Remember Shinee is their favorite Sunbaenims. They don't want to make this look funny as people may think they are disrespectful of acting funny. It is also their swag style of interpretations of the song with Stray kids' taste. I think they did very well of this cover.
Sherlock was one of the top suggests by stays (the stays that went to the show got to submit suggestions for what they would want to see for performances and covers)

All Shawol comments I've seen about this performance have been so positive and lovely.
I thought our boys did justice to the song and choreo, the vocal line were all amazing.
Lee Knows vocal lessons have really made a difference to his confidence the last year or two, he has been super stable for quite a while now and I'm so proud and happy for him.

You summed it up perfectly - k-pop group usually (usually, not always) have either upbeat catchy songs you can dance to or emotional ballad to showcase their vocals. SHINee doesn’t care about that distinction - they just flaunt their vocals all over the place and I love it. And I agree that despite SKZ being my ultimate favourites, I do think they still lack a bit in that sense and would benefit from this skill more, cause SKZ rap line is crazy in every song, I’d love the vocal line to be the same
The vocal line is very skilled actually, and all of them are extremely solid vocalists, even the more underdeveloped singers in the group. They have the most underrated vocals in Kpop in my opinion, people base their skills off their title tracks and its unfortunate. Professionals who listen to their bsides and live performances with an open mind compliment them often. I wish this cover was live to hear just how well they pulled it off vocally. I’m hoping that at some point they have a title track that’s vocally focused like this.
@@rembbokie what I love about skz is that they’re such good idols, they could do either rap heavy or vocal heavy songs and still do it amazingly
I don't think there're too many groups in the industry that have rappers who can sing very well like skz does with 3racha. And I think seungmin and i.n. are amazing too. So I don't think skz lack anything in term of vocal.

Sherlock was my very first SHINee sing I ever hears and it was this song that made me q shawol and that made Taemin my bias.
This cover by Skz brought tears to my eyes what I mean btmy this is it brought me bqck to the time I first found shinee and skz did an amazing job covering it
