    So close to a good upgrade, should drill out the mount and add a spacer through the rail as well. Maybe next time lol
    Spacer would allow the bushings to be slightly compressed and this would give even more strength to that mount area.

    A purple syxxes or alpha decal on the green rail brace would look sick

    Changed a track and found a cracked bearing...guess it was a very worth while upgrade I made. I think your upgrade is very well worth it especially after seeing PT.1

    I would prefer to see a wider scissor mount come with the rail stiffeners, along with some larger brackets that are welded or machined into the rail stiffeners. Along with a 1 piece bushing pressed all the way through them both. Still seems like a bit of a Bandaid and if any issues arise it will be a real pain to fix again. Better than new but not as good as it could be

    Question to maybe talk about or answer if at all possible. I wonder if I could put a alpha one skid in my 2014 m8000? Like I know it will be a lot of work but I just was wondering if that was at all possible. BTW I live in Palmer Alaska and am a huge fan. I’ve watched every single video and the “ MR.CHOW!” Cracks me up every time. Keep up the awesome videos!

      Im in peters creek and if you ride willow or caswell and saw an arctic cat green yamaha nyrto rippin about last winter that was me. But as for AC, dude run and run fast. I worked for erpac in eagle river and just getting stock oem parts from AC was like pulling teeth and when the parts showed up for my customers it was usually 2 months later at a minimum, im not joking. Go doo or poo, theres a reason they are at the top.

    • @syxxes
      @syxxes  2 года назад

      You sure can. I've actually seen someone do it when they first came out. The skid mounts up exactly the same. I've had the same issue with Doo and Polaris seems to be suffering worse than anyone for supply chain issues for their parts. It's more of a Covid thing than a manufacturer thing.

      @@big_ute I hate how Team CC treats there customers. I’ve had a summit and it was always such a pain getting the dess key reprogrammed cause it would always stop working randomly.

    When the alpha skids first came down the assembly line, I picked one up and it was so much lighter than the dual rail skids I could put it in place one handed and install mount hardware with the other, took me a total of about 40-45 seconds to toss an alpha in

    Will you be running more front skid shock pressure?(65psi plus)

    • @CalgaryDynastar
      @CalgaryDynastar 2 года назад

      Air shocks should really be set based on sag for best performance. Depends on rider weight etc.

    • @zp9898
      @zp9898 2 года назад

      @@CalgaryDynastar roumer has it that the front shock is valved too light and bottoms hard and cracks up front , and guys under 200 lbs are having to go above 65 psi to prevent this regardless of sag. No idea though, I don't ride with anyone with an alpha.

  • @chrisborns5972
    @chrisborns5972 2 года назад

    The original threaded bolt design shouldn't have passed FMEA round 1 especially since the cost of the alternative was cheaper. These are things every CAT loyalist should take a pause to consider if they really want to do R&D for such a carelessly haphazard company.

  • @mikespooner63
    @mikespooner63 2 года назад

    That's still a tiny bolt considering..

  • @chrisborns5972
    @chrisborns5972 2 года назад

    This Alpha system sounds super weak. At a weight and cost penalty are we sure it is worthwhile, considering you have to blow another pile of money to add more weight to keep it together.
