Yeah, in Project Mirai I always played on the right side with one hand. xD (Expect the times when you had to press multiple buttons.) But I'm getting used to it.
I can play with both sides of my pro controller but my dpad keeps messing me up. And I usually don’t use joycons (because of the stick drifting) because my hands are too big for them and it just doesn’t feel right like a pro controller does

Rising Dawn Enjoy! I started playing FT a few months ago after learning some of the note basics with PDX, I never even thought I’d get there but I am slowly getting better with hold, double and triple notes. It’s difficult, believe me, but practice makes perfect! Literally!

YES! I had a friend who could not get past that rut all players face, so i taught her that the other side makes things easier and shes super good now :))
I found another good spot for practicing alternative pressing. Ghost Rule on hard at 2:12 really helped and I found it easier than remote controller or singing passion. You can put it earlier than 2:12 if you don’t want it to start suddenly.
Oh my god THANK YOU! I’ve been following your videos for a long time, and watched the first tutorial you did for PS4 probably hundreds of times. I went from barely scratching a 5 star song to practicing daily on 8+ star songs. I still struggle to read the notes in faster songs, but this helped immensely! I would love it if you could do more tutorials!
waif i didn’t even know you could rewind and restart practises and just hold for a second and let go and get hold bonuses watching a video of someone else helps a ton!
I 've been playing Megamix since the March and only recently realized I need to master most of these techniques. Thanks for making this video, it helps an awful lot!

After a year of playing Project Diva megamix, I finally learned how to alternate hands :3 I practiced a lot with just playing with my left hand and now I can do it lol :33
Yesterday I was playing future tone and thinking about how I want to up my game but didn’t really know where to start, and then this popped up in my recommended. Kinda spooky but extremely well timed and helpful!
This is really helpful cause I've been struggling with the double to single buttons like in Ageage again and also the triple button tapping in Common world domination
if you own FT, use kimini Ex as practice and find the parts where the triplets come in nonstop. Or better yet master the whole song because once you can do triplets with ease you can really move on in the game.
This is so helpfuuul I was having trouble with the mechanics of FT/megamix because I was too used to F/F2nd :0 thank youu! You should keep making these-
this seems v helpful, i’ll be sure to try it out! the only miku game i’ve played before is mirai dx so i’m really excited to actually get to play megamix now. my main problems are with remembering to alternate joycons and hitting a+b or x+y, i think mostly because i panic trying to hit two buttons with one thumb lol (i normally do a+b buttons right handed and x+y buttons left handed so i just instinctively do that instead of trying to adapt better to the situation ig)
tysm for this! ive only ever really played mobile rhythm games, so i was having a a hard time getting used to the difference, and i really didnt know where to start in looking for good practice songs bc of how many there are. thanks again!!
As someone who is trying to get better at this game, but having trouble with triplets, I'm really happy to have specific points in songs to go to to work on them. Would definitely love to see more videos like this.
Bro, thank you very much for these tips, they have helped me a lot to start in the future tone, I am new in this world of project diva, I still find many things difficult but I am progressing, for now I am practicing a lot alternating fingers in the parts that I They require a lot of stamina, (also because I want to get the perfect one in the song (テオ "Teo"), I thank you again for the help you have left on your channel for new people like me.
It worked very well. It took me 3 days. The way I did it was the next: -Try to do the thing -Keep trying until notice some kind of advance. -Inmediately, do it again 2 or 3 times with that advance, and stop for 10 min+ (30 up to 1h is what I recommend, but you can stay longer) -Retry now, and repeat the whole process. You may mastered the exercise in 1 day at least. Extra pro tip: play 1 time at least doing the exercise you're mastering **before** sleep. Pay attention and copy ALWAYS the way hisokee use the inputs. I skipped ZL-R ones, due I personally hate macros, and I didn't care so much about the points more than perfect a song. The alternate one took me more time than I imagined to master than the others. I was used to play and perfect average extreme F, F2nd and X song, so I had a basis. I would mention in the intermediate lesson with I started these videos, the alternating notes with one hand was pretty easy, and I think it would be considered as a begginer lesson more than intermediate. (To be fair, I'm pretty used to, even I perfected songs like extremd F2nd Miku Miku ni shite ageru and extreme F2nd Magnet on the past, then maybe simply was easier for me by that reason)
Thank you so much!! This was super helpful 😭😭 I started playing project miari few months ago, and mega mix is my second PD game. I've been improving slowly with PD, but I hope one day I can be as good as you^^ Please do more of these if you can, they are super helpful!
i bought the megamix+ (the steam version) and it's my first time playing project diva (but i have experience in other rhythm games) this will really help me, thank you very much!
I haven't bought MegaMix yet, but when I do I'll make sure to come back to this video! My first Miku game was Project Mirai DX, and I only played the touchscreen mode, but the MegaMix demo has gotten me used to button controls in no time. Still have a lot to learn though.
My first was mirai dx too! That game is what made me buy a ps4, so i could play more diva games lol. Button mode is so fun i swear. Using these tips in the video i can tell you that button mode will be more fun :))
This is really neat. When I first started playing, I could not beat most maps on Hard. I was in this sort of limbo between finding normal too easy and finding hard to be way too hard. If you know me though, I am really stubborn. What I decided to do was to play the songs on hard mode anyway. I would go into practice, and just play all of my favorite songs over and over. Before I knew it, I was finishing those songs with a G or E rating and unlocking Extreme modes. So, now I found myself in a place where Hard was too easy and Extreme was too hard. So I became stubborn and just played all of my favorite songs in practice mode on Extreme. I can finish most of my favorite songs on Extreme and Extra Extreme now. The only thing I really have yet to master are songs that use double notes, but you're expected to hit them at a speed that would require alternating both hands. For example, the end of "Disappearance" on Extreme. Either I need to hit both buttons with one hand and alternate, or I need to make faster presses with two hands.
i'm great at Hard difficulty already but Extreme difficulty is on a whole other level but i did pass my first 8* on Extreme with adolescence recently and i still haven't got used to alternating between the D-Pad and face buttons yet but i'm getting there (that controller cam is a huge help, thank you, i always press the D-Pad, the button and the D-Pad, when alternating between them, too fast for now but i'll get there, as they say, practise makes perfect)
Bro i've been watching you for years and was into vocaloid for a long time, but I literally just got my first Project DIVA game, and it's MegaMix. I'm gonna get F,F 2nd and even X because why not. (Not Future Tone tho- I don't have a PS4 rEEE) This was actually really helpful and I wanna thank you for this tutorial.
Tips for X.. its honestly one of the worst games you could buy. It only has like 30 songs and the extreme mode can be equated to like hard on a 6 star song. Just saying as someone who felt they wasted their time with buying that game as their first diva game :/
Thanks for the recomendations! Im a new player of project diva (this is my first game) so this will help me to complete those hard song for me thanks! (Sorry for the bad english)
god i didn't know about ZL/ZR stuff and always been trying to push all the buttons in sutiuations like on 4:15 and failed. Thank you, hisokeee! Gonna watch your controller tutorial and try this in game.
I'm so glad I found this video XDXD Megamix is my first PD game (actually got me more into Vocaloid) and although I've been trudging through it (almost got Hard song perfected, Lover's Suicide Oblivion) it's still really nice to see some sort of guide to figuring out how to do all of this XD
these are so helpful! this is my first game other than mirai just because of console, but I’ve always really wanted to get into the games. honestly though it’s really funny when after the sequence finished the song just goes silent lmao
I've hit that wall where i need to learn to coordinate right and left thumb :D The final sequence of 'Teo' (@3:05) is pretty good to practice double hand synchronization as well.

... I've been a beginner for years now... I had no idea about using ZL and ZR with all 4 notes. I've been using the claw grip for hold notes whenever I needed to hold and alternate hands. Which has been pretty difficult/uncomfortable to hold for long.
this is really motivating!! ive been getting by on songs by the skin of my teeth just through knowledge of em and previous llsif skill but buttons are new to me and theyre hArD

I saw this and was super excited to get tips on mix mode but was bamboozled when I saw it was for arcade mode. It's still a very good video for beginners! I'm going to be ordering an adapter soon for my ps4 controller because the pro controller and joy cons are much tougher to hit and not as smooth as the ps4 controller.
I bought a whole PS4 controller just for Megamix lol (that and I didn't want to buy a Switch Pro controller). Check out 8bitdo's controller adapter. It doesn't have any noticeable lag and 8bitdo is well-known for its Switch stuff. There's also the mayflash adapter that's apparently better because it supports more controllers but I can't vouch for it.
@@cephi_sui ty think i might take a look at this adapter since i can't get used to switch controller at all. way to used to the good old ds4 controller. i will mainly play megamix for new songs and mix mode since i have ft and it looks so much better. i don't dislike the toon shader tho.
How do you press the button so quickly when doing Intense singing? I’ve been playing since X but I still just can’t press the button quick enough. I’ve tried the alternating way but I much prefer non alternating. Is it just a thing that happens over time where u eventually become fast enough? Or is there some sort of trick?
this video has helped a lot so far!! I've been a fan of vocaloid and project diva for like 8 years but was never able to play the games. I finally got megamix and I have so far completed a handful of extreme stages in a month or two. I'm starting to understand triplets however I cant for the life of me alternate buttons. I for some reason find it much easier to alternate every 10 seconds or so from one hand to the other as opposed to consistently going back and forth every note. I'm gonna keep working on it but my left hand is so not on beat despite being my dominant hand 🤨 great video though!
Wait, how do you skip around in songs? Or do you have to wait until the segment happens every time?
you press R3 to fast foward, and L3 to rewind. then press - to retry from where your checkpoint is. So you want to set your checkpoint to where I show you in this video and keep pressing - to retry it nonstop until you master it.

Can't wait for more of your lessons 🙌🙌
YES! I had a friend who could not get past that rut all players face, so i taught her that the other side makes things easier and shes super good now :))
I found another good spot for practicing alternative pressing. Ghost Rule on hard at 2:12 really helped and I found it easier than remote controller or singing passion. You can put it earlier than 2:12 if you don’t want it to start suddenly.
don't you have to pay for dlc for ghost rule or is that only for future tone
You are literally the first person I went to on YT to get better on this game! And I thank you because I can play extreme on FT!
Hisokee? Wow. now that's a name I recognise. I think I used to play a lot of your custom songs on project diva/Vita.
"A-.. age age age again, to-"
5:02 Oh my god. That's so much easier than what I was doing lmao, I just mashed 🔺️ with my right and □ with my left every other. Thanks hiso!
waif i didn’t even know you could rewind and restart practises and just hold for a second and let go and get hold bonuses watching a video of someone else helps a ton!
I 've been playing Megamix since the March and only recently realized I need to master most of these techniques. Thanks for making this video, it helps an awful lot!
I played the pd series for like 3 years but I have still learned something. Thank you for the content. Tutorials for this game are extremely useful
I needed this, I can’t get perfects at all
perfects? I'm still tryna pass
tysm, as a (mostly)one-hand project mirai player of 5 years, learning to alternate hands is gonna be p tough
Practice summary (for anyone too lazy to skim through the video every time like me)
Song 1 - Remote Controller / リモコン { 2:23 } Hard

Song 2 - Luka Luka Night Fever / ルカルカナイトフィーバー { 0:02 } ExEx
// For standard triplets

Song 6 - AgeAge Again / アゲアゲアゲイン { 2:55 } Ex
// Alternating combo & single notes (also annoying)
| Extra song: Odds & Ends { 1:05 } ExEx |
After a year of playing Project Diva megamix, I finally learned how to alternate hands :3
I practiced a lot with just playing with my left hand and now I can do it lol :33
Thank you!
I'll be using these practice methods in Future Tone from now on
if you own FT, use kimini Ex as practice and find the parts where the triplets come in nonstop. Or better yet master the whole song because once you can do triplets with ease you can really move on in the game.
@@hisokeee triplets are my main blockade with progress rn so this is very much appreciated.
This is so helpfuuul I was having trouble with the mechanics of FT/megamix because I was too used to F/F2nd :0 thank youu! You should keep making these-
Really glad you made this video. Look forward watching the next video about overlapping notes. I'm struggling with them.
It's in the description
damn ive been playing future tone for like 3 years and i never knew about switching between macros for holds, really helpful!
this seems v helpful, i’ll be sure to try it out! the only miku game i’ve played before is mirai dx so i’m really excited to actually get to play megamix now. my main problems are with remembering to alternate joycons and hitting a+b or x+y, i think mostly because i panic trying to hit two buttons with one thumb lol (i normally do a+b buttons right handed and x+y buttons left handed so i just instinctively do that instead of trying to adapt better to the situation ig)
I love this! More of these please!
I’ve just started diving into practice mode, and now I have lessons to get me started!
tysm for this! ive only ever really played mobile rhythm games, so i was having a a hard time getting used to the difference, and i really didnt know where to start in looking for good practice songs bc of how many there are. thanks again!!
As someone who is trying to get better at this game, but having trouble with triplets, I'm really happy to have specific points in songs to go to to work on them. Would definitely love to see more videos like this.
Wow i dont even think its been an hour and ive already done the first lesson! Tysm for dis 🥺👌
I have 3 years solo in this game and i get 9 stars.
This vid is really helpful thx !!!
this is really helpful as someone newer to the series, thank you!
The way I did it was the next:
-Try to do the thing
-Keep trying until notice some kind of advance.
-Inmediately, do it again 2 or 3 times with that advance, and stop for 10 min+ (30 up to 1h is what I recommend, but you can stay longer)
-Retry now, and repeat the whole process.
I wish I saw this video when I started playing, this is super helpful stuff for people just starting out
I haven't bought MegaMix yet, but when I do I'll make sure to come back to this video!
Using these tips in the video i can tell you that button mode will be more fun :))
hiso is the mentor we all needed
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS HISOKEEE-
you are seriously my savior in this game 😭😭
I was waiting for this video! Thank you so much 😆👍🏻
This is really neat.
Either I need to hit both buttons with one hand and alternate, or I need to make faster presses with two hands.
thank you for the tip i recently start last week and finally clear one extreme 🙌
i'm great at Hard difficulty already but Extreme difficulty is on a whole other level but i did pass my first 8* on Extreme with adolescence recently and i still haven't got used to alternating between the D-Pad and face buttons yet but i'm getting there (that controller cam is a huge help, thank you, i always press the D-Pad, the button and the D-Pad, when alternating between them, too fast for now but i'll get there, as they say, practise makes perfect)
THANK YOU SO MUCH IVE BEEN SO USED TO THE WAY PROJ DIVA F AND F2ND DOES THINGS THAT I CANT GET USED TO THIS
DUDE this is great!! I’d LOVE more vids like this!!
@@seedmix754 Oh,thanks for the advice dude! :D
Very useful! Some of these things are intuitive but I just couldn't figure out how to get better, thanks :)
Ive just started to clear extreme level songs but i still found this very helpful thank you
Oh God yes! You are the best! I do alternate hands on Holds but I will put all of this into practice right away 💖 thanks a lot
“for beginners” and then “practice on the ex versions of songs” yet i cant even perfect a song on E A S Y yet how am i supposed to unlock extreme bro
Me who always get 50 to 70% on easy,normal,and hard : 👁️👄👁️
i've only played f/f2nd and i never really got very good, megamix feels like i'm back to struggling with the bare bones! thanks for the tips hiso :-)
i remember watching his tips for future tone, and that really helped me tbh, i dont use bumpers as sliders anymore too, i got used to the joysticks
these are so helpful! this is my first game other than mirai just because of console, but I’ve always really wanted to get into the games. honestly though it’s really funny when after the sequence finished the song just goes silent lmao
i went from f2nd to megamix and wOw the transition has been kinda hard ngl so i’m glad i found this
BRO THIS WAS EVERYTHING I NEED THANK YOU SM THIS MEANS ALOTTT
I got my GF into project diva games a year ago now she plays hard on future tone, this video will help her a lot tnx for the content ♥
I find using the arrow melody icon instead of just the controllers XYAB helps a lot more
It makes more sense in my pea sized brain lmao
I've hit that wall where i need to learn to coordinate right and left thumb :D
The final sequence of 'Teo' (@3:05) is pretty good to practice double hand synchronization as well.
Thank you very much! I am extremely excited to practice! :)
Thank you! I'm a new player with MegaMix and this is really helpful!
coming from taiko
most of the tips I just learned on my own first time playing it I just get really overwhelmed by multis
Thanks hisokeee! This will really help me out!
I'm gonna try to use some of these in future tone (though I'm not really a beginner anymore) I wanna get more than just excellent on hard
Yes make more lessons, I need them 😅
my cat was enthralled by this video, so it has dual purpose - a tutorial, and a cat toy
Instant subscribe 🥰 ive been playing 2 hatsune titles in my psvita with only using the other side of the system. Upgrading to switch, i can finally practice to handed gameplay with this video ☺
... I've been a beginner for years now... I had no idea about using ZL and ZR with all 4 notes.
I've been using the claw grip for hold notes whenever I needed to hold and alternate hands. Which has been pretty difficult/uncomfortable to hold for long.
This helped me finally beat Ex Ashes to Ashes! Thanks!
The one time I'm glad I devoted months into taiko. Triples in this game just got so much easier 😭
Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you! Now I won't be dreading practicing aimlessly
*watches intently*
*Left wrist w/ muscle + nerve damage* : imma go ow ow
Thank you so much for your lessons and keep up the good work
this is really motivating!! ive been getting by on songs by the skin of my teeth just through knowledge of em and previous llsif skill but buttons are new to me and theyre hArD
tip! of youre having trouble getting luka luka night fever exex for the triplets common world domination hard @2:18 is a good section to practice them with its a little less punishing than lukaluka too
0:50 i am trying to do this while the neighbourhood children are screaming their heads off outside while my hands think it's a good idea to press at the same time
I saw this and was super excited to get tips on mix mode but was bamboozled when I saw it was for arcade mode.
Great video, I’m trying to do all the double notes in the 10 star songs and I think I’ll try to go back to the basics to get them right
How do you press the button so quickly when doing Intense singing? I’ve been playing since X but I still just can’t press the button quick enough. I’ve tried the alternating way but I much prefer non alternating. Is it just a thing that happens over time where u eventually become fast enough? Or is there some sort of trick?
Not a trick just gotta find most comfortable way to hold and build stamina. I know how you feel because I can't single tap in osu lol
this video has helped a lot so far!!
