I got a hauler and trailer when they first released. I ended up putting a traxxas winch on both with their own remotes. Pretty much did the same as wiring on power in the truck. The trailer I ran the power to a small 2s battery in the front tool box. As for mounting I apoxied a trx4 mount to the winch tray on the hauler and trailer and then screwed the winch to the mount.
Don't forget to unwind the winch all the way and respol it with tenchin so that the wire is trained and less likely to puff up and unwind all of it at once

Interesting! I am surprised the epoxy is strong enough to hold the mount. Glad it worked for you!

Nope! The winch is mounted to the pivoting panel that is there. Works great!

Could you have droppet the plate and just use 4 longer screws for the winch itself?
Maybe! Just mount the winch directly to the bed surface? That could have worked!
