I wake up in the middle of the night with discomfort in my hips, knees and shoulders. I turn from one side to the other. I do not want to sleep hot. And I sleep alone. Thanks for taking the time to give me some advise.

    What would be a good mattress topper for an air bed? I sleep on a Lightspeed airbed which is great but I want to soften the surface up just a bit. I can't stand the smell of memory foam so I'm only considering latex, a Japanese futon style pad, or polyester fill. Couple with side sleeper and combo sleeper, looking for good support for pressure relief of achy bodies and softer feel I think? Hello! May I ask what your budget is? If it's below 100, the Lucid 2" or Dreamfoam 2" are going to be my picks there. If you can do a bit more, I would look at the ViscoSoft! It is super comfortable and soft and I personally felt great on my side and back as well.
      If you can go up even more, I would take a look at the Saatva mattress topper. That has two layers so you will get nice pressure relief and great back support.
      Also, how long have you had your mattress? Is it too firm or are you seeing some sagging and body indentations?

    Looking for a mattress topper to use on top of the existing foam seat cushions in our camper. Sleeping on them alone hurts my back, using a camping mattress on top helps a little. We are going to try a soft foam mattress to see how that helps the situation. Wondering what you recommend. I typically sleep on my side to avoid snoring. My Sleep Number bed at home so far is the best sleep and best for back pain. Storage space in the camper is very limited. Hello, I would like a recommendation please. I'm a lightweight side sleeper with shoulder pain that seems to be caused by sleeping on my side but I can't sleep on my back. I tried the Lucid 3 inch gel foam and it made my shoulders feel even weirder. They still had pain plus numbness. I tried sleeping on my back and sank in way too far, spine was not straight. My mattress is a Sealy everbright which we bought because we thought it was plenty soft. But after three years I am realizing, hey, I still have shoulder pain. I had stopped sleeping on my right side because it was painful but now the left side has gotten painful too. So I heard on Healthline that for shoulder pain you actually shouldn't go for a softer mattress but a balanced like maybe 5/10 firmness. But you want cradling support. Where do we find that? Am I better off mattress shopping than trying to fix it with a topper? I live in Canada by the way.

    I sleep on a very firm mattress. I purchased it thinking it would support my back due to lower back issues in the past. Now I wake up every morning with intense back and arm pain. I'm looking for a mattress topper that will allow me to get out of bed each morning--possibly pain free. Such a nice thought! I'm leaning toward a latex topper bc I have read that sleeping on a memory foam mattress makes it very difficult to stay cool and to turn over during the night. I don't want to pay over $275-300, or would love to buy one for less. I am 5-7, female, 230 lbs. and mostly sleep on my back and side. Big questions: Do I buy a 2 or 3", soft, med or medium firm. I would love support for my back, as well as my entire side--but with a little softness. Thanks, Lucy/Tx.

      Hello! So, first off, I would shoot for something medium-firm and possibly 2" thick. Since you sleep on your back and side, this should be a good fit for both positions. So, if you are okay with memory foam, I would take a look at the Saatva. It is two layers and features graphite memory foam on top that doesn't sleep hot. I did not find it too difficult to move around on. Also, you could consider the Tuft and Needle which is more responsive than memory foam and slept quite cool for us.

    I’m so confused with this bedding thing... 2 brand new king size beds in a years time... Nectar is a great bed but was too hard.. Other bed is luxury firm hybrid which is sinking in already (could be the brand).
    I’m a heavy girl that travels for a living so sleeping on hotel beds mostly (some are fantastic... firm with Cush) I don’t like to be hot whatsoever, I don’t like the sinking in feeling (to hard to roll over and get out of the hole you’ve created)... I do like firmness with a bit of cush to it. So now I need to decide which bed to put a topper on to get the feel I so badly
    want. The more I research the more confused I get. I’m a side sleeper. Can you give me some Help.

      So, in terms of toppers, it sounds like you'll need something with latex to give you the bounce you need. Something like the Birch or Avocado also have wool for a bit of softness. However, if you found the Nectar to be too firm, these might be too firm for you. You might want something with responsive foam such as the Tuft and Needle. You like firmness, but this will give you just a bit of that cush you are looking for. Pairing this with a firmer innerspring mattress or hybrid could be a good idea.

I am a slide sleeper and am interested in the Saatva Matress topper which has a dimension of 75"L x 38"W. Is the 7" width disparity something I should avoid?? I am having trouble finding a topper that fits the dimensions of my mattress. Thank you!

    Hi, I’m a heavy person, had back surgery. I have a firm mattress but I thought it was the best for people with back problems but I wake up with everybody part hurting; do you recommend the saatva tip? Would it be a good idea to throw a parachute on top of Saava to add fluffiness?

    Hi, thank you for the really helpful info! Could I ask for your advice? If I find my new mattress too firm and I'm a combination sleeper (side and back), do you think a 2" topper will be enough or should I go for something thicker?

      Also, one more question. 😅 If I would like an overall medium firm feel when I lie down on my bed, should I go for a topper as soft as a firmness level of 2/10 or 3/10 or I should choose something firmer like 5/10 or 6/10 given that my current mattress firmness is at a firmness level of 8?

Also, do the mattress toppers aid in taking these damn annoying 'indents' on a air mattress and level them out for better sleep? Thank you and would appreciate a reply. Great channel.

    Hello Sir,
    I live in Pakistan and the temperature at night reaches to 43 celsius. Although the room is air conditioned at night but still the mattress keeps on releasing heat which makes it difficult to sleep. In market there is this 2 inch gel cool mattress. Do you think if I add it to the top of the mattress, will it help?
    Regards

    My husband is a stomach sleeper with some weight on him. Also, he runs hot. Myself, on the other hand am a side sleeper of average weight with some neck and back pain issues. We recently tried the Subrtex 3” topper and sending it back after a week of sleepless nights. We don’t have room for two beds in the same room but we are opposite sleepers which makes for a terrible nights sleep. Need some suggestions😴

    Hi, my partner just made us get a firmer mattress for his back pain. He is double my height (so significantly bigger) and loves the firmness. I have a small frame and finding it too firm with my shoulders, neck, chest and back all feeling stiff. We are both versatile sleepers, moving around a lot from side, stomach, back and fetal. Are toppers for half a Queen size bed a thing? What would you recommend?

    Hi there, thanks so much for posting your wonderful guide. I am interested in the Avacado Green brand, as it is eco-friendly and non-toxic, however, as stated the price point is high so I am considering just a topper without a mattress. Would you say the Avacado Green topper thick enough that when placed directly on a wooden-slatted bedframe, the bedframe would not be felt through it? Thanks in advance for your guidance :)

    Hey, I would like to know if I will be able to use mattress toppers such as the Layla topper or Dreamfoam for the couch? And do they work just as effective on the couch as they do on the bed? Would folding these toppers interfere with its effectiveness and lastly, if these aren’t good for couch usage, are you able to recommend any toppers that are specifically made and work efficiently for a couch?

    • @Mattressclarity
      @Mattressclarity  4 года назад

      So, I would not recommend folding these to use on a couch. They could work on a couch bed, but not on the couch itself. I don't have experience with toppers for couches, but I can research further.

    We have a Sleep Number P5 bed and bought a cheap memory foam mattress topper for comfort a few years ago, but it needs to be replaced. Contemplating between the Sleep Number Variacool and the Saatva. We are both side and back sleepers. Did not see that you've reviewed the Variacool, but if so, do you have a preference. If not, do you think the Saatva will work well with our bed? Thanks! Cheryl

    Question: I have a tempurpedic 3 in Topper. It's a medium firmness but I don't know the firmness (IDL) number. Do you know the number? I heat up and sweat alot and very uncomfortable. I am a side sleeper my wife is both a back and side sleeper. Is a latex topper medium firmness the same as the tempurpedic? I don't want it to feel firmer. If anything slightly softer. Can you recommend the firmness number we should shoot for? Thanks for your help!

    We are on the fence between the Saatva luxury and the firm. Leaning toward the firm as we have been looking and looking for that oldschool 70s type mattress that does get dips after 5 years. That said, I am strictly a side sleeper, and I sleep hot. I want the feeling of that real firm spring mattress but with enough softness to absorb pressure points. What exactly is the different between the luxury and the firm? Is it just the amount of pillow top? Are the springs the same? In other words, would getting the firm and paying for a memory foam topper essentially be making a luxury the hard way?

    • @Mattressclarity
      @Mattressclarity  5 лет назад

      So, according to Saatva, the main difference between the Luxury Firm and Firm is going to be the amount of Pillow top you get. You will get more on the Luxury Firm, making it softer. Based on your situtation, the Luxury Firm would be a better choice. If you are considering getting the firm and getting a memory foam topper, that will change the feel significantly. If you go with the Luxury Firm, however, you will get some pressure relief as well as that pillow top feel over innerspring.

    I have purchased two toppers in the last month and I dislike both of them. I want one like I got my husband. His is very dense and firm - almost hard but it responds to body contours. It is definitely not just memory foam. What do you recommend. I only want a 1 1/2 inch or 2 max.

    Hello!!! Awesome video!! So my husband sleeps on his side with his hand usually under his pillow and has shoulder pain. I sleep on my side and have muscle pain on my lower back right above my butt and it’s usually sore . I am a tiny bit heavier than my husband and I am bottom heavy so I feel like we need something to relieve pressure. What do you recommend? Our current bed is a thin pillow top

    • @Mattressclarity
      @Mattressclarity  4 года назад

      Hey! If you're looking for good pressure relief, I would take a look at the ViscoSoft memory foam topper or maybe even the TEMPUR-Topper Supreme. Also, if you want a bit of support as well, the Saatva could work well.
