- Today, we replace the serpentine belt in the N54. It's a pretty standard job, but when you have intake tubing in the way, and condenser tubing, it gets pretty difficult without the correct tools!
The kit was purchased from FCPEuro: www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw-...
Comes with 2 idlers, one tensioner, and the serpentine belt!

Like some of the video
When you really get to the installation. Camera is on fast mode. If you doing a dyi then show the most important things
People who don’t know trying to install first the first time need to see it all
Thank you
Frank you should put E90/E92/E60/E82 135i/335i/535i etcetera in the description or the title so you can be searched more easily. These vids are great and helpful so everyone should be using them
Thanks Antonio. Those aren’t hash tags. You suggest I hash tag in the description of the videos?
@@Garageaholic Yes Im no RUclips expert but I think hastags in the description would allow people to see your video at the top of the list after searching something generic like 335i or e90
Thank you I’ll give it a try!
Grate videos bud. Grate Mechanic. There my go to videos with my n54 👍 all the way from across the pond in little old uk 😉
Thanks for sharing Frank. I did the serpentine belt when I got the car. And the intake is definitely a pain in the backside! Do you know after how many miles (average) these pullies have to be changed? Regards Nico.
First, as you probably know Nico, I would recommend you first check on the oil leak issues. If there is oil dripping on the belt, it accelerates wear of the belt and the pullies. If there are no oil issues, i would change belt and pullies every 40k-50k miles.
Can I just change the belt? Coolant line leaked all over it so I want to change it but the tensioner ect seem fine.
It is very hard for me to slip the belt back in place.
It’s pretty easy once you get the hang of it
@@Garageaholic I'm here because it's a challenge for me as well.....tensioner pulled back and belt aligned properly ....How it did go for you?
Is there a need always to replace the pulleys? Or can they be reused?
The pulleys usually are replaced because the bearings wear out
@@Garageaholic thanks for the reply and the videos!
