can we get a video where all the gmbn/gmbn tech guys, just go out for a group ride, slaps some corners, train down some trails, just enjoy all riding together, i think gmbn sometimes gets so wrapped up with making lists and explaining things that they forget to make some content that shows what we all love about mountain biking, which is pratting about with our mates :)
Yes that would be awesome. Maybe each month a rider picks there favourite ride. Jumps, technical rides, downhill, bike parks etc. Even incorporate different riding styles, skills, but have fun. Talk about why they like it.
"I think that's a Martin Ashton problem" lol, the grin on his face is infectious. This video is brilliant showcasing tech that can get riders back out riding. I'm able bodied and I want a go on a bowhead!!!
@@Fred_the_1996 I think he meant if the tragedy happened to him. I feel the same way, but humans has always underestimated themselves. Humans could not have survived in this treacherous environment if we are not adaptable.
I am very happy to see GMBN spending money on the right thing! The chap on the wheelchair who designed, manufactured and improved every single evolution of the Bowhead is a genius and should be well sponsored by you guys! WIN WIN, good thing done!
As a disabled rider, the connection to independence is spot on. The ability to get yourself out for a ride makes a huge difference. Come out to Utah to ride!
The man who created this bike deserves to be a freaking Gazillionaire. Unbelievably intelligent and life changing, yet still amazing for people who don’t experience the additional challenges. Hats off to you, Christian. Well done, sir. 👏
Mad respect for you Martyn. No doubt you are paving the way for even more individuals to find freedom and joy riding with their mates again. And props to Christian for being a genius at creating off-road adaptive devices.
Martyn's Bowhead is an amazing bit of tech. The freedom it gives him is awesome as he said. Every video he does either by himself or with other riders like you Doody or Blake etc everyone is smiling ☺. Great stuff #GMBNTech 🤘
Truly a game-changer for Martyn, for sure. Seei g Martyn riding Whistler was the most inspiring sight to see, truly. I love how everyone is fully supportve of Martyn, and you can just see how passionate this guy is with biking, and his craft; you just can't let that good stuff sizzle and dwindle without a good fight. Much respect for everyone... ❤️
Fantastic for Martyn - clearly a free spirit and to be able to give him that independence back is so good to see. Can't wait to see Doddy fold himself up to get on it haha!
Martyn is seriously awesome! He is fast on trail! Can see he is having such a great fun. The big family of GMBN is amazing too. Love & respect from Singapore.
As a physio who works in disability and also a keen mountain bike rider I found this video inspiring, fascinating and just great fun. Love how the technology allows you freedom Martin,.
In 99 I had a medical review panel tell me i would be in a wheelchair by 2009 due to a degrative spinal injury.. i was discharged from the service ... it took a lot of my drive per say ... i gave up pretty much everything physical that i enjoyed to save my back (golf and mountain biking)... i have spent since then working on it and figuring out hope to cope ... I am not in a wheelchair (but 2 inches shorter now) ... and pain is limited to occasions of moving the wrong way. I still cant play golf but in July i started riding again... and a ridged at that (cause its what i can afford) ... i don't ride trails like a used to but still its heaps of fun and i get back in nature and work my cardio ... after seeing this, i now know if the worst does happen i still can have that joy. TY for showing and Martin keep shredding my man... i now just wished i never lost track of my K2 i had in germany ... anyone got a k2 66 comp? lol
Martyn is the man! love seeing that big smile of his. That's what bikes are for! and I was surprised Doddy didn't try to tear apart that Bowhead somewhere on the trail, just to see all the details :)
This video just made my day. Martin is such an awesome guy and it is so great to see how the entire GMBN team is so supportive. His laugh and love for the thrill of riding is infectious. Keep shredding Martin and thanks so much for sharing you passion for mountain biking. Cheers 🍻
Martyn, you are an inspiration, I loved you in the old days before your accident when you rode for Cannondale, you still have the skill man.!!!!!! I've had to stop riding due to Multiple Sclerosis but would love a Bowhead.
This video is just fantastic. While I am not going to say I had an injury anything even close to the level Martin has had, I do know what it is like to be kept from a sport you love due to an injury, and it is devastating to say the least (I had to leave my dojo for good post a really bad shoulder injury, and had torn my quad tendon 10 years previously as well). Watching the joy and independence that this bike brings Martin is really REALLY cool and rather inspirational, thank you guys for showing this to us, and especially Martin for putting himself out there and not saying no despite the odds, 'kia kaha' dude!. My hats off to you guys, with everything going on in the world currently, we need more positivity like this - keep up the great work!
first I saw back in their Whistler visit series, I knew one day Martyn will own one. It's such a beautiful peace of engineering for the diff. abled people to keep MTB in their life.
What's with the 12 thumbs down?? That is truly an amazing and liberating piece of equipment. I can certainly appreciate the value of that and how significant it can be for someone. One of my childhood friends has cerebral palsy and had a 4 wheel electric mobility chair when we were growing up, sitting low over the ground similar that Bowhead. He came along with us on bike-packing/camping trips in the woods around Oslo (Norway). Parked the chair at a nearby lodge to charge while we all camped for the night and we were off riding the long way home again the next day - and that was some 30 odd years ago! I'd probably get myself a Bowhead when I'm too old and fragile to ride 2 wheels !
Great piece of tech. While the rear suspension does a good job on the jumps, a horizontal gyroscope may help reduce the rear wheel "kick" that the bike gets off some of the jumps. But then, that may just encourage Martyn to hit jumps faster, so maybe it's not a good idea.
I have been waiting for this bike check for many years! Cheers Martyn!!! Such a rad dude, you inspire millions of us with such enthusiasm for the sport and for life itself👊🤠
He's great... the love for the mtb sport and the resilience he has is truly inspirational really we don't understand how lucky we are to have all and sometimes we whining about nonsenses... really he's an inspiration.
Ashton is awesome, a true inspiration to never give up and to find a way to keep doing what you love regardless of the situation handed to you by life.
I got an ebike after my Parkinson's disease progressed to the point that i could no longer ride a regular mtb for any great distance and it transformed my life and people say to me that im an inspiration tk which i brush off as nonsense but yoh Martyn Ashton rdalky are a true inspiration and a hero of mines. I try to live life by your mantra:- DON'T QUIT! RESPECT!❤
Awesome video! You can see how much joy it brings to Martyn. Such a cool thing to see. Do you ever have issues of bikes coming up behind you quickly? Or not being seen?
Does it countersteer like a motorcycle? I see Martyn leans his upper body and turning his head in the direction of the curve which is correct body positioning. Maybe it would work.
Love this video! Great to see the details of the engineering of this bike. Would be awesome to join someone, on the trails, with one of these to see it action.
I used to ride mountain bikes in Fish Creek Park with Christian Bagg when we were in our early 20’s and he was always into tinkering with inventions and products in the shop. It’s so awesome to see his success following his passions!
I literally get choked up when I see stuff like this. I can watch a tear jerky movie with my girl and not feel a thing, but when its real life, and this much passion involved, it brings tears of joy to my face. Same thing happens when I watch sports and when you hear a player talk about how much they love playing for a city or for their teammates…. Whatever it may be. Idk, but I am so glad ppl are able to get out just like anyone else and hit the trails! Thank god for the bowhead and the ppl behind it.
I want one of yeses so bad! Bloody awesome! I was super active, kart racing, horse riding, bodybuilding, walking etc. Before I could not do much at all and now I can't pedal. I'm here looking at mobility scooters lol and saw this and thought, nah I want one of these. Do you think they'd let me round Asda in it too 🤣 Amazing engineering, what a legend to make this! I'm literally looking it up.
Nice to see Martyn safety first. especially on things that can go very wrong very quickly, and hats off to Christian for making so those of altered ability can still get out on the trails and to you Martyn for showing people of altered Abilities still have the same wants as the next person. I thought that sign said Slow, I suppose slow is fairly dependent on your belief in what is slow.
So new SRAM platform suspension for independent sensitivity on each of the front wheels - would that translate to faster shredding and more stability in the corners?
Great seeing a feature length on this. Next feature the adaptive MTB by Alex Desmond, Orange Bikes and Lorraine Truon; Jeremy P. McGhee or the UNPavement project? More features with Bowhead themselves would be great, too. I'd love to see these going mainstream. #askgmbn
Amazing guys. I've been waiting for this one. Martin you really push that bike and of course have a natural feeling for balance that it let's you exploit. Love to try it. When will you enter an event for its own class?
Awesome looking bit of kit and just incredible to keep people out there riding. My only observation is the rear end really seems a bit wild. Not sure if its the rebound on the shockie, or just weight distribution, but every time Martin seems to catch a little air the arse end seems to be miles high pitching the front down..... Great tech, but l9oks like a bit more work left to properly dial it in.
Thumbs up guys as always. Bowhead make some fantastic kit. If they make a pedal version I'd be on it in a flash (c6/7 incomplete quadriplegic). I'll just have to wait for the Orange phase ad3 to be avalable. I believe Martyn has seen it in the flesh too.
Love the bowhead, im not disabled and I want to send it! The bucket bikes flaw is it puts the CG at seat height and we all know what happens when you do that. It needs a persons legs mount where the weight connects at the pedals, but this would add yet another axis of motion to contend with. I think when your moving it would feel maybe normal, but slower or weirder situations...... i have no idea. It would put the CG again at the pedals like a normally abled rider, but may make other issues to deal with.
Fuck me Martyn you were an 8nspiration back in the day...heavily!!! and you're an inspiration now. Cant believe you did all that bucket bike stuff!!! That shit looks scary as fuck!!!
I hear a bit of a creak on my Bowhead. Give me a week...I'll find which bolt is loose. LOL So good to see your spirit to keep going. Great video again.
can we get a video where all the gmbn/gmbn tech guys, just go out for a group ride, slaps some corners, train down some trails, just enjoy all riding together, i think gmbn sometimes gets so wrapped up with making lists and explaining things that they forget to make some content that shows what we all love about mountain biking, which is pratting about with our mates :)
Exactly mate
That'd be brilliant!
Wait where do I find these so called “mates” you speak of?
My man, thinking outside of the box! Yeah let the team just rip it and have fun altogether... With Martin leading the pack 😎🙏🏽
So much respect for Ashton, I could not personally deal with the changes he has been through, he's tough and deserves a lot of admiration.
What happened?

" I don't think anyone needs legs that long " You silly man if Doddy's legs weren't that long they wouldn't reach the ground !!!
All of Martyn's videos are so amazing and inspirational, i think it works both ways, your friends are pretty dam lucky to have you!
This is awesome, great to see Martyn back on the trails.
I could watch full episodes of Martyn on that bad ass BowHead ….. LOVE SEEING HIM HAVING SO MUCH FUN
Thanks guys
Fantastic for Martyn - clearly a free spirit and to be able to give him that independence back is so good to see. Can't wait to see Doddy fold himself up to get on it haha!
Best bit of kit just because it enables a guy to do what he clearly loves doing n "I think that's a Martin problem" says that perfectly
What a bit of kit.Giggled at the slow sign as Martyn went through at warp factor 10.High Tech At Its Best.
Once a shredder always a shredder, I love it. So inspirational 👌🏼
Incredible bit of kit. Some machine
An absolute inspiration

Thats literally one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. Imagine if you put racing slicks on that and made it into a drift trike!
The way Martyn is leaning into those turns looks so natural when we finally see him get going.
A gmbn & embn festival is needed in the uk. A weekend full of fun beer music and pratting about.
This video just made my day. Martin is such an awesome guy and it is so great to see how the entire GMBN team is so supportive. His laugh and love for the thrill of riding is infectious. Keep shredding Martin and thanks so much for sharing you passion for mountain biking. Cheers 🍻
This guy is crazy/fantastic and Shout out to the one who made this three wheeled mtb
Martyn, you are an inspiration, I loved you in the old days before your accident when you rode for Cannondale, you still have the skill man.!!!!!! I've had to stop riding due to Multiple Sclerosis but would love a Bowhead.
I always enjoy watching Martyn. He has a great sense of humour. He'd be great as a star guest for a group dinner.
That thing is badass! I've also got a physical disability and while I can still pedal it is nice to see something for folks who can not.
This video is just fantastic.

I can't stop smiling. So stoked for Martin and anyone else who can enjoy the trail again. 🤘😁
Martyn just made me get out and ride my bike... In India we are a bit late coming out of quarantine. Thank you for smiling for all of us!

Fantastic !!! Have fun Martin 😎👍

Martin is such a great ambassodor to enjoying life!
And yes, the bowhead is an amazing piece of tech

Great item to have and easy to maintain.
Dope rig, and very inspiring!

What an awesome machine!!!
Everything about this guy and video is just the F**King Bomb 👑👍
Damn this makes me happy!
I see a bowhead race series in the future, how good would that be, keep inspiring Martyn
What an amazing bit o' tech! The freedom!
Really cool invention.
Woooow very cool!!! Disabilities not a hindrance anymore ❤❤
Amazing Man and Machine. Love the SLOW sign and totally ignored it.
Very cool!! Hilariously fun!!
What a great Machine, and a great vid!
I would totally love to ride that!
