- The best part about this week's video?? The background commentary on the way to Cape Wrath! I haven't laughed this much in a long time...
This week, I go on an adventure to Cape Wrath - Scotland's last wilderness. Yep, that means ANOTHER ferry!! This time, a 'mini' ferry though, followed by a very bumpy bus ride to the famous lighthouse at the most north westerly point of Great Britain.
And to finish off the day, I spend a sunny afternoon on the beach! Life's good.

Oh Helen, this film brought back so many great memories. Me and a friend did this trip many years ago, (before the bridge, days of the ford) and the weather was exactly the same. What an adventure we had. Starting with the ferry! it was more like the little boat in your film and the minibus, well we all looked at each other (there was 8 of us) we couldn't believe what we were seeing, the body was all rusty and the tyres were bald. Our driver was a laugh too, I think he new what we were all thinking "Don't worry the brakes work" he said with a wink. We arrived at the light house "I'll be back in an hour" he announced. Hour and a half later we were still waiting, every one was beginning to look a little concerned. There was no cafe back in the day. We were all just sat around on the rocks. Then suddenly we heard a voice from the light house "Attention every one, the minibus has broken down, so I will be taking you back in my Landrover" Oh my goodness, what a laugh, we all just about managed to get a seat, we suddenly all became very good friends! We did laugh. But the problem was by the time we got back to the "ferry" the tide had gone out, so we had to climb over the rocks that were all covered in seaweed. It was a great adventure, wouldn't have missed it for the world. Thanks Helen, you took me back over 45 years. PS sorry for rambling on so much. Take care x
Found your channel by chance, as I am looking to take a trip to the orkney islands in April in my stealth van.
Realy good info and fun content.
And blue skies and warmth always makes you feel alive
Safe travels.
I stayed in Cape Wrath Lodge for 10 months, 2 years ago, certainly brings back memories, the ferry man is called Kenny and he lives in the village 👍
Brilliant video, did that Cape Wrath trip two years ago, its well worth doing, but it certainly a bumpy ride along that track.
Just found ur channel. Brilliant content! It’s nice to see someone living their best life.
Really enjoyed your trips in Scotland so far. Looking forward to your adventures to the amazing west coast and western isles 🏴
Thank you! Glad you like the videos
Breathtaking!! Perfect day and just so beautifully shot too. 25 quid is an absolute bargain because actually, a trip like that is simply priceless
Thank you! I thought £25 was a bargain too... some of these types of tourist trips are so expensive! Glad you liked the video
Another nice video. Your smiles show how good a day it was
Thank you! It was the best

Ah hello! And thank you, glad you liked the video!
The Weather makes a massive difference. Great video as always.
It really does! Thank you so much!
Cape Wrath looks incredible 😍. This whole day looked incredible, making me wanna get in my car and drive up to Scotland for a while.
Definitely do it! Maybe sooner rather than later, to beat the summer rush!
Selling tourism tips in Scotland very well lol. Travelling Scotlands wilderness is now definitely on my list. I am to go to Edinburgh at Christmas, I now know my route lol
Edinburgh at Christmas sounds amazing! Glad you liked the video
@@nell0uise hopefully it snows lol
Wonderful video. Definitely worth the money to explore the Cape. Always think the local transport people, boats, buses as brilliant, proper characters. About the bed, a lot of my van friends have taken out the rock roll bed and made a sliding sofa come bed. So comfy. And yes finding different stones is very fascinating, so love the different colours and textures. Wish I new more
Wouldn't the sliding sofa into a bed be the same concept though? I find it such a faff! I'm thinking about removing the rock n roll bed and building a static bed width ways, which will give me so much more storage as well! A project for the summer
@@nell0uise most have made there sofa bed length ways down one side of the van with storage underneath. You don't have to make it into a bigger bed as I don't normally pull it out to make wider. But they ate a lot more comfortably. But then again if you can make a bed across the van and works for you, even better. As you know it's all about storage.
@@asaandthemarchharepart267 Oh I see! I probably would have built it like that if I converted it from scratch. I'd have to rip out my kitchen to do that now though. I think I'll just about fit width ways... we'll see haha
@@nell0uise as long as your comfortable, always need our sleep 😴 I hope you can make it work. All the best with it. Your travels around the Isles and Scotland are amazing. What a coastline. Keep up the wonderful adventures
