Finally. You finally get it. I've seen this about mainoo ever since i saw him in the youth set up. Whether the peoole in charge will see this is another thing. I can imagine this boy being ruined. I sound like a broken record but the boy is just so talented and it'd be a shame to let this talent go to waste.
Your point about Bruno is spot on. I never seen him as a CM, he's a forward player.

I was of this exact opinion, with Eriksen at the base, Bruno at the point, Maino & Casemiro/Mctominay (pending when a better player is signed) on each side.
When can we get a holding midfield that sits tight. We always get over run in midfield when can we have a solid defensive unit

I agree the diamond would be the best role for someone like Mainoo but don’t think man utds team would have the discipline to play it. It’s very high intensity and they already have a problem running as it is. But if you make the decision to play a certain style of play then brilliant! Mainoo Bruno Hojlund Dalot and Rashford could be brilliant in a diamond. But you need to bring in the style of players around them to suit it

mainoo has fantastic qualities now but one of the qualities he still needs to improve on is defensive intensity in transition. when they lose the ball with him committed higher up the pitch he struggles right now to chase back and make up ground. so i think playing with a roaming deep lying playmaker type (like dejong) will not suit him at this time since he either does not have the defensive awareness now to slide back to cover or does not yet have the physicality required to sprint back fast enough. of course, he still has lots of room for improvement so he may grow into the role in time to come.
Personally I really don't see the Seedorf comparisons. Kobbie doesn't, nor will he likely ever in my opinion, have the power and physical presence of a Seedorf. I see far more young Iniesta in Kobbie than anyone else at this point, obviously more physical than Iniesta (but not Seedorf level) he's just a really talented ball of clay that is as yet undefined as to what type of midfielder he actually is, but my prediction is a manager be it ETH or someone else will likely try to develope the defensive side of his game and he will eventually settle into a Busquets like 6 as his career progresses. Press resistance already there, just needs to learn positional awareness defensively. As a United fan I'm delighted we have him and really excited to see just what type of midfielder he becomes.
One of the problems I noticed with Manchester United midfield, is that Bruno does not know how to play with Mainoo. There are so many times I see Mainoo is looking for the one two with Bruno and not getting it. Bruno's first thought is to play the long pass, instead of building with Mainoo. ETH needs to instruct Bruno to look for Mainoo more. How the heck can Mainoo dominate the game without the ball?
Are they no other players with same skillset or attributes to De Jong?
Mainoo is close enough that we dont need him, this video is fantasy management. ETH wont play a diamond, he'll fit mainoo into his system rather than the other way round.

A midfield of Onana, Kobbie & Frankie/Neves, with Bruno at the top, coming deep sometimes, would be criminal. But attainable.
Mainoo I'd say is more of a regista type himself
He's not as athletic as Seedorf was, not even nearly
But he's more positionally aware/intelligent and has better deep buildup than a young Seedorf, very different players
Mainoo's performance against Liverpool for me was the last nail for Casemiro's... he's been so bad all season and have been looking for every excuse for him like d ETH's tactics exposes him but dat didn't cover his rashness and frequent brain farts...he must be replaced dis summer with someone that can complement Mainoo...the midfield MUST be built around Mainoo

No no no. All the more reason we need a player like casemiro. Mainoo will never fulfil his potential playing as an anchor. There are anchor men or 6''s who have mainoo ability to pick the ball off from the back.
Casemiro's decline was predicted last season though. Man has played a helluva games in his career.

In my opinion, I'd say mainoo's best position is playing as an 8. He can push forward while also tracking back
For next season, if we're to build a youthful midfield trio, I'd say mejbri/gore as a 10, mainoo as an 8 and hopefully maxi oyedele as a 6

@@AtlantisFootball going for ONANA looks like a defensive move in terms of catching up to the top teams , united need to get players who are attack minded but also versatile enough to change from game to game I would prefer more agile players instead of these box crashed type of players who can’t progress the ball between the lines it just seems a lil defensive in terms of strategy, no other top team would buy him for a role other than being a box crashed like mctominay who offers nothing but defensive actions I agree with the team you setup with Mainoo on the left of a diamond but I’d rather give the right side to mount or koopmeiners or gomes from wolves 🐺 .

@@AtlantisFootball Everyone's all hyped because he scored a goal but what has he given us all season so far? 2 goals in 20 appearances. A 1:10 work rate. For an offensive player, that's crap form. Most of our midfield and forwards on the bench are just as bad. Our starting defenders have better work rates. That's why we're stuck at 6th place with only 39 goals. We need more offensive players at the 1:4 and less level if we want to score enough to win the title again. It's the metrics of management.
