I'm doing Dips right now, and I have no problem with them. I was a complete bigger to calisthenics and my muscles would get sore after working them the next day. I started taking calisthenics seriously last month and the soreness went away quickly including the hurting sternum

Nah this pretty common in lifting. It’s not because his lower chest is “too muscular”, he just doesn’t train his upper chest as hard, so it’s disproportional. My left Lat was disproportionate from my right for a while, and it’s not because I’m just super jacked on the left. I just didn’t focus/train as hard when training my right making my left look bigger. People saying stuff like “suffering from success” don’t rlly make sense because disproportionality is a result of unbalanced training, not success lol.

I currently have 40 cm with pump and 12 percent body fat on 175 cm (5'9"), resulting in approx. 38 cm absolute dry mass (6 percent body fat). 175 cm (5'9") and arms that are way above 40 cm gives you instantly the bodybuilder look and not the athlete / fighter look, which is the more desirable physique for most athletes for a various of reasons. I am interested what body height you have and what arm size.

@@researchproject034i had same problem with bench. I lowered the weight and corrected my form, pressed the bar together and fully feeled my chest. With higher weight you can’t bend the bar with enough power together. But to bend the bar together is essential to fully use your chest muscle.

Look up James Grage. He invented or tweaked an exercise for upper chest. His chest looks amazing. Use a cable. Height at upper chest. Single handle. Palm down. Start at shoulder and push across chest to opposite shoulder. Repeat other arm. Takes shoulder out, tricep out and u can feel the upper chest working.
