Great work as usual. The only thing I'll say is most Morrocans even today aren't white. They're mulattoes. The evidence of their black ancestry is reflected in their hair. Many Morrocans when they grow their hair out have thick curly afros similar to most mulattoes here in America. I cant tell you how many North Africans Ive seen who look just like American athletes Patrick Mahomes, Colin Kaepernick, and Trae Young. With so many mixed race children being born now in America its become easier to see how groups like North Africans and Middle Easterners came to be. The blackness of North Africa historically is still reflected in the hair of most modern day North Africans.

They're basically multi-generational "mulattoes". The Genetic evidence collected reflects this as well, as most men have a Y-DNA haplogroup of E, whilst their (as well as the women obviously) maternal mtdna haplogroups are much more varied, with genetic input from Europe/Eurasia.

Moroccans know their history well. They are Amazigh & have lived in North Africa for over 12,000 years.

Remember, this video lazily uses European sources, and to them at that time anyone that isn’t white was considered black!

@Anwar157 so the rif are not the real amazigh people because they are not mauri or dark skinned people...?? Morocco was called Mauritania z long time ago. Maybe it's not important for Moroccans but history is important actually.. so it can not be because of colonial settlers that Moroccans are a mixture of colors? Like the white Moroccans must be ethnically more Greek or roman people. hilts the treu Moroccans (mauri people) are dark skinned people. Tarik Ibn ziyad was actually a black person or dark skinned. The historical context here is that the modern state of Morocco gets its name from the capital city of the Almoravids, Marrakesch and that was the beginning of the modern state of Morocco. Because prior to that, various dynasties ruled different areas based around cities like Fez and it wasn't until the Almoravids that all these territories and towns were united, with the capital at Marrakesch, which is in the very south of the country and connected to trade routes in the interior of Africa. Also one of the competing kingdoms of the era prior to the Almoravids was based around a trading town called Sijilmassa which was also connected to African trade caravans from further south. And what made these trade routes wealthy was the gold brought from west Africa and the Southern Sahara.
