@@Myksgarage I do this for Fiberglass pools as well. Drain the skimmers and return lines empty the pump and filter good to go. No main drain so it's easier dump 4 gallons of pool antifreeze in the water and call it a day.
My fiberglass pool has a skimmer line in to the pump. then thru the filter and chlorinator THEN it out flows to a a diverter. One for the 2 returns on the side and one for the Fountain. Dont have a main drain. Every thing on the out side is glued together except for the out from the filter. How would I go about blowing out my fountain and returns? Excellent video. and thanks for the links.
So i don’t have separate line where I can shut off main drain so I am assuming both running off the skinner line coming in. If you could shed some light I greatly appreciate it. And thanks for this video it was great.
That seems odd that you don’t have a valve that can isolate the main drain. Maybe you only have suction from the skimmer? If that’s the case May only need blow out the skimmer and install that gizmo device.
Not a bad idea, I have a fiberglass pool and therefore cannot lower the pool level as it can damage the structure of the pool, but perhaps other types of pools can be lowered
@@Myksgarage Thanks for the reply. I think I have the same type. How could the structure be damaged if just lowering water below the return line and the skimmer? The pool still has a lot of water.
You should never lower your pool water below the skimmer as it can cause the fiberglass to crack because the pressure under the pool will become greater than the pressure inside the pool. Even if the pool doesn’t crack the pressure can cause it to be lifted out of the ground
Just drain the pool below the skimmer and returns. That's what I do.
That is one way. With mine being fiberglass, I can't drain it below the skimmer.

Through the pump maybe? Hard to know without seeing it

Hey, good video. Some people say I need to lower the water before blowing and plugging. Do you think it is necessary? Thanks. Stephen

I don’t know, it’s what the manufacturer states

@@celestekinseyI always drain it below the skimmers and return. I do this all the time pool professional.
