  • I met Jerry at The 2023 Old Car Festival and he described how he built this car from the ground up in just 18 moths. This beautiful 1930 Ford Model A wood body Huckster style commercial truck was built by this cabinet maker from white oak and he drives it several times a year. Sometimes called a woody, he gets into the details as to what makes this such a unique build.
When I am not making images for my normal (if there is such a thing) bodies of work as a photographer, I make plenty of fun videos for my Model A or other related videos from that time period that you can find on this channel too. Be sure to check them out.
As to gear, I shoot a variety of full frame Nikon cameras and lenses. Most everything is shot on a tripod to produce the sharpest images possible.
You can see more about me and my photography at my website here www.kensmithga...

We would love to upgrade our video and microphone system to incorporate better quality audio and sound as well as multiple cameras and drone footage in the future. My 1930 Ford Town Sedan has eyebrow fenders and still has the original interior. It's certainly worn but it still is functional. I have rebuilt the driveline, suspension, and tie rods, installed a modernized Model A motor with oversized intake valves, insert bearings, and a high compression head. I also have a lightened flywheel and V8 clutch. The car comfortably cruises at 50MPH but I've had it up to 60MPH. I have also insulated and installed sound deadener which has made the car enjoyable to be in even at 90 degrees.

Just stumbled on this channel a few days ago. found some great videos. I love old cars but do not have the financial means to own one so I enjoy watching others enjoy theirs.

Another very enjoyable video, Ken, thanks. I, too, am inspired by the wood body. I have a 1933 International truck that is a hood and cowl, the rest of the body needs to be built.... by me, I guess. I like wood and woodworking, even have a sawmill, so wood would be the natural choice. Plus , building my own body will give me a lot of freedom as to what I build.

This is definitely inspirational, I've always liked the design of the 20s & 30s trucks but being 6'8" tall it wasn't practical for the standard size cab. So I've been toying with the idea of building my own and making it fit my height. Thanks Ken! God bless
