Low Country Boil Recipe for a Small Group
    INGREDIENTS
2 Tsp Old Bay Seasoning Per quart of water
6 Ears Sweet Corn Cut into 3-inch sections
3 Lbs Red Potatoes Cut into quarters
2-3 Lbs Fresh Shrimp Leave in the Shell. Can use Frozen if you can't get fresh
    1-2 Lbs Smoked Sausage
    INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1 Start by filling up a large stock pot with cold water till it's half full.
Step 2 Bring to a boil and add in Old Bay Seasoning.
Step 3 Once water is boiling, add in potatoes and cook for 15 minutes.
Step 4 Add in the smoked sausage and the corn on the cob.
Step 5 After 10 minutes, add in your Shrimp.
Step 6 Cut the burner off and allow the boil to cool off for about 15 to 20 minutes. This cooling-off process allows the ingredients to soak up the seasoning as it cools.
Traditionally, Low Country Boil is poured out on a long table covered with brown craft paper or newspaper but you can serve out of the pot if you prefer.

Haha man this is so good. This similar to what Danny did the other week in the foil packets. This is the SC way it’s made and a traditional dish here. It’s served at gatherings and weddings and such! Most ppl just pour it out on the table! We get fresh shrimp where I live but too much more west and it’s hard to find. I got a guy that I know that goes to the coast each week during shrimp season and catches it on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Then sales it here on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

    • @SouthernFoodJunkie

Yes you could do that. This is just the traditional way it’s made in SC. I actually add lemons and butter to mine too. I also let it Steep fir about 20 minutes after I cut the burner off. You can put pretty much what you want in it and make it your own. Some ppl put whole eggs in it to make boiled eggs. Thanks 🙏

The way we make it round here it's not that spicy. In Louisiana, they make theirs spicy. Old Bay is crab boil. Not sure if you ever had that. With all that saying, you can add in cayenne pepper or something to make it hot if you prefer it.
