Blessings to the Native Americans. Whosoever reads this might laugh, but when I was a boy I loved movies about "Indians". I would always side up with them, and would have preferred seeing them win all the wars. I wanted to be Indian and used to play being an Indian chief; my mother bought me the headgear with the feathers, the toy weapons, I even used to paint my face. I was very serious about it, I wanted to be Indian. I have no Indian ancestors, but I would have loved to. A big hug for all the Native American people ❤️ That land is your land! I live in Spain now, that's why I said "that land". God bless you all❤️

I am sorry, my husband passed away in 2007, and all I know about Native American Indians is they are so VERY loving to their families.
He was my soulmate...even without words we communicated...
There are plenty of u tube Videos about many different tribes in the United States.
Just type in which one you want to research and go for it. Libraries also have many books on that subject.
      I myself am from Europe.
So i can ONLY tell you about his temperament, from my fond memories of him, and i would be too biased to be objective!

This brings back wonderful memories. Winterhawk was filmed outside of Kalispell, Montana. I lived there as a child and remember when they filmed this. I knew the man who owned many of the horses including the leopard appy that winterhawk rides, amazing animal, more so when I seen him in person. I no longer live in Montana,so when I watch this it makes me very homesick for the mountains. Beautiful country.

@@Human4Peace maybe you should bone up on history, and acquire something called perspective. really, whose land? the lakotas? they were forced out of canada/minnestoa/wisconsin by the ojibwe, so the lakota moved to the plains and started slaughtering over half a dozen tribes and took their land, like the navajo did to the hopi, and so on and so on. Just no understanding of history.
Lands have been conquered and reconquered throughout the history of the human race. Hey, guess what? 3 different archeology digs on the west coast have found evidence of stone age tools that orginated in france, which were here 5000 years before the "natives" moved here. I guess its europeans land? how about the races that were here tens of thousands of years ago? were the neanderthal here? looksl ike there is evidence of that. I know !!, whose land is the mesopotamia area? persians? which ones? achaemenid? parthian? sassanian? or macedonian? seleucid? or the arab khans that took over after the sassanian? the assyrians? they had it for a while, the hittites? the medes? the elamites? same could be said for egyptians, who are the rightful owners of that land? try not to be so simple minded please, it is tiresome to see.

This was filmed where I grew up and the early scenes with the games was filmed a couple of miles from my house. The public was able to hang around and watch them film. I remember they must have shot the axe throwing take 30 or more times trying to get the axe to stick. I was in about 3rd or 4th grade and one day our school took a field trip to watch them film. The following Sunday, my dad, sister and I were extras standing on the hill during the kidnap scene. It wasn't planned. We were with a bunch of people sitting on the hill watching when a producer came around and asked if we wanted to be in the film. Then on que, they just had us meander around the side of the hill. I met some of the actors including Woody Strode (the black dude and he was very cool) and Denver Pyle but didn't get to meet Dawn Wells or the guy that played Winterhawk since they didn't hang around the set much between takes. It's funny to read comments about it being a classic. It was anything but. It was considered mostly a flop and only played at a handful of theaters. Most people made fun of it because of the "goofs" in it including telephone poles visible in one of the intro scenes. Also, several of the scenes after the kidnap showed Winterhawk and his band riding through freshly cut grain fields. You can even see the rows and combine tracks still in the ground. Over the years I looked everywhere for this movie and only found it once in the early 1990's on VHS in the bargain bin at Target for like $3. It was never carried by rental places like Blockbuster, Hollywood Video, etc. LOL So yes, it's a great film but no it wasn't a classic and has spent most of it's existence in obscurity.

I know I left a comment when I saw this movie months ago.
I wanted to leave another comment as I saw this in my recommended.
I've watched quite a few movies and documentaries on our American Indians.
With that being said, I can fully understand why a lot of people men and women who were once "kidnapped" or taken to a Indian tribe were reluctant to go back to civilization with the white people.
It gives you such a humble feeling to appreciate and loving to live off the land.
If I were put in the same situation I would give up every modern piece of technology and stay with them as well.

My Great Grandmother was. Lakota Sioux, given as a life for life to my ancestors as they had found an injured Indian boy , nursed him back to health. He directed them to his fathers camp. He was the Chiefs son🥰 I am 3rd generation since with indian traits and instincts which have guided me through my 69 years. Love and compassion for all life led me to studying and learning of the ancient ways which led me on a life of service to others. Now I am getting old and I see how lufe has changed and is now coming back around to those living ancestors of the ones who came to conquer and destroy.

@@ptolemyglenn79 that is true...ancestors of my relatives who are Mandan, Arikara and Hidatsa, (in what is now southern No. Dakota) were chased off and murdered by the Sioux. No, nobody wants to talk about that. I was born and raised on the Standing Rock. The Sioux - way back then - were feared and hated by many peaceful tribes.... even as near ago as 20 years, my niece was warned off Sioux boys by her Mandan Grandmother!

Well, @@BigDawg99xx, the entire Human Race has been moving around our Earth for as long as there has been man. The old Indians did not believe they 'owned' the land; they lived upon it in war and in peace. The Earth endures. Man, no matter what his/her ancestry, are short-lived. We all bleed red.....we ALL have been pitted against one another using our differences of skin colour and culture... and by being so divided have been kept slaves of the Elite Cabal for Centuries. Time to put that aside and look behind the veil.....time to rise up together and defy the 'slave masters'. I thought so at first too but they explained in the movie narrative at the beginning of the movie that he was born from whites that blended with them as many did in the time, and his family accepted him so it seemed more real after the explanation of those times. I have only a wish that the clothing was more authentic much like Dances with wolves from today's movies.

Yes, that's right. Because a woman took a bite of a apple. then a very awesome man named Jesus (with magical abilities), said, well everyone it's all her fault, she deceived her boyfriend so now you are all EVIL! Or some thing or another.
We are animals period. We simply cannot accept the fact that we were born and not have a purpose on the planet so we make stuff up for joy, for purpose, for change, for order, for ruling, for celebration, etc...
