Chris Here...tonight we have a story from one of our viewers named Michel. In the early 1990s Michael was solo hunting in the Savage River state forest of Maryland. This country is wild and mountainous . While spending the night solo camping Michael had several events happen where he felt he needed to leave for his safety....something followed him out!!

Great job Chris!! This was before cell phones and I wasn't carrying a camera due to weight. I still do over nights in the Savage River State Forest but if that feeling comes over me during daylight I leave but if it's after dark I go on high alert until I feel normal. Sorry I missed your calls. I mistook them for spam.
I'm glad you chose to hit the tree rather than the sasquatch. It might have served to piss him off and make him attack you! I've been on motorcycle rides on deep forest trails & camped overnight. Had unexplained rocks splashing in the water, found a very large "bear nest", unexplained sounds, deafening cicadas that went silent like a switch flipped etc, etc... didn't know anything of Bigfoot then.. but now I believe some of those unexplained incidents very well could have been Bigfoot. Glad I didn't know then or I would have killed myself trying to ride those treacherous trails out in the darkness.. not a good idea!
There’s two types of Bigfoot believers. The ones that will hear/see something in the woods and go “nope, I know what that is and im out” see you all at home (me). Or the other kind, (like Chris) that would say “cool! A tree knock! Move I need to get my camera!” Enjoy it Chris I hope someday you get that selfie and live to tell the story ❤

@@bigfoot-5150When I had my encounter, the thought of trying to get a picture of it never even crossed my mind. I was quite literally paralyzed with fear. It was a level of terror that I did not know existed. I can honestly understand how people can piss themselves, or lose their bowels, or blackout or faint, when they are scared bad enough. That didn't happen to me, but after having experienced that kind of fear, I really can see how it could happen. In that moment, pulling out a phone or camera to get a picture or video, or even pulling out a weapon to defend myself (I was armed at the time) was literally impossible for me. I was completely frozen. It just cannot be overstated how paralyzing, and completely overwhelming that kind of fear truly is. It is almost incomprehensible. Words just dont even come close to adequately describing it. I was the very definition of helpless in that moment.
Heck yes! Recovery has changed everything! I got 20 months with zero mind altering substances. Can't wait to see where life takes me! I hope your life is amazing, always remember how strong u are. U can do anything.
I am in recovery and am at 35 days sober today from alcohol. Your sentiments with the N.A. beer are much appreciated.! Keep up the great content.

My husband is a 30 yr. recovering alcoholic and always enjoys your stories and beer reviews. He really got a kick out of tonight’s “non alcoholic” review. We also liked the one you did on the root beer! No matter what you drink we enjoy your videos immensely. Nope none my kids would be in woods playing regardless of encounter, especially in any these hotspots l. I’m in Scotland so I think I’m ok, but still there are so many dangers lurking in the woods l. So good call sir!
That's exactly how I felt.thats why I told about what I saw. Oh yeah people said aw you seen a bear. No mam for the fifteenth time it was not a bear. Scaredy cat

Hi Chris, just days ago I was camped deep in the Francis Marion swamp wilderness in South Carolina for 17 days (my van broke down 4 days in and then I was awaiting rescue for 12 days, which finally came from a random angel!). On two separate nights, I heard for over 2 hours sounds that I've never heard before. It wasn't any kind of animal I was familiar with or knew to be in that area. I heard other wildlife but this was different. Much different. Clearly a very large creature based on the vocalizations. It sounded very Squatchy: howls, yelps, high-pitched elongated screams. It was the middle of the night on both occasions and I just lay there frozen and listening, completely enthralled, amazed, and a bit unnerved at what kind of creature was just yards from me out in the pitch black swamps. It sent chills up my spine. Anyway, just wanted to share my recent experience.

@kattilathehunfreedomfighter Glad you got rescued... that had to be horrifying! I won't go into the wilderness without a gps sattelite messenger and small battery bank. Too many things can happen, and they do. We have the technology to stay safe, we need to be using it.
Swampland is the last place you'll find me camping! Mudwamps and slithering reptiles are more unnerving to me.
As a Canadian of Metis descent, you should talk to Sabe or Big foot to tell them you are not here to harm them.

Whew! That was a good story! Kind of creepy. I DO know the "gut feeling" of feeling something is not right. I think that when the wildlife ceases to be active, THEY know something is off. I have learned that being aware of your surroundings really makes a difference.

Having never felt it myself, they say it's as if the entire forrest is holding its breath. I gotta admit that I would like to have that feeling and to be armed when I experience it.

I have heard tree knocks. They were very forceful and solid. No person could have created those tree knocks. Just prior to the tree knocks, a large tree was heard falling down, without a trace of wind. This transpired about twenty miles southeast of Truckee, Ca. As the crow flies. Around 2010. Very memorable.
I never hear tree knocks. But I always hear the breaking of branches and the sound of movement when I go camping. Sometimes hiking trails are block by trees that have been pushed over. I think Sasquatch is just the protector of the forests. It's their home range. They're just there trying to survive just like you and me.

My Dog and I have had 2 encounters, and the stench was vomit invoking. It didn't seem aggressive, and it was on my small ranch near Ft Campbell KY/TN ... judging on where my gunsights were from 10 feet it was 9 ft tall. Thanks for sharing.

I’m from Paris,TN. About 45 minutes due west of Ft. Campbell. When I was 14, (1975) something very heavy jumped on the roof of our house and walked across. BOOM… BOOM… BOOM… every time its foot came down. It very slowly walked across the roof then jumped off. I heard a big THUD when it hit the ground. I was alone and terrified.

Outdoor living skills. You certainly have them. Many of us, in the 21st century, no longer have those skills.
I'll bet that, if you had to, you could survive a winter, living outdoors. You could stay warm, and safe.
We happened to check to see if you did an upload. One of us had an encounter. In a discussion with the First Nation's People, they stated that if you see these beings more than once; you've been marked. Thanks for this weeks' encounter. Cheers!!! 🍻

I find it amazing that you outdoor guys don't know about the El Nino and La Nino cycles. The happen once every 7 to 12 years.
Right now we are in an El Nino cycle. That's why it's drier and warmer than usual.
Usually after an El Nino cycle the following winter will be pretty freakin heavy!

I had a camping experience in MD too when i was a kid. A couple years later i saw one standing in the open in the middle of a cove in almost the same exact spot Wed camped in a couple years earlier.

Another good one Chris! Love your hat so much I went online and got myself one and one for a male friend who had a Bigfoot cross the road in front of him years ago in California. Been trying to get him to share his story with you.
He said right after several cars passed him in the left lane, coming towards him, it stepped out in front of him on the right without looking at him. John stopped and watched, not sure what he was looking at. It was covered with bright orange-red fur, its arms hanging down, not swinging, and crossed the two lane road in 3 large steps, before entering the grass area on the left. He was still sitting there watching it, but said it disappeared - there were no trees or bushes to hide behind, just open grasses. John is pretty chill, as an astrologer he's used to dealing with things out of the realm of the ordinary, and realized there was nowhere it could have gone, nothing to hide behind. He said to himself, "I just saw a Bigfoot!"
John was adamant about its coloring so when I ordered his hat, he wanted the Bigfoot printed in orange-red thread. So his hat is khaki with a bright gold-orange BF!
Glad you acknowledged that on the alcohol issue. Heineken has the best zero alcohol beer, for those who don't consume any alcohol in any amount but still enjoy a nice cold brew, like me.
The best non-alcoholic beer is Radler from Krombacher. ❤🍺

Another great story, Chris! Ive talked to hunting guides who say bears will sometimes make a kill, cover it up for later, then return and many times will roll around on the carcass. It may be to mask the bear smell of their bodies so they can sneak up on prey. Maybe the Bigfoot will do something similar. You bring up a great point. Bears or wolves, or mountain lion will be silent while stalking game.
He was smart, And very brave to shoot the rifle. I would have been fearful to make that trip back to the car.
One of these days, you’re gonna be out in the woods telling a story, mimicking a Sasquatch, and find out you’re unknowingly imitating the Sasquatch mating call. Ouch. Gonna leave a mark.

Need to compliment the beautiful panoramic scenic backdrop view you picked with the smooth rolling hills, it has a nice calming mid winter look for your area.
No kidding a predator keeps quiet and dead still ready to launch an attack, whereas bigfoot on the other hand does all the above you mentioned.
Oh goodness your whoops sounded pretty good...next thing I'm thinking is you attracted the attention of a curious sasquatch might wander close by!

Thanks Chris for your Sunday post. I live in Norther BC, walk 1 km to civilization for provisions on the sea. When I walk the forest road, I listen for forest sounds, do not go out in the dark. I did two nights ago heard dogs howling around me quickened my pace because they were communicating something. Had 6 bear experiences in Alberta and BC, Lions Bay around my house over 14 years. I could watch them from up above on my 3rd level deck, planted raspberry bushes below didn't upkeep them very thorny. One large bear went through the bushes eating oblivious to the thorns, just glad to have them for the bears. He couldn't smell me. Thanks for your insightful situations.
My blind female cocker spaniel would only growl when a bear was present. She never growled. Each time she growled I would view my decks and the Mt terrain on my property lo and behold a bear was always on the property could have easily smashed any if my French window doors.
I'm more afraid of bears than Sasquatch and would never plant berry bushes right outside my door like that. @@camclarke8796

I live in NC! We definitely have Bigfoots here! I have never seen one but i totally believe. You are a great storyteller and i listen to you every night! I am a 63 yr old woman and use to work with Juvenile Detention kids out in the woods for 6 week straight many years ago. I dont drink but i enjoy seeing the pictures of the cans you drink lol KEEP HIKING!!

This is great as usual,a couple of things I wanted to say the first in Vermont we can't have a flashlight and guns at night during deer season and the other thing was I only heard of one encounter with Bigfoot had no smell really and he was really close!!!
I'd imagine that law means you can't hunt at night with a gun. Many use a light to see where they are going at night.

Oh my God, I am about 8miles from this story. This scared me bc I have been wondering about Bigfoot here in my area. I worked for many yrs. 2miles fro. This state park. My son and I went for a drive to this place I was very uneasy the entire time we were there . The dam was so large and I kept telling my son that I wanted out of that place. Then Sunday I decided to watch your show at halftime. Boy.ws I shocked to see Savage River, Md!!! The story blew my mind..Thanks Michael for sharing and Chris for your great story telling ability. I have a brother who hunts alot. I ask him about any weird happenings while on the woods. He laughed. He said never and did I believe in Bigfoot? This video starts out great. I've not had any alcohol in nine years. Why? One may ask. Well, its because I am a diabetic 2. As some might know alcohol turns into sugar and sugar is the Kryptonite of people with diabetes.

If I were doing camping stories, ( I won't ever do camping stories, as my story tell skills are horrific.); I'd start off with great coffees, Bustelo, Sanka, Maxwell House, or Starbucks? For the city dwellers.
