The parallel is this: Being indie, all you have is the product you offer. So if that product takes a dip in quality, it becomes extremely hard to turn heads your way/extremely easy to lose folk’s attention. Chance can come back and have a solid music career, but it will never be the same velocity as before. He has the potential even to rise above his previous plateau, though his impact will never posses the same force it once had.
