Wait, how do you skip around in songs? Or do you have to wait until the segment happens every time?
you press R3 to fast foward, and L3 to rewind. then press - to retry from where your checkpoint is. So you want to set your checkpoint to where I show you in this video and keep pressing - to retry it nonstop until you master it.
I think if you do a song in practice mode you can chose where you want to start from? Idk tho, I've only played the demo lol
@@rowan4301 While selecting a song you can choose where you want it to start from, from there you can jump back or forward in the song.
@@bthportugal is this in mega mix? I cant see any options
The Gay From Gallifrey where you start the song you can chose practice in the menu
hisokee: you have to use the other side of the controller
me: i pretend i do not see it ︶👄︶
Sadly it's true :/ but it's very useful so try to get used on that
I still struggle a bit with that because somehow my brain is still partially stuck in OG Project Diva mode >.
Yeah, in Project Mirai I always played on the right side with one hand. xD (Expect the times when you had to press multiple buttons.) But I'm getting used to it.
idk how new players can play with just one side cause my hand would get tired af lol
I can play with both sides of my pro controller but my dpad keeps messing me up. And I usually don’t use joycons (because of the stick drifting) because my hands are too big for them and it just doesn’t feel right like a pro controller does
I struggle severely when it has me press several buttons at the same time. I tend to panic in the moment and forget that the other side of my switch exists.
unrelated but i love your pfp!
Hisokee: Use the joysticks for slides
Joy-con Drift: PREPARE FOR TROUBLE!
Nintendo Factories Shut Down: AND MAKE IT DOUBLE!
This actually happened to me and I had to send them in to get repaired, they're good now but I'm sticking to the ZL/ZR buttons for slides lmao
*TEAM SEGA*
If you use electronic repair spray down in the joycon stick it helps temporarily but immensely
*Laughs in pro controller*
Lois The Gacha Freak el
mega 39's is my first PD game if you don't count mirai, and everytime I have to press multiple buttons at the same time I just get confused and PANIC
Same. I feel like I do not deserve the stats I've achieved. LOL
felt that ;w;
Lol I’ve perfected two songs on hard, meltdown and hello worker.
Oh hard mode only-
BITCH SAME
I’m the same way, started with DX and just recently got MegaMix. -Just got to the point where I passed my first extreme, being 1/6 out of the gravity-
Kinda irrelevant now that I now got 2 extreme perfects
As someone with Megamix being their first Project Diva game, alongside wanting to play it really good instead of just casually, I appreciate this video a lot! I'd definitely be interested in future lessons if you make any
i hope u enjoy the game! :)
Rising Dawn Enjoy! I started playing FT a few months ago after learning some of the note basics with PDX, I never even thought I’d get there but I am slowly getting better with hold, double and triple notes. It’s difficult, believe me, but practice makes perfect! Literally!
I've been playing this series for about 4 years and I'm not amazing, (I can at least CLEAR some extra extreme songs,) but if you practice a lot you'll get there.
we need to be friends together because i have just started playing this too and i want to see your progress with it >-
Someone Else aaaa I literally just got the game like 10 days ago and I’m so glad megamix isn’t the first for other people aswellll
My biggest problem is with triple inputs. I don't mean the "triplets" from this video, but when you're supposed to press 3 buttons at the same time. I can react to two and four fast enough, but my brain is really slow trying to figure out which 3 buttons I have to press before they pass. Trying to Perfect the easiest ex song and can't because of this (I'll probably just write it down/memorize them).
The triplets there are 4 types, 2 common and 2 uncommon. In my controller video I show the pattern how they always appear so you dont need to react at all
@@hisokeee That's interesting, I'll watch that vid again, thanks.
Hi I’m kinda late to responding to this soz!! Multiple buttons at once the way that this game shows it was a new concept to me and unlike the other games that I saw. It took me a second to get adjusted to it but I typically just look for which icon isn’t there and I work around that. It takes less time than just trying to process what’s there.
So let’s say you have three at once and its up left and down
You don’t see the right there so you know it’s the other three
For this to work you have to have all combinations of three memorized
So like up down right, up left and right, up left down, and down left right
It might not be as effective but this is how I managed to get it down
Basically how I figured them out was I just practiced and slowly got it. I found out that the most used are specificity two of them. And so I memorized those two three holds so I would remember them.
“play on both sides when doing fast clicky”
my left hand which is 50 times slower then my right:
“play on ex/exex”
me, who only beat one song on hard:
Yeah, there's only a few sons I beat in heard so far. xD I wanted to start with easy and normal mode. But we'll get there.^^
exactly, I feel like this is kinda his expert diva player tunnel vision. you can't make a tutorial for BEGINNERS and add ex/exex
colorbar.s exactly how do you expect a BEGINNER to play the game on exex you cannot
(also off topic but i love your name and pfp)
@@whiteegretorchids8234 I mean, you don't have to play the entire song. You only have to practice certain patterns and can ignore the other notes. But it's still very hard for beginners. Especially since you have to clear songs in "hard" in order to unlock exex! And maybe not all complete beginners can do that.
Sailor Cat yea, actual beginners wont be able to beat songs on hard to do these practices. beginners can maybe clear normal mode on some songs, thats about it. really this is intermediate practice except for the sections actually accessible to beginners
"for Beginners"
bro, I can't even press the double notes quick enough
Don't worry keep practicing ! I didn't even knew how to press a button without looking at my controller lol
Macros
megamix was my first project diva game (I had an interest in the series but I only owned nintendo consoles so rip) so this is very helpful, thank you!
Literally same
Same, I used to only play the Mirai series for 3ds. I've heard that Diva is way harder than Mirai so I'm kinda scared that I won't enjoy the game or get frustrated at the difficulty
@@gray2424 same here, I played mirai for a couple years and while project diva is much harder, I've had a lot of fun with it after getting used to it
@@gray2424 as one who went from mirai to diva, its definently a lot harder to read, but you get used to it. I'm still insanely better at spamming than hitting the multi notes but im not as bad as when i first started. Also handheld mode is easier imo cuz input lag and ur eyes arent spazzing and trying to read notes
@@deadacc7140 As someone who is into the Extreme charts now, I can guarantee you there's NO perceivable input lag on the wireless mode of the joy cons or any wireless controller from the Xbox 360 and upwards. Anything related to that is either you losing connection from range (can happen even if you think you are close enough), but then you really do miss presses entirely not just out of time, or the most likely culprit: your TV acting up.
Like Hisokeee said here, setting the TV to game mode or monitor mode is necessary. There's also a lag calibration function in-game, I never needed to use that thankfully.
TV mode being harder I won't say against tho as that's personal and dependent on your TV size and view distance. For me tho, the Switch in standard size (non-lite) is way too massive to play Diva on it easily, the grip on the controller can be changed easier in my case if it's docked.
There’s a comment in this comment section that says “wanna be friends?” I’m pretty sure it’s a hack thing so don’t reply to it
Other than that it would be great to have more vids like this one
I reported it for spam since there's no better alternative until youtube does something about it.
slodkalili yeah I will too, they’re really annoying and I hope they get dealt with soon
Yeah i got that in one of my project diva vids and i reported it
I legit scrolled through all the comments to see this xdd

Then there's the secret technique that I call "the hiso's technique": By playing a sped up version of a song and getting used/consistent at it will make the regular version way easier. This is more helpful on harder songs/petterns (especially on f2nd) and overtime you really feel the difference while playing songs with higher bpm. As for mega39s, perhaps the best way could be by speeding up replays of yt perfects but then you are not sure if you are doing it correctly. Speaking of bpm (idk if hiso is planning a video about speed and/or spam), there are imo 5 main stages of spam learning:
I’ve been playing f and f2nd for years and getting started on mega mix feels like I’ve reverted back to when I could only just clear extreme songs, thank you for the tips and tricks on what to practice first hiso!
The charts from this game comes from the arcade where they pump up the difficulty to get players to spend more money. So compared to the console diva games its normal to feel like you are suddenly worse than you remember
Same! When I first played the extreme charts on mega39 I was flabbergasted by how awful I did. Fortunately I got better and now aiming to perfect most ex songs and possibly exex’s as well
@@hisokeee DAMN they rly do that??
@@rugrat222 Seems like a very smart decision on Sega's part.
same here. my first games were f/f2nd 5 years ago. i can handle extreme songs easily on there and it took me only a week to get into extreme. as a nintendo main and megamix being my first arcade based port of pd, this shit is like torture. i can only stand hard lvls. i’m trying to practice but so far, mix mode is the thing distracting me away from arcade mode. it’s too good.
much appreciated hiso-senpai
i’ve played extend for the past two years and thought i was at least good at pd but playing mega mix makes me feel like i’m just starting in the series with the multi button presses and the slides 😭 but this really did help thank youu
Yeah these charts are designed to get more money at arcades from players, so the difficulty spike is a surprise to console diva players
for lesson one, i also recommend 2:10 of This is the Happiness and Peace of Mind Commitee
which difficulty tho
@@colorbar.s hard, probably. It feels a bit easy for a 7 star song, imo, but thats probably just cuz I've played it so many times
3:23 Heck, until now I've done these by fat thumbing. Never thought of doing it this way.
omg ty, megamix is my first pd game so this is gonna save my ass
waif i didn’t even know you could rewind and restart practises and just hold for a second and let go and get hold bonuses watching a video of someone else helps a ton!
Hisokee? Wow. now that's a name I recognise. I think I used to play a lot of your custom songs on project diva/Vita.
“for beginners” and then “practice on the ex versions of songs” yet i cant even perfect a song on E A S Y yet how am i supposed to unlock extreme bro
Me who always get 50 to 70% on easy,normal,and hard : 👁️👄👁️
I found another good spot for practicing alternative pressing. Ghost Rule on hard at 2:12 really helped and I found it easier than remote controller or singing passion. You can put it earlier than 2:12 if you don’t want it to start suddenly.
don't you have to pay for dlc for ghost rule or is that only for future tone
I've recently been trying to get into Project Diva due to my growing interest in Vocaloid and rhythm games as a whole. I watch a lot of your content and am delighted that you released this video as I plan on purchasing MegaMix whenever it goes on sale. Your gameplay inspires me to become a better player and learn. My only practice has been through the Japanese demo and Future Tone Prelude songs. Will do my best to get better, thank you for the video!
that's an awful lot of big words
I'm working on a little beginner guide on the Project Diva subreddit and this is definitely getting linked. Keep up the good work Hiso!
I love this! More of these please!
I’ve just started diving into practice mode, and now I have lessons to get me started!
I’ve been playing project Diva for years and this was helpful even for me. I struggle with triplets of 3 different notes so having a specific part of a song to practice will be very helpful! Thank you Hiso
I 've been playing Megamix since the March and only recently realized I need to master most of these techniques. Thanks for making this video, it helps an awful lot!
I was waiting for this video! Thank you so much 😆👍🏻
I needed this, I can’t get perfects at all
perfects? I'm still tryna pass
Oh my god THANK YOU! I’ve been following your videos for a long time, and watched the first tutorial you did for PS4 probably hundreds of times. I went from barely scratching a 5 star song to practicing daily on 8+ star songs. I still struggle to read the notes in faster songs, but this helped immensely! I would love it if you could do more tutorials!
You are literally the first person I went to on YT to get better on this game! And I thank you because I can play extreme on FT!
this is really helpful as someone newer to the series, thank you!
Thanks hisokeee! This will really help me out!
Oh God yes! You are the best! I do alternate hands on Holds but I will put all of this into practice right away 💖 thanks a lot
DUDE this is great!! I’d LOVE more vids like this!!
thank you for the tip i recently start last week and finally clear one extreme 🙌
I played the pd series for like 3 years but I have still learned something. Thank you for the content. Tutorials for this game are extremely useful
tysm for this! ive only ever really played mobile rhythm games, so i was having a a hard time getting used to the difference, and i really didnt know where to start in looking for good practice songs bc of how many there are. thanks again!!
Yesterday I was playing future tone and thinking about how I want to up my game but didn’t really know where to start, and then this popped up in my recommended. Kinda spooky but extremely well timed and helpful!
Thank you so much for your lessons and keep up the good work
Thank you very much! I am extremely excited to practice! :)
Thank you!
I'll be using these practice methods in Future Tone from now on
if you own FT, use kimini Ex as practice and find the parts where the triplets come in nonstop. Or better yet master the whole song because once you can do triplets with ease you can really move on in the game.
@@hisokeee triplets are my main blockade with progress rn so this is very much appreciated.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! im just now starting to be able to pass all hard songs on great, so this will help as i work on getting to extreme!!!!
This is really helpful cause I've been struggling with the double to single buttons like in Ageage again and also the triple button tapping in Common world domination
This is so helpfuuul I was having trouble with the mechanics of FT/megamix because I was too used to F/F2nd :0 thank youu! You should keep making these-
Really glad you made this video. Look forward watching the next video about overlapping notes. I'm struggling with them.
It's in the description
Hiso, you are an absolute G.
This is something that's really gonna help lots of players - it'll help new players get over the difficulty hump that comes with hold switching for the first time/using both sides of the controller effectively, and help more experienced players brush up on this "basic" stuff to stay sharp/ease into a play session before tackling crazier songs so that they feel solid with the basics.
Can't wait for more of your lessons 🙌🙌
YES! I had a friend who could not get past that rut all players face, so i taught her that the other side makes things easier and shes super good now :))
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS HISOKEEE-
Thank you so much!! This was super helpful 😭😭 I started playing project miari few months ago, and mega mix is my second PD game. I've been improving slowly with PD, but I hope one day I can be as good as you^^ Please do more of these if you can, they are super helpful!
Wow i dont even think its been an hour and ive already done the first lesson! Tysm for dis 🥺👌
Very useful! Some of these things are intuitive but I just couldn't figure out how to get better, thanks :)
damn ive been playing future tone for like 3 years and i never knew about switching between macros for holds, really helpful!
This vid really helped me when I started Megamix and Future Tone in August. I played Diva 2nd and X a lot in 2016/2017 but then I kinda fell out of the series until I found a copy of F 2nd in July, and then I got into the games again. Thanks for the helpful video!
you are seriously my savior in this game 😭😭
Ive just started to clear extreme level songs but i still found this very helpful thank you
... I've been a beginner for years now... I had no idea about using ZL and ZR with all 4 notes.
I've been using the claw grip for hold notes whenever I needed to hold and alternate hands. Which has been pretty difficult/uncomfortable to hold for long.
god bless this man
re fachero el hisokeee
Thank you! I'm a new player with MegaMix and this is really helpful!
5:02 Oh my god. That's so much easier than what I was doing lmao, I just mashed 🔺️ with my right and □ with my left every other. Thanks hiso!
I wish I saw this video when I started playing, this is super helpful stuff for people just starting out
hiso is the mentor we all needed
Instant subscribe 🥰 ive been playing 2 hatsune titles in my psvita with only using the other side of the system. Upgrading to switch, i can finally practice to handed gameplay with this video ☺
Yes make more lessons, I need them 😅
Bro, thank you very much for these tips, they have helped me a lot to start in the future tone, I am new in this world of project diva, I still find many things difficult but I am progressing, for now I am practicing a lot alternating fingers in the parts that I They require a lot of stamina, (also because I want to get the perfect one in the song (テオ "Teo"), I thank you again for the help you have left on your channel for new people like me.
Thank you so much! I will try this stuff! Please make more lessons!
After a year of playing Project Diva megamix, I finally learned how to alternate hands :3
I practiced a lot with just playing with my left hand and now I can do it lol :33
Wow this really helped... Thanks!
this is really motivating!! ive been getting by on songs by the skin of my teeth just through knowledge of em and previous llsif skill but buttons are new to me and theyre hArD
this seems v helpful, i’ll be sure to try it out! the only miku game i’ve played before is mirai dx so i’m really excited to actually get to play megamix now. my main problems are with remembering to alternate joycons and hitting a+b or x+y, i think mostly because i panic trying to hit two buttons with one thumb lol (i normally do a+b buttons right handed and x+y buttons left handed so i just instinctively do that instead of trying to adapt better to the situation ig)
thank you hiso-senpai
This helped me finally beat Ex Ashes to Ashes! Thanks!
I almost always come to see this video 👌
i went from f2nd to megamix and wOw the transition has been kinda hard ngl so i’m glad i found this
As someone who is trying to get better at this game, but having trouble with triplets, I'm really happy to have specific points in songs to go to to work on them. Would definitely love to see more videos like this.
Yes, please make more videos like this!
This’ll help a lot! Tysm! :3
THANK YOU SO MUCH IVE BEEN SO USED TO THE WAY PROJ DIVA F AND F2ND DOES THINGS THAT I CANT GET USED TO THIS
Thanks for the recomendations!
Im a new player of project diva (this is my first game) so this will help me to complete those hard song for me thanks! (Sorry for the bad english)
Thank you very much ❤
Great video, I’m trying to do all the double notes in the 10 star songs and I think I’ll try to go back to the basics to get them right
You're a life saver!
I'm so glad I found this video XDXD Megamix is my first PD game (actually got me more into Vocaloid) and although I've been trudging through it (almost got Hard song perfected, Lover's Suicide Oblivion) it's still really nice to see some sort of guide to figuring out how to do all of this XD
i bought the megamix+ (the steam version) and it's my first time playing project diva (but i have experience in other rhythm games) this will really help me, thank you very much!
I’m back after a month and finally got my first perfect! Thanks
this helped me alot :) i cleared all songs in hard mode now!!!!
Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you! Now I won't be dreading practicing aimlessly
thank you and i love you
genial como siempre
BRO THIS WAS EVERYTHING I NEED THANK YOU SM THIS MEANS ALOTTT
i'm great at Hard difficulty already but Extreme difficulty is on a whole other level but i did pass my first 8* on Extreme with adolescence recently and i still haven't got used to alternating between the D-Pad and face buttons yet but i'm getting there (that controller cam is a huge help, thank you, i always press the D-Pad, the button and the D-Pad, when alternating between them, too fast for now but i'll get there, as they say, practise makes perfect)
these are so helpful! this is my first game other than mirai just because of console, but I’ve always really wanted to get into the games. honestly though it’s really funny when after the sequence finished the song just goes silent lmao
tysm, as a (mostly)one-hand project mirai player of 5 years, learning to alternate hands is gonna be p tough
Thank u so much San-hisokee, I just start the game
How did I not know about that holds trick omg
my only game before megamix was mirai lol. this is very helpful thank u
Thank you :)
Thank you hiso I will try common world domination triple notes
i've only played f/f2nd and i never really got very good, megamix feels like i'm back to struggling with the bare bones! thanks for the tips hiso :-)
Thank you so much for the tips even tho I only have the demo on my switch I’d like to improve on it ☺️
