I think the purpose of putting three different heads for Fluffy in the set was that in the movies each head had his own personality. One was sleepy and one more aggressive than the other ones. So I think that is a quite nice little detail!
It seems like you didn’t realize that fluffy doesn’t have a long tail but actually a short and stumpy tail and the tail on this fluffy might even be longer than it’s supposed to be lol
Yeah i do agree with you. I got this as a gift and i was like. What grey? What underground or tower does not make any sense. I actually feel like most of the 2021 models are not so great like they did not think trough enough
maybe they could have re design this set so that way there would be basically 2 big floor (the same size as fluffy room) but the bottom is a more detailed devil snare, and then have the 2 smaller areas be that little balcony and maybe an empty grey room to display your figures inside the devil snare, so you can have 2 levels, for areas to connect and actually mod them around, and the extra tower roof piece. actually it would possibly be better to buy 2 of these sets and expand the devil snare and use the extra pieces to make custom rooms
the original set was one of my favorites as a child because of the cool devils snare play feature but the devils snare in this one just feels like such a let down in comparison 😢
I don't understand you're complaint with his tail, it's supposed to be small and stubby because he's based on a British bulldog, heck the original Fluffy had an even smaller tail and it was molded in. The mixel joints I sadly think will never be recolored because they're bizarrely color-locked and I've come to accept that so it doesn't bother me. I love how Fluffy turned out. The original set was my favorite HP set and I have a lot of nostalgia for it but the new Fluffy is objectively better. It has way more personality and pose-ability. I actually like that the new one is half asleep so you have the option to make him look asleep or awake. In terms of the build he's also visually consistent with the other brick-built HP creatures over the past several years.

The original set had fluffy's chamber leading down to devils snare then that lead to the mirror with Quirrel and it all structured perfectly. It meant the trap door actually lead somewhere too
They could have so easily made this a great two-story set, with Fluffy’s room on top and the Devil’s Snare chamber on the bottom, both being the same width. The bottom section could have some play features for the vines and areas where all three characters can be trapped. Very lazy design for this set
i completely agree. they have great vine pieces that could have been used all in the bottom of the devil's snare room with the 1x1 round stud with the hole in the fop and the 1x1 cllip pieces if the bottom was simply a plate and not just the dumb grate. they also could have easily included more rooms on the bottom instead of wasting budget with the large tower spire piece. maybe even had the potion challenge or key challenge.
I think the layout when combined to the Chamber of Secrets sets make sense - the balcony structure is next to Fluffy room with "Devils Snare" being under it
Great review. This set screams out for a redesign and based on your comments, I'm pretty sure that's what you're probably going to do. Definitely fill out the Devil's Snare area so it's full of the vines and seaweed pieces. I might also rebuild the harp to a red-brown or brown colour so that it's consistent and not multi-coloured.
Good review. You really put your finger on the bad parts. Though I really think Fluffy should have thinner, moulded legs, like they did with the dinosaur arms.
I feel like Fluffy's heads should have had 2 piece, the upper head and a lower jaw - maybe rework the body a bit too, I honestly think a custom body could have been better as this seems pretty frail with the legs
I am a bit disappointed by this set, since I had high hopes for it. I have pre ordered it because I think it will look good with the chamber of secrets and bathroom. However I will probably change the devil's snare. I just want it to be green and more vines. I don't understand Lego's choices in this set.
I absolutely despise how lego is going for that half brick built half molded look for the Harry Potter creatures. First the Hungarian Horntail, then the Basilisk, and now Fluffy. It. Doesnt. Look. Good. They need to choose to either have them fully brick built or have them be a full new mold because mixing them doesn’t look good. The proportions end up being off and the creature ends up looking really unnatural.
I'm surprised no one has talked abt why there is all these tasks from the first hp book LEADING to the sorcerers stone but it doesn't even exist in the set??? Like why go out of ur way to get pass fluffy for nothing???? Just to drop down to something bad as well then again leading to nothing. That's really weird story lines for kids to play out? Thoughts???
It's sad that any detail in the interior is almost non existent AND Fluffy is pretty disappointing. I mean, if Fluffy was actually a great remake, it would be worth it even though the rest of the set is nothing spectacular. But since Fluffy is weak... Idk, this whole set is a big letdown imo. There's nothing really interesting. I'm still going to buy it tho 😂 But I'll be waiting for it to go on sale for sure

I think this is ridiculously overpriced but other than that it’s 100% the best Expansion but on it‘s own not that good also this is one of the most dum play features I‘ve ever seen: Oh look you can turn the thing you just build around and the heads look different. That is definitely NOT a Play-feature🤦♂️ but you have to have more of your own pieces to make this useful
The gold figure is such a dissapointment, doesn't shine like the picture on the box. Lego cheaped out on the gold. The gold should be the same as the pieces in the Iron Manhelmet or the Infinity gauntlet...

This set seems really underwhelming and only one to buy as an addition to the Chamber of Secrets. Fluffy looks pretty awful to me. Love the prints but overall build looks horrible, the retro one looks better!

The harp would work beatifully just by replacing all the yellow with brown and leave the gold accents in.

This is the worst Lego hogwarts 2021 set in my opinion, but I honestly like it. Some aspects could be improved, but it’s generally a solid set.
