Pere Marquette 1225: North Pole Express

One of our newly favorite holiday traditions has returned to rails and Pere Marquette 1225 was ready for another mainline run from Owosso to Ashley. 1225 hasn’t led the North Pole Express due to extensive repairs to its driving wheels but the wheels were put back on just in time in 2023 for the annual North Pole Express. This year, we went to the Steam Railroading Institute two separate occasions. Once for the first weekend trips on November 17-18, and then one month later for the final weekend trips in December. Overall, it was a great time seeing 1225 on the mainline leading the North Pole Express for this annual favorite holiday tradition. Happy Holidays and enjoy the video!
