- A surreal thriller in which the written word is your map, as well as your narrator.
DEVICE 6 plays with the conventions of games and literature, entwines story with geography and blends puzzle and novella, to draw players into an intriguing mystery of technology and neuroscience.
Anna wakes up in a castle on a remote island, with little recollection of how she got there. All she remembers is an unusually unpleasant doll...
Why are there two identical castles on the island? Who is the mysterious man in the bowler hat? And above all, what is the purpose of the tests Anna is put through?
DEVICE 6 launches on iOS in late 2013.

This game was so amazing, whatever you think it'll be like, I promise it's even better. The music is awesome too. The end is sad :(

Did you know in Year Walk Steam Edition that you can play the theme of the game in the owls part, and get an acheivement called OWL6?
Sounds intriguing. Hopefully I can get into this one easier than I could Year Walk.

Year Walk was better
They can't really be compared, ones super unique for a game and the other is hard to even cladmss as one!
If you where to compare, opinions aside:
Puzzles, innovation, audio and music are best in Device 6
Atmosphere and story are better in Year Walk
They have equally good artistic design
So critically Device 6 comes out on top and, seeing as I reviewed them myself I'd give Device 6 a 10 and Year Walk a 9
only reason it doesn't get a 10 is the ending and puzzles, well second ending with the reading. It felt too much like it was a script for a film turned into a game and a lot of the feeling was lost, I personally think a little film, like camera footage filmed on the dudes trip to learn about arsgang would be awesome, keeping it in their own language with subs and stuff, wow it would have been amazing. Plus the puzzles while good where a little less innovative and much less impressive than Device 6 which makes you smile at how intelligent they are. However the beauty of the world made you love being there, something Device 6 couldn't have which is why it's still rated so high imo, not perfect but amazing (if it was on a decimal system it would get 9.5!)

I personally though the music in Year Walk was better. The reason why Year Walk felt a bit like it was turned from a film script to a game is because it was. But apart from the music I mostly agree. Another strength of year walk is that it felt way more interactive-not only were there puzzles that involved things like turning the screen upside down, but you had to close the app, go to the companion and discover the ending by replaying the game. I thought that was really clever.
Friendshipismagic God, the two games are just beautiful and either way it both out opinions and we both know how good they are!
Its all opinion and I played Year Walk first and it introduced me to indie games and blew my mind so much I cant even comprehend so i do love it! But if we are going to be fair we can't compare them! Ones and audio, visual experience, the other is a mid-blowing storytelling adventure where the only things in common is a huge level of polish and innovation and puzzles (plus my opinion on which I prefer changes depending on my mood XD there both too good!)
Both are outstanding games and should set the benchmark for innovations to come, we need more devs than Simogo working on these types of masterpieces!
And yeah i know about the film thin which makes it a little more disappointing hat it wasn't short pieces of film instead of text but still it doesn't take away how ind blowing the whole thing is, I'm still getting over ti over a year later!

Have you seen Simogos blog? They're going to release something to do with Year Walk that isn't a game and I'm personally hoping for a film though that may be too optimistic.
The thing I think made Year Walk so great was it felt more immersive than any game I have ever played as it blended reality with fiction as you had to use both to get to the end and I hope more games emulate that.
