I think you did well. I'd definitely recommend viewing some black youtubers who have been wearing and making lace wigs for decades in water. I've found amazing methods to use on my clients as a MUA through their talents and tips for my past adult entertainers who did underwater scenes (and recently I now do a private mermaids makeup and learned about waterproof spirit gums (for hair) and hairspray for makeup to last underwater for over an hour.) I'm talking more with my current client and are learning a lot of professional mermaids just dont seem to venture much into underwater HQ makeup and hair because they dont think it'll last but I can assure you it will ♡ dont be afraid to watch these black youtubers cause girl, they're ingenious and their applications and execution is amazing. Maybe I should ask said client if shed be okay if I shared videos of me doing her makeup and of her underwater with it.
Awwwww! Thanks for the shout-out, girl!! You totally did your braids much better than I did! Gaaaahhh!!! I fail at them 90% of the time! 😆😂 I like how you made yours into a bun, by the way. I think that is a much better way for those with long hair to go about it. ♥ (P.S.) A friend and subscriber of mine mentioned that if you put one bobby-pin over another in an "X" pattern using this same technique, it really helps reduce the number of bobby pins that you need! 😊
This is wildly different than how I do it! It's so cool to not only see people's different methods for underwater wiggary, but also to see that you've helped so many people learn a MUCH simpler way to keep a wig on in the water! ^-^ Good job Phantom! 💜
@@maxellaroe Really? You should create a tutorial for your technique sometime! It's always great to have different options, since everyone has their preferences! ♥ And thank you so much, Maxella Roe! I was honored that she referenced me. Love Marielle's work! 😇💖✨
@@TheMagicCrafter The Magic Crafter I plan on it, but I'm saving for my mermaid tail at the moment. ^-^' it's gonna be a hot minute before I can afford a decent camera to film it with. And I also love her work. Same with the other mermaid who made her own sequin and silicone mermaid tails. She's the one that inspired me to get my hands into sequin tails and try to produce my own unique designs. :3
Hmmm... if your hair is super short, perhaps you could try using the taping method, primarily? I used to have chin-length hair and had many frustrations with wigs until it grew out. I never tried wearing wig tape though, since I have very sensitive skin! But... perhaps it could work for you? I think there is a tutorial on both Mermaid Raina and AquaMermaid's channels. ♥
i could indeed try that sometime, i do want to let it grow out a bit more since wearing wigs is indeed horrible when you have short hair, but the main issue i had when i had longer hair was people thinking that i was a girl. But i'll make sure to check those out, thank you!
Merci beaucoup pour ses informations, Marielle! My wife Cathy will be wearing a wig as she plays a mermaid in an underwater photo shoot that we'll be doing to help promote my new album in 2019, so these tips will be very helpful to her (and to the rest of my models who are considering wigs). By the way, that red wig is adorable - proving once and for all that you can't spell "Marielle" without "Ariel"! Joyeux Noel et Bonne Annee a Marielle et tous ses co-equiers d'AquaSirene!
Its so much better if you French braid those two pieces up front. That gives the wig clips something to dig into. And secures any Bobby pins you use. And the back of the head I also French braid down. Makes it easier to put your wig on plus its smoother so you don't have a lump in the back of your head. #thelasvegasmermaid
Martha Stewart's "Multi-Surface Crafting Paint" would probably stick well! That's what I use on all of my crafts... it holds on to basically ANYTHING! 😊

Personally when wearing wigs I dont wear a bun as it makes a lump, I instead barrette the loose part of the ponytail to the scalp
How do you do braids with short hair for wigs and you look absolutely beautiful 🐬🧜♀️
Why dose this have one like it deserves more

Make sure top pluck your wig to make it more natural and emphasize the part

Amazon sells colored bobby pins~ it should help with hiding them in the wig ^^
Try painting the bobypins red

Or Just Get Red Bobby Pins
