The book this was based on 'Darwin: His Daughters and Human Evolution' (later called 'Creation: Charles Darwin, his Daughter & Human Evolution') (also called 'Annie's Box: Darwin, His Daughter, and Human Evolution) was written by his great great grandson British conservationist Randal Keynes, son of the nephew of economist John Maynard Keynes.
I have yet to watch this movie and I seriously should, if I were to pick a genius that lived in this world to call my favorite and roll model I would seriously have to say Charles his theory’s were amazing and I have always been so inspired by them every since I heard about him in middle school
I'm rather fond of Mendel as well. Darwin was a gentlemen of leisure, but Mendel was a working friar in an abbey. There's something beautiful about him merely following his curiosity.

1. The Bible does not describe how God creates the universe, only that he did. Genesis is not a scientific account. Genesis 1 and 2 contradict each other on a "scientific" reading, which you'd think would have been noticed in the thousands of years since it was written and in the commentaries written about it. To interpret Genesis "literally" is a modern invention that is unfamiliar to the pre-moderns and ancients.
2. Fundamentalism is a very recent invention. Historically, people read the Bible (a work assembled first by the Catholic Church and composed of a writings written in different epochs and in different styles and languages) quite differently.
3. There is no reason why a Jew or a a Christian cannot accept that some form of evolution explains the diversity of life we see. This is a point the late John Paul II made explicit. There is no reason why the 7 days of creation are not symbolic. (What does 7 days even mean without a sun and an earth in a particular orbit?)
4. Evolutionism, a metaphysical theory, is different form the general idea of evolution.
5. While we can speak confidently about adaptation and mutation as such, the notion of "species" is difficult to biology. There are at least 20 different operating notions in the biological literature.
6. Phylogeny is not ontology. We must distinguish between phylogenetic notions of species and the ontological.
7. While many if not most Jews and Christians historically had taken the account in Genesis to more or less correspond to the literal events of creation, it is not a matter of any sort of, say, Catholic doctrine, and is rather an understandable belief given the absence of geological, paleontological, and biological knowledge until relatively recently in history. The only thing Catholics are obliged to believe is that Adam and Eve really did exist. There is no problem with this. Genetic population arguments to the contrary make unjustified assumptions not made by Scripture or theologians (for example, nothing prevents interbreeding with, say, biologically similar or perhaps even identical members of a proto-human species from which Adam and Eve could have been come). Again, biology vs. ontology.
I don't think Religion, at least abrahamic religion, owes an explanation to Darwin. As an atheist myself, I always say to my theist friends that evolution doesn't disprove god/gods. I understand that from their perspective, they will have a hard time reconciling both, but they didn't have to really.
You've got it all wrong.
God spoke and the earth was created. Thats how it came into being. The bibe was not wriiten by catholoics. Go and watch the chosen and learn the truth and read the bible. If you think you know anything without the Lord revealing his truth, the only truth , then you know nothing. His word is living, breathing, powerful and creates from nothing.
