I actually made my own version of "King Kong in Africa", which has Kong battling poachers, a giant crocodile named "Kufuli" ('Lockjaw' in Swahili), a giant sabertooth leopard named "Mwindaji" ('Predator' in Swahili), and for the finale he battles a giant baboon named "Shetanisokwe" ('Devil Monkey' in Swahili) in the ruins of an ancient lost city deep in the jungles of Africa.
I understand you don't like the idea of King Kong having a franchise, similar to Godzilla. But for me, I would love to see Kong fight another monster, being a giant orca or even a Frankenstein creation.
That would be an awesome fight. That would be a sequel worth watching. By the way, there were plans for a sequel to KING KONG LIVES, called SON OF KONG, where the baby Kong from the ending grows up, falls for a young blonde mountain climber, but has a bad case of vertigo. Follows her to civilization, which is Paris, where there is a terrorist attack on the Eiffel Tower and climbs up the tower, saves the girl and kills those terrorists. I am not making that up. I found it on some website. After all Dino DeLaurentis' SON OF KONG would have worked wll on paper.
Seriously, why not? If this Legendary Pictures can do THIS sort of thing with the JAPANESE King Kong then DeLaurentis should be able to do likewise with ITS own version of the big ape. I'd actually love to see THIS idea realized on screen.
One thing that could have been mentioned : long before John Huston's In the Beginning (which was supposed to open a series of films of course, until it didn't), Laurentiis had made an international splash (and got Hollywood's attention) with the Odyssey in 1954 and War & Peace in 1956. Also ironic that for all his lust for sequels, he was... ...not qualified to run long term franchises. Kong. Flash Gordon. Dune. Conan and the Hyborian age. Hannibal Lecter.

Funny you mention about king kong fighting a giant orca because willis o brien had a certain concept called baboon tales of the yeti. Its about researchers discovering the legendary yeti and capturing it to bring to civilazation only to meet its unfortunate demise in a climatic battle with Killer Whales(orcas).
Going from other videos, Orca is a lot more than just a Jaws ripoff with it having themes of revenge and guilt and is overall a very depressing movie and not a fun popcorn flick like Jaws.
You better have those reviews ready, cause there's even more a bit ridiculous giant ape monster movies like two released from srs cinema called Konga TNT and one that's supposed to be a tribute to the studios of Godzilla and Ultraman were the main monster is a combination of gorilla and lizard called Zillafoot

"Walt Disney Pictures presents... King Kong 2: The Return to Skull Island!" the Direct to Video sequel to the major motion picture is well into production! TLDR: I think it can be cool to see how you can see what a Direct to Video sequel of your Let's Talk on the idea. But if not, maybe talk about other movie ideas regarding other movie monsters, like Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan, Etc. I just it could get some gears turning. You have to do it (maybe reunite with Hewy Toonmore, or someone who is also fascinated with Kong)...

I imagine Orca would have killed the female lead and that would be Kong's motivation to fight.
So Kong would've had a similar motivation as Orca who went on a killing spree after a specific whaler who killed his pregnant mate.
