  • In this video I practice doing double blips and wheelies for the first time. Memorial Day weekend was the perfect time to practice because my riding buddies all had other family plans.
For the double blips I discovered that I didn't have too much trouble getting my front tire on the log, but had difficulty dropping the clutch a second time to burst over.
While working on wheelies I really just practiced getting the front end up and then tapping the rear brake to develop good muscle memory (this helps prevent crashes later on).

Good videos man. Happy to see tjat you've been stabbing the throttle less than before. Word of advice. Try focus on your balance and clutch control (Wheelies, Pivot Turns, slow wheelies are good practice) before you jump onto double blips zaps etc... working on those fundamentals first will go a long way. Also check out Cross Training Enduro on RUclips and head to their playlists. Watch their Begginer and intermediate cross training skills videos. Ive only just got onto the advanced skills playlist (been riding for 20 years and raced for a bit in my youth, im 27 now) the Playlist will help you a great deal. Keep posting man. Glad to see your progress

Glad to hear you're enjoying the videos, I have definitely been practicing smoother throttle usage 👍. I'm a big fan of Cross Training Enduro. Their slow wheelie tutorial is where I learned to practice covering the back beak etc. My problem is I have limited riding time and I'm not always disciplined enough to spend it on practicing fundamentals 😅

@@206bGoss I have the same issue with riding time. So what I usually do is Get up and start my ride at 7am. The first hour is exclusively practice. Working on Balance or wheelies etc... then I go on a ride that challenges me to use that skill I worked on that morning. Even at 1 ride a week it makes huge changes to your game. I had to stop riding for 5 years during university. Had to sell my bike. And last year started again on a old 1996 KDX 220. And in the 9 months ive been back doing that 1 hour extra and doing rides that force me to improve my skills. Almost has me where I was when I was 22 and Stopped riding. Its a big help. Hope you keep improving man and hopefully we get to see some hard Enduro Videos from you in the Future

@@joshuavanzuydam5044 This reminds me something I learned when playing baseball, "You don't practice something until you get it right, you practice it until you can't get it wrong". It's impossible to get that level of mastery without purposefully taking time to improve a skill. Cross Training Enduro recently made a video on this principle regarding slow wheelies that I really liked.

Great content man, glad to see others out there practicing the basics! I just started riding 2 months ago and love it. I'm debating on getting the same bike, Ktm 150xcw tpi or beta 200rr. My Honda 250F just feels way too heavy... Any thoughts? I'm 5' 10" 180lbs. I mostly ride trails near my house but occasionally take the bike over to the high desert and ride sandy trails. My hope is to get into the more complex enduro riding! Cheers from Oregon!

The 150 could be a good bike for you, I'm 6'2" and 165 lbs and it pulls me around well. If enduro riding is where your heart is then I would strongly consider looking at a 300 xcw.
