The tragic thing about her career being cut off is that I can tell her voice was capable of far more than what she affected for that one character. I hear it especially in her vocalizations on Whistle While You Work. She never got to demonstrate her full range as a singer.
These two are amazing together my only regret is we don’t get any more of Adriana‘s voice other than snow white because of the conditions what Disney had given her.
She wasn’t credited for the role, she was black listed by Disney in the industry to preserve her as Snow White and only had two other singing roles in film. With her appearance (when she was younger) vocal skill, talent and training she could have been very big. This was Disney’s first princess feature film and maybe if he knew his company would be famous for them he’d have let this woman out of a suffocating contract to meet her potential and realise her dreams. Taking into account inflation she was paid just over 700 usd (equivalent of 22,000 now). Not a lot of money for a lifetime gig,
NNice but then it's perhaps the most famous Disney song of them all. That studio audience actually should have given them a bigger hand at the end - they clearly didn't realize this was a truly historic appearance.
It's said that in his life Walt Disney had four great crowning achievements. The creation of Mickey Mouse, the creation of Disneyland, the creation of Mary Poppins, and the creation of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
They are both such unique and wonderful talents! Both riddled with tragedy. Such a shame about Adriana’s treatment at the hands of Disney. A horrible lose about Julie’s botched surgery losing her amazing range. Both voices trapped away. Heartbreaking
Wonderfuld - I remember seeing this appearance as a child. My family did not watch Julie's show but this episode was a tribute to Disney and was highly publicized so everybody watched it. Now though I wish they had not added the film clips from the movie - every moment of the number should have shown Julie and Adriana - in her only major television appearance - in this historic collaboration.
Adriana Caselotti was one of the most wonderful of stars who signed photos via the mail. She was not rich so there was a charge for her signature, but she supplied the photos herself , you could pick your wants from a photocopy list, and it was quite reasonable - less than ten dollars a photo and she usually sent a bonus signed photo if you ordered three and a nice handwritten note on Snow White stationery!! Quite a bargain and certainly today those photos are worth far more on the resale market.
This is a gracious and wonderful moment that was shared with Adriana Caselotti. Just precious. I've got to show this clip to my daughter. How I wish I could share this lovely video with my parents and listen to their reactions to this beautiful rendition of two childhood songs and of them seeing Snow White and the Seven Drawfs for the first time.
This is one of the very few places where Adriana was Given credit for her amazing, most famous work!!! Listen for her amazing voice in Frank Capra’s “It a Wonderful Life” in Martinis bar!!! ❤❤❤
Beautiful wish I could’ve been alive during this time. I feel Like this generation isn’t for me Not the movies , not the music and definitely not Disney
I’m a millennial who’s home a lot with my parents. And yet I know how you feel. I’ve not been too thrilled with Disney as of late. Or some movies in general for that matter. Encanto was their most recent crowning achievement. But just not enough
This will always be one of my be one of my favorite I hope that Disney would just the new Android least a 4K version like they were going to and just canceled the new.
boy, I would sure like to hear a recording of Adriana Caselotti singing a gospel hymn if there is one. Did she know any old love songs? 50's? 60's? 70's? Country music? I know she's the voice of snow white, but I'm just curious as to what else she could've been able to sing if she tried when she was alive. However, she's gone now. I love Adriana Caselotti I'm glad to have been able to listen to her singing in a higher quality recording.
May she rest in peace. We miss you more today then we did before Adrianna. Because we are so disappointed with the decisions current Disney is making to ruin the memory of Snow White.
@@manuelorozco7760 as a Latina myself, I would be happy to have an original Latina Disney princess than have another person of color cover a historically white character. I understand and respectfully disagree with your opinion, hope you have a good day or night wherever you are.
in lights of the horrible real life snow white movie by Disney, why don't Disney decide to embrace this 1930s-1940s aesthetic in the new movie? I mean the aesthetic is kinda hype with some games like fallout and movies like oppenheimer, why don't they do that??
What's so amazing is that Adriana was able to maintain her high soprano range even into old age.
I've never heard anything like this in my life! It's incredible
Actually it is two steps downed from the original but still a very clear and pure voice.
She was only about 55/56 in this clip
And those staccatos. Those staccatos are so clean for her age. Not even Julie Andrews was able to do it.
She was a classically trained light lyric coloratura soprano
She’s exactly how Snow White would look after years of being a queen 🫶🏻
Disney’s first princess and the flying nanny
Iconic Adriana Caselotti AND goddess Julie Andrews?! We are not worthy.
The tragic thing about her career being cut off is that I can tell her voice was capable of far more than what she affected for that one character. I hear it especially in her vocalizations on Whistle While You Work. She never got to demonstrate her full range as a singer.
I dont know why she was so protected...all the concerts she could have done!
This is the voice you think of when you think of the real disney princess
I love Snow White Cinderella Moana and Raya the most

Which conditions
As a big fan of Snow White since childhood, it makes me feel bitter inside
@@dasnet6846Adriana was given the role of Snow White, at the condition she doesn't reveal her identity to keep the magic alive fot children.

Snow White and Mary Poppins (Adriana Caselotti and Julie Andrews) singing together... Oh God, this is so lovely! 🥰🥰🥰
What a treasure! Julie and Adriana are so amazing. Julie's glorious voice is so sweet and pure,
the fact that caselotti starred in snow white only 2 years after Julie was born
may she rest in peace
I never lived in these times but gosh I miss them. Everything was so simple and beautiful.
How come I never seen this until now? Two Disney Legends together! And boy do they play off each other so well.
I didnt know this existed til now and I cant describe how happy it makes me 🥲such a lovely performance.
The way they applauded her at the start of someday my prince will come 🥺

Back when Disney hired REAL singers to play their characters. I miss these days.
