we endured.
HEY HEY TO MY BROTHERS IN SOUL, many yrs. of drumming with you guys, and what we played on THE CITY OF BROTHERLY LOVE ALBUM IN 74,still sounds fresh. If BEEDO was back in Philly I would be kickin drums behind you, but L.A. has still got me. You guys only get better with age. BEAUTIFUL JOB. .
rip brother RICHIE. You and brother Charlie had more soul than NY shoemakers. I will always say that you were always Philly boys in my heart-the bear philly
You don't realize ho many great songs were actually on the radio in years past until you hear them again in a medley. These guys are magical in they create memorable melodic themes with great (melodies and chords) which is a very difficult thing to do. The absence of it in today's music (if you can call it that) proves it!
Until now l had no idea these were the guys that did "Expressway". That much soul in their voices and passion for the music, why were they so under the radar loops me.
Jeans are no problem, when you sound as good as they do (sorry I was in CA when they did this show). At least Charlie now wears a jacket to dress himself up (much better than the t-shirt he used to just wear). After 45 years, they still do it for me--their voices just get better & better! Always, Mama Soul
Throughout the years there were different lineups. Kenny had different bands also. The two brothers Charlie and Richie Ingui carried the band name for the majority of the years. Kenny Jeramiah was in the early years and was part of different Soul Survivors shows throughout the years. Kenny was a great singer and performer .
RIP Richie Ingui . You were a super talented singer and we will all miss you .
