U r not supposed to use amalgam without a zinc phosphate base to prevent leaching of amalgam into the underlying tissue

You may also use varnish instead of base when cavity is not deep

At 3:34 you are carving a huge chunk of the mesial marginal ridge and then one second later it's all gone. You skipped showing some of the most important steps there. How to card the MMR, how to remove the band properly etc.

I've had my amalgam filling since I was 8 years old. I'll turn 48 this year (that's 40 years!). So they last way longer than what the dentist tell you. I haven't had ANY problems with them. The ones I replaced with composite had to end up getting crowns because composite is obviously a terrible filling. I won't be replacing anymore of my silver fillings because I like having my real teeth.

I got most of mine in the period from when I was 15 to 18. I'm 57 now and the first one just failed and required a root canal and crown. Got around 40 years out of it.

Not enough clearance bucco-lingually. Bucall exit angle has to be 90°, here it is more of a 65°

If u r afraid from damaging the adjacent tooth u can apply matrix band on adjacent tooth
