Most people just write off the Ardiaei which is a real shame. I always play them in multiplayer and run Noble Hoplites and Royal Marines. The javelins on the Marines are key. Use em to guard flanks and when hit throw them in box for the morale boost. I run mercenaries for meat shields against missiles and it works well. I have beaten most factions one on one with the Ardiaei. My favorite faction by far
Sol Invictus Theorem: If Sol sends/casts a replay, then he wins the game. Inverse of the Sol Invictus Theorem: If Sol does not send/cast the game, then he loses the game.
Fighting against horse archers is such a pain, but it is an excellent tactical unit. For a very long period of time ancient armies through out the east and west consisted of legionaries and horse archers, because commanders had caught on to their flexibility as military units.
heh wow miss how long rome2 battles are even without all the abilities and spells of warhammer its still I would say an awesome game. Thanks for the video Heir! as always
Weird choice ot taking Marines as Illyrians, probably their most versatile unit- but Thureos I suppose makes sense for cav counter tactics and square formation
Hardly Heir's fault. Someone in the tourney could put up all the rounds on their own youtube channel. I am sure heir would be happy to link it if folks wanted more replays to watch.
In the past year I developed a large interest in Total War games and I have Total War Attila and Medieval II: Total War. I watch a lot of TW: Warhammer videos and I think the game is also pretty cool, but it's too expensive for me. Which game in the series is the best for someone to start playing multiplayer without feeling overwhelmed? Attila multiplayer videos turn me away because of the spaghetti lines and lack of balance.
I don't think it is. It has issues, but nothing compared to Rome 2 during the same period in its development. I can understand preferring the historical TW games but Rome 2 was a steaming pile of shit for years without using a ton of mods. Even now it's just a disappointment.
Rome II again for your "diversity" video? Plus this battle was super boring. No major action at all. Nomad faction can create one of the most beatiful battles in Rome II but this is not one of them in my opinion. Also, even the most beatiful Rome II battle won't be half as good as Napoleon on Shogun 2 battles.
then as a little bit of a twist on your average youtube watching, maybe look for Napoleon or Shogun matches instead of being a bratty sweet sixteen that whines bc they wanted a red sportscar not a blue one

Rome 2 battles are great to watch. Much more tactical than later games.
Great to see some more Rome 2 online battle again! :)
TheProfnano yeah, it's too much with all the warhammer
Agreed, more historical please.
You got to love Rome 2
Been smashing this game on multiplayer again, forgot how fun it is
Thanks for showing Rome 2 multiplayer battles. Please keep them coming!

SH Søl· Invictus SH- TW Channel Did your clan member beat you
I love the Rome 2 videos!!!
Just want to say keep up the good work! I enjoy watching your videos on the game we all love =)

ty for sharing. For the Glory of SH clan !

Anyone else notice there was a full unit of lancers the Scythian player forgot about in the back of the map
Hoping for more Attila campaigning but Rome 2 is great too. :D
Listen to that music in the beginning of the video :D
I've gotta ask, Heir: rome 2 or attila for you? trying to get back into historical TW as warhammer is my most recent one since medieval 2 and Rome 1.
Rome 2
new belegar campaign vid soon?
I love all the off meta decks going at it
Weird choice ot taking Marines as Illyrians, probably their most versatile unit- but Thureos I suppose makes sense for cav counter tactics and square formation
Rome 1 music?:o
I think it's a mod
Intresting Battle
These spaghetti lines look somewhat stupidly.
As my computer gets fixed I'll buy rome 2 does someone plays the online now? Or Just your team?
Elia Battaglia I'm still playing it
Can still find matches, mostly during the afternoon.
I usually host my own and it can take up to 5 mins for a 2v2 to fill up
Maybe we should do a 2v2 together
Great ! Not only single player!
too bad that nobody will see semis because heir ignores host replays but cast immediately johann and sol's replays
Hardly Heir's fault. Someone in the tourney could put up all the rounds on their own youtube channel. I am sure heir would be happy to link it if folks wanted more replays to watch.
lol Sol sucks better than you boobi
Wish they would give the nomads their foot archers and low tier infantry in multiplayer

i would suggest to wait for next historical title because old tws are either full of cheaters or very experienced players
Gabe Newell I'd wait too, but it will be a while. if you don't want to wait I think Rome 2 is best
Gabe Newell rome 2 for mp
Thanks for the advice. I will get the next historical title and if I find a good deal for Rome 2 I'll buy that too.
Honestly Rome II is the best one
Why are the lines so thin? Very unrealistic.
lordzon bad game design, you do more damage when charging in a noodle formation.
Is it different in Total War: War Hammer?
lordzon yeah completely different, Warhammer is much better in that regard
Yup warhammer fixed this strat by limiting how far you can stretch units which is a good thing imo.
Never understood why the hell people spread their lines out like that..
Due to game engine design, by spreading lines out that way, you will cause more damage while charging.
the same reason why in warhammer you spam air, spam giants, spam spell casters etc. This is rome 2's cheese
only cavalry or all units get the charge bonus by spreading the lines?
andy897221 i dont know if you get charge bonus but you surround enemy unit, but yes on all units
ZEVA Bobi ah....weird mechanics, in Attila or Warhammer I am pretty sure the spaghetti line will be crash in half and morale will be broken real quick
there was no way the cav army would lose
heir wanna join me on rome 2 for a battle sometime when you can ?
scythia was too conservative with his arrows. He should have used fire arrows to send wavering units off the field.
Sixth place (:
I said it once and I'll say it again, those fucking stupid spaghetti lines make R2 replays look so goddamn' unappealing.
, nnnnnnnnnm nnnnnnnnnnnoooooooooooooooooo sorry
Two Slavic tribes against each other
wat
more rome2. less lotr rip-off fantasy craphammer
Rome 2 is a horrible game. I am glad Heir doesn't upload noodle battles that much.
tru
better than shithammer
