Maiden flights in hot windy conditions. This is a fast, agile and efficient Talon. Cruising current 3 to 4A, full throttle 20A. The construction and materials are tough enough for rough field landings with no damage. Flying weight with 4S 3000mAH and Mobius camera = 1050g. Factory moulded CG marks are good.

Good stuff! Mine is a bit heavier with a Matek FC and a 5200 4S. I flew it at 1215g AUW, and it felt a little on the heavy side. It really handles the wind great though! Personally I think this one will appreciate keeping it on the light side... lol Yours seems a little more tame when taking off and landing it that mine is. I may have to pick up some smaller packs to try out in it in the future. Thanks for the video! I can't wait for some calm days again to really feel it out... lol

@@AndrewNewton Awesome, I'm looking forward to your FPV flights with it! This is the first time I used the 405 Wing, second time using iNav. I really like the 405, it's a nice FC for sure. I can see myself using it more in future builds.

This was Thursday, still a bit too windy but it handled it well
Amazing
Like a Mini Talon but 300mm smaller on wingspan. That said, the MT has higher aspect ratio wings by comparison. It looked speedy though, no bad thing on a distance cruiser. Which is what these things are meant for. A Flight Controller should smooth things out. Looking forward to seeing that and the improvements it should bring. The Lipo access is better than on the MT, I find that annoying on the MT....Nice job Andrew.....Off to see what the Pirate has to say about it now...lol..

Designed for and, allowing for the wind, seems to perform like an intermediate+ level plane?
I like the way it looks in the sky better than the way it looks on the ground, but looks aren't everything.
It is odd looking, but that's the rear motor and long nose. Too fast for a first plane.
I'm amazed that it will fly as fast as it does with that big boxy nose ;-) Good piloting in that wind ;-) See you in the Air!

Love your reviews. I have two of the ZOHD's. I think they are a great value. What people just can't seem to say; the stab system that comes stock in these planes leaves something to be desired. Stick in a Lemon Stab plus, BGL Auto or some other flight stab and these fly like they are on rails. I wonder what they would fly like without any form of stab? Could be why they come with what they have? I don't have the moxie to try it. I have to tell you, your reviews have saved my bacon more than once. Thanks.
This one didn't have a stab, but I have now fitted a Matek FCB

A very agile little Plane, is'nt it a bit to nimble, as a Camera Platform, i guess the Footage was recorded and not FPV, i Think this one is to demanding for relaxing flying, but You can handle it🎩👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻great Video Salute from Vienna 🇦🇹Anton.

I don't know how to find info on how to use my S8R FrSky rx in my Micro Skyhunter? It has no active rudders so which model setup would be the best ? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I think someone needs to write a detailed book on how to do all the Firmware updates and Configurations for the FrSky products. Their website has some info, but leaves a lot to be figured out.
Is the white QX7 your everyday TX now instead of the Taranis plus you used to use?
It is for now. My old Taranis was losing range due to a dodgy antenna mod. I like the feel and knobs of the Q7. Had to shift the S1 / slider to the side

I don't agree, it's cheaper and thats about it.
Alasdair McC cheeped but built way stronger. This soft BEPP imo sucks. Had 2 these branded planes and until they start using real EPP or EPO I’m out.
@@Freebird_67 My mini Talon lost bits sooner than the Talon GT. Hard to compare anyway, the mini Talon is much bigger and a kit.
Dear Sir, a lil bit of help here. I"m using qx7+S6R receiver, can I get the voltage readout on the qx7 like yours too? Do i need anysort of flight controller, well i prefer without tho'.
Some FPV cameras will provide voltage on screen or an Frsky Lipo sensor gives it on the QX7.

@@wordreet cute 😊 . I am actually curious as I like the camera angle but I do not want to put something permanent on my wing. I also was wondering about the lateral balance with 100g of camera hanging 400mm off the center of balance out at the end of the wing. Maybe tape a few dollar coins on the other side.
@@TX_Nano. Heh, personally I have no interest in cameras on planes. Well, the only time I ever put a camera on any RC aircraft was when I lost one and gaffer taped my phone to the underside of one wing on my 2.5mtr glider so I could video the ground and find the plane. ;¬)
Mobius is just 47g, taped on to the wing with whatever I have in my bag, and I balance it with a mock Mobius on the other wing. Usually ruins the flight performance so it's never a permanent setup.

Hi Andrew I got it hold of my talon GT today . I have connected the receiver as per the instructions & set my dx8 to v-tail all is well Ailerons are correct Ailerons are fine except my rudder mover to wrong direction. Have you any idea how to reverse it as it’s
Not straight forward as a normal rudder setup or I could just reverse it on my tx. Thx in advance for any help .Paul 😀

ZOHD goes to the trouble of making many different foam cut outs for people to mount HD cameras... Andrew simply tapes a mobius to the top of it lol
I know, trouble is I never do permanent camera mounts because I'm changing them all the time.

Probably someone who dislikes the plane. Personally I don't like it, but giving the video a thumbs down is not a nice thing to do. Andrew makes great reviews and put a lot of time into his videoes. I gave the video a thumbs up, but that's not because of the plane :)
