Just the fact that this has things like "rainfall affects groundwater reserves" and "radiation can move," the fact that the world is dynamic, is making me like this more than Surviving the Aftermath*, which felt a little theme-parky when I watched you go through it. *Mixed this up with After the End, which being a CK2 mod... Is a little theme-parky. But in a good way!

A big consideration with crops is labor. Peppers are harvested and planted often, so high yield high labor. Slower growing crops require less labor. So you can maintain a larger field with the same amount of labor.
The children are actually not useless in this game. They do carry for example water to the building they live in. Your assumption about Hunters Lodges and Gatherer Huts are correct. Animals wandering around, you need to redeploy the work area regularly. The reward a loot of food. If you hunt all animals in one region, it takes much longer until new animals spawn. Buildings who boost confidence must be visited by the people to increase confidence and the effect holds just some time. One of the developers likes to build the Refinery as early as possible. Settlers can live up to 30 seasons. It's a valid strategy to build a house near remote work place.

I'm looking forward to more of this, but one thing has not been explained to me so far. What does the ladybug in the top left corner do? I've hoped something would have been said about that by the end of the video but no, nothing.
AaronTheBlackDragon I believe that’s the ‘report a bug’ button, on the title screen it had a notice about being in closed beta, and how bugs could easily be reported by either pressing F1, or the bug report button.
Peppers do have slightly more yield per season, but the disadvantage is that their short growing season requires MUCH more labor. The poor farmer has to plant and harvest every season! This slows down the actual food rate, because you lose all the time the farmer takes to harvest and replant. However, if you redo the math adding half a season to each of the "growing time" values (which seems to be about how long it takes for your one farmer to harvest and start replanting that 10x12 field), it turns out peppers are still the best! Although only just barely, at 174.5/season vs. corn's 160: they're much less dominant than the raw numbers would suggest, and they still require far more labor than other crops. I think this will probably be rebalanced as the beta progresses, because it really doesn't make any sense at all.
... Dude, a game like this could not be developed in the time since Surviving the Aftermath was released, or revealed. (even just the art assets alone would be enough of a timesink.) Implying a rip-off like that is just a dick thing to do.
I have this game , I seems really like Banished. water seems like a really big hard cap. I have watched all of my kids die of thirst. they are a lot more fragile than adults. I want to go into more, but don't want to spoil it for Pravus.
I'm rather confused because early on you said that houses could increase the population faster than you can grow food so instead you'd be using the shelter, then ended up doing exactly the opposite. I don't know why you changed your mind.
Y’now using mostly alcoholic drinks for the people wouldn’t be that bad considering people won’t get sick from it and would quench their thirst (historically speaking)

What also bugs me about this game is that the radiation is extremely unforgiving later on in the game.. i've watched a different RUclipsr play this game on both hardest and easiest difficulty.. and both times his population entirely die out because of the radiation (and yes he focused heavily on making radiation suits) which really think twice whether i want the game for myself or just watch gameplay video's because i know that i'll get heavily annoyed and play for maybe an hour or two and then never touch it ever again.. i honestly think the radiation stuff *NEEDS* to be nerfed or reworked
I don't understand how pop-growth can be a problem. You get a lot of people, they need more food, you assign those extra people to make more food. Problem solved. Just gotta keep scaling up the number of people working in farms as your population grows. There's probably a perfect percentage of your total population who should be working in food at all times.
That's not how nuclear power plants work grumble grumble grumble. You could set off every one in the world, going Chernobyl(Which required deliberate lack of maintenance and was frankly Bloody Stupid) and it wouldn't be an apocalypse. It'd just be ANNOYING.
