“The closer we are to danger, the further we are from harm” Applies here pretty well. The more aggressive they are to predators and instead of run show they can retaliate, the less other animals want to mess with them.

Random fact: lemme ya aren’t suicidal this started in a Disney documentary in 1959 where the documentary crew Threw the lemmings off a cliff to make it seem like they are suicidal.

Like "rescuing" a black bear stranded in the water of the Everglades, when they had drugged it and dumped it there themselves.
I had 4 cats 3 of them hunt to kill but buddy use to bring hedge voles tiny little things herbivores primarily and put them on my bed and be like look what I have for you and the voles would run for shelter normally into my cupped hands to be put back outside near the hedges . but one morning buddy brought me in an extra large present of a big field rat and I told him no not him. He looked at me let it go and pinned it with his paws as if to say 3.2.1 . Run . 😂😂😂 catching that fucker to throw him out the window was a bloody nightmare as buddy sat on the bed watching and the other 3 cats came ripping into the room full hunt to kill mode
Ironically, that was most likely the mouse's idea of a hiding spot 💀 one time while I was in the sauna, I had music playing from my phone, a big vole sauntered over under the door completely oblivious to me. I said hi and they froze, then ran into a corner of the room, and then realised I could still see them so they ran out of the sauna and that was the last I saw of them. But THE OPEN CORNER was their first idea to hide in 😅
Interesting fact: when little animals like this lemming or mice/moles/rats jump from high cliffs/buildings, they don’t reach velocities fatal to them, especially if they spread eagle otw down.

I actually have 2 pet lemmings and they are great. They just relax and mind their own business all day. Drink a boatload of water every day. And they are actually fairly friendly. I wouldn’t leave them alone with kids but if you’re around them they generally behave

@@frost.xx456 In the late 80s early 90s there was a computer system called the Acorn Archimedes. I had an Acorn 3000 upgraded to RiscOS 3. It has some cracking games... one of which was Lemmings. The original game, significantly better than all the modern Lemmings games put you in levels where you had to instruct your Lemmings to climb, dig, build, explode etc in order to save as many souls as possible. Superb game. Not as good though as another Acorn game and what I consider to be the best game of all time... Cataclysm. There is nothing like it and has never been anything close to its simplicity, difficulty and just shear addictiveness down to its challenge rather than just shiny shiny.
I got bitten by a lemming once before I knew what it was. I was snowboarding, taking a break, and just sitting on top of the mountain, enjoying myself after smoking a doobie, so I was feeling pretty good. Lemmings are actually not s*icidal, the only reason that got thrown around was because of Disneys film ‘Winter Wildness’ that was made in 1958 where there is a scene that portrays lemmings ‘jumping’ off the edge of a cliff, Disney refused to admit they were throwing these little creatures off when there is blatant video evidence of them doing so, the way the lemmings were ‘jumping’ was like they were thrown off and a lot tried to pull themselves back up onto the cliff to save themselves. @@frost.xx456 In the late 80s early 90s there was a computer system called the Acorn Archimedes. I had an Acorn 3000 upgraded to RiscOS 3. It has some cracking games... one of which was Lemmings. The original game, significantly better than all the modern Lemmings games put you in levels where you had to instruct your Lemmings to climb, dig, build, explode etc in order to save as many souls as possible. Superb game. Not as good though as another Acorn game and what I consider to be the best game of all time... Cataclysm. There is nothing like it and has never been anything close to its simplicity, difficulty and just shear addictiveness down to its challenge rather than just shiny shiny.

I got bitten by a lemming once before I knew what it was. I was snowboarding, taking a break, and just sitting on top of the mountain, enjoying myself after smoking a doobie, so I was feeling pretty good. Then I looked over, and I was like, "Oh, look, a cute hamster! How did you get up here?" I reached out to try to grab and pet it since it was coming my way, thinking it was friendly. That's when it bit my finger. Then my friends laughed at me and said that's a lemming not a hamster 😂

Lemmings are actually not s*icidal, the only reason that got thrown around was because of Disneys film ‘Winter Wildness’ that was made in 1958 where there is a scene that portrays lemmings ‘jumping’ off the edge of a cliff, Disney refused to admit they were throwing these little creatures off when there is blatant video evidence of them doing so, the way the lemmings were ‘jumping’ was like they were thrown off and a lot tried to pull themselves back up onto the cliff to save themselves. So yeah another Disney fun fact 👍🏻
