KEEP IN MIND…..he feels “scammed” and “betrayed” all because of a reproduction cover. Not to mention, why would you go to a second hand shop and expect “ a premium feel” 🤦🏾♂️
I guess because of the high price? I dunno, haven't used them in years.
They don't produce the games anymore? You don't have a choice
Thanks for saving me watching the video, thought it was going to be something jucie
I love the CeX in Ireland. They offer fair prices for games and great for buying wii games and used games for my ps4. If you want to save money on games it's a great place
Gggg g. Que me recomiendas para la defunción herectil
The guy wants a “premium feel” but he bought a GameCube game from a second hand shop 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Well said 👍
Well I can’t agree , here it’s different we don’t have scams even tho some of consoles are bought by other people they didn’t even use em
Trua
I mean you can't really buy games new that are over 1 generation old not without paying extortionate prices.......
i couldnt of put it better 😂
The game isn't fake.. it's a printed cover because the original would have been damaged.
Or it is a sticker
It's not fair that they can sell 'cover reprints' but you can't trade in 'cover reprints'
It shouldn't be allowed
@@qui8495 they have it on the cover now if it is reprinted it will have 'cover reprinted' in the corner
I thought he says the game is fake, just a burnt disc?
@@cardboardcrazydownunderc2367 no just a fake case and artwork
Funny , this dude is exactly the type of dude id expect to see working in cex.
Nah he looks like he’s showered in the last 72 hours
Imagine walking all the way back to Cex just to ask for a full refund because the cover isn’t old
You sound like a moron that'll pay full market price for a game with a fake cover.
Its because people steal their empty cases so CEX are left with just the disc. In order for them to sell the game they have to reprint the front cover and sell it in the case. To be fair the don't say this on the front but inside to cover there is a CEX red stamp to say this is a reproduction sleeve from CEX. If you had checked this when you got it then you could of taken it to any CEX store and got a refund. If you are not happy track one down in a CEX and swap the cases lol then you will have an original just a thought
The reason doesn't matter. They're still willing selling fake cases and not informing the consumer. While also selling them at the boxed price. Which is usually way more than a loose disk.
Been going on for years yet everyone makes a video on same week....
yup and the guys who started the videos actually got their own facts by researching it themselves and are very informative, but hey its all about views.....it's you tube lol copy and paste, copy and paste all day long
terry hawkins I feel like making a video to defend CEX, this is just ridiculous.
Crypto World Nobody got scammed, these people are just childish and butthurt.
"a company that has betrayed me" 😂😂😂
It always stinks of sweat in CEX
Liam Geary I just shop at game or buy everything on the ps store
Bailey Pate GAME is a much bigger rip off then CeX will ever be though 😂🤣
The GamingDragon haha
Liam Geary nope I went to sell some games at CEX and learned they’d give me £40 I went to GAME and they gave me £90
The GamingDragon wow
Wouldn't you inspect the game 100% before purchase?
Sam Orchard I do that in Charity shops, check the discs if they’re scratched or anything
Krimzon Waters Charity shops used to do such great games for so cheap
Not fake anyways.
Every game store I've ever been to take the discs out of the cases when they put them on the display and only put them back in after you've already paid for the games. This was already standard practice when I was a kid in the early 2000's. I mean, I understand why they do it, but it doesn't exactly inspire customer trust. Charity shops tend to leave the discs in the cases, but it's obviously harder to find the game you want if you're looking for a specific game and they don't test the games before accepting them like game stores do.
@@LifeofBrad1 not bought from them in a while but I always ask to see the disk before I pay. Think I'm fortunate because the staff in my local shop were helpful and never said no.
Firstly, it's not a "fake" game... it's a game with a reprinted cover. - However, they should NOT be selling re-printed covers unless its priced at disk only price, without a box. Also, It IS illegal to print and sell these covers too... again, if they are selling them at full price in box prices and not as disk only and making you aware this is a printout cover!
Dude, I collect games, I get this whole "premium feel" thing.
But 3 things
1: If you didn't notice the cover was different, why does it matter
2: The game is not fake. The print is somewhat fake.
3: You bought from CeX, what did you expect?
CEX used to be great years ago, back up until the late PS2 era or so then they really changed. There used to be loads of cool imports, good prices and huge variety then it went utterly SHIT for a few years, a bad patch and now with a resurgence in gaming they are big again but they seem to have got a little bit greedy. The odd good find here and there but I'll have to keep an eye out for these shenanigans.
The cex that I go to it says on the front of the cover it says in bold letters: REPRODUCTION COVER... or something like that
Mate it’s a cover. You’re talking like the disc is fake. I understand it’s a collection thing but they print their logo on it to say yes this is a reprint, they’re not being deceptive or hiding that’s it’s not the original cover. As a collector it’s your responsibility to make sure what you are buying is all legit by checking it over.
Matt Beardsmore when your selling said game with said repro cover at full price its a problem and illegal period
@@thestardustgamer296 it's just a cover. Nintendo have confirmed that they alow missing covers to be reprinted. The buyer needs to be aware of the Repro cover though

not sure about the UK but CeX reprinted covers here in Australia have a small tag stating that it's been reprinted. Tbh I liked that they reprinted the original cover and didn't just slap a template cover with the game name.
To be honest, you're being a bit too hard on CeX. All my joycon replacements come from there and i got plenty of great xbox 360 games from there, imo it's a reliable store.
One of my favourite places to purchase games and consoles and movies.
True that but they sell stuff for so much money and if you sell an item they give you *way* less than what they sell it for
@@SMG3Star ye but they have to make money and they dont sell for so much most things are half the price as if you get them new
Back in the late 80s, Nintendo successfully sued Blockbuster for photocopying user manuals for their rental games. I wonder if this falls under the same issue there.
calm down mate
this is a straight up bruh moment
Cex scammed me off my phone by playing the ad beggining with "SEEEEEEX" when I was watching RUclips next to my mom
💀
If they promise that a true cover was on it, that’s a scam
Would you rather buy a game with a case and no cover? Even if you’re a collector you would want the full set, I wouldn’t be whining about them printing the cover, I even go to them to get covers printed.
Luckily my CEX store is super reliable. I got the first 4 Professor Layton games from them for £24 (It's a secondhand shop yeah, but fuck me what a bargain). I am still super content.
What? I don't believe this.
TwiggyMnsn neither do I
Sometimes if the cover has been lost in-store/ in-transit we send off a request to our media department and they'll print the cover like shown above. its not fake its just not original, its not a scam we're not hiding this and if you're not happy when you see it you dont have to buy it...
Neither do i
+Aznatsoc Henighan scammer!!!!
No. it is fake, its not the original, if you're selling a product and advertising it as the genuine article then it should be. If its not the original cover it should state that it isn't the original. The only reason they're doing this is cos they know its worth less without the original, hence why you see games at GAME and other places in plain boxes and they're worth less.
So your upset because you didn't get the original sleeve for the mario game???? Sounds like a bit of a bit picky aye?
If cex starts printing game covers, everyone will think it's ok to print covers, and eventually all their shop will be full of fakes.
Yes., the cover is fake, we get it! The disc is real
@@KoopatoadYT in the past cex has been caught selling fake gba Pokemon cartridges. Cex should not be selling loose discs the same price as boxed games, by reprinting the artwork and using a dummy box, that's what people have an issue with.
The dudes got a point. Cex should print a label to stick on the front of cases where they do this. Not fair otherwise.
I bought a DVD from Cex and it said on the case "Cover Reprint"
The original sleve must have been torn.
Sometimes we end up with loose discs too, so to avoid wasting them and losing money we get a spare box and put a new cover in!
What would you rather have? ‘Fake’ cover that looks really close to the original or no cover at all? Choose wisely.
Read the policy + If you order online you have 14 days to return the item to the original payment method
People need to be careful about this. It is an accusation of an illegal activity.
First of all CEX is a second hand business. As such, goods may be sold with defects. CEX may be licenced to sell the goods with no cover at all. So if you dont like the cover then throw it away. CEX are making no pretence of the cover being original. They are being discreet with CEX printed inside.
If brand new is what is wanted then buy brand new.
CEX may be over priced, which it often is, but that can be determined before any transaction is made.
If the game itself is genuine then there is no real room for complaint.
emulation heard of it
yeah but he's a collector. he wants to own a real copy. he doesn't just want to play a shitty port on his computer illegally. it's not about the experience of the game but the idea of owning it.

Why cry over reproduction sleeves as long as the disk/media is real who cares about sleeves games are for playing normal people don't buy games to look at ffs get a grip
colin kinch normal people don’t realise how much that shit will be worth in the future either.. £55 today.. £500 in 30 years, if these people ain’t normal, at least they’re clever
people can enjoy their media however they like, don't be a prude
TheOneAndOnly No, normal people don't pretend the value goes up because someone didn't open and use it. Grow up.
ArchGirl the value does go up, that’s a fact, it doesn’t matter what kind of person you are, it’s something that just happens, girl
TheOneAndOnly Wrong. The PERCEIVED value goes up, that's not the same. People THINK it's more valuable, so people start raising the price. Learn how the world works kiddo, it's governed by the greedy. Besides, if you're collecting purely because of what you believe things to be worth, then you're a shallow person with more money than sense. Games should be played, not wrapped in plastic and drooled over on a shelf.
This is a real shame, I bought from CEX in their early days when they did good deals, but I went to look in one of their stores recently and they're nowhere near as good as they used to be : / online too the prices don't seem anywhere near as good for what you get anymore.
This isn't a scam. You have Consumer Rights in the UK when you purchase online from CEX. If you go into a store, and you purchase from them, you do not have an automatic right to change of mind by law - however, their instore policy still allows you 48 hours to change your mind. And this is extended in December. If you go into a store, and see a game with a printed cover, it is up to you whether to purchase it or not. You make that decision. You could argue that you've had to travel to that store because they're the only one with that game in 100 miles etc - but you made that decision, by the same token the game could have it's original cover but it could be in terrible condition. Furthermore, IF you purchased online and CEX sent you a pre printed cover for your chosen game/DVD and you didn't like it, you don't need to have a reason or have a fault, you can exchange it 100% for up to 14 days.
Nobody is being scammed through this method and you need to check UK Law before making another video like this. That's why at least 4,800 people have rated against your video.
That's why you should never buy something you don't see an actual image of. Same on Ebay; I never buy from listings with stock photos.
If I buy from CEX, I know there might not be a manual; the cover could be reprinted (usually by the person who trades it in) or even the game could be fake. At least CEX isn't hiding it and reprinted covers are usually easy to spot.
In Ireland though, we can always bring back our purchase for a full refund within 2 weeks regardless of payment method. I guess that's different in the UK.
I’ve used CEX for the longest time now and I’ve very few complaints. I think they are great. Although sometimes I do feel their grading of items to sell can be left to scrutiny but then that depends on which branch you go to and who’s doing the testing, but overall great for selling old stuff for spare cash or credit.
CeX in Australia doesn’t sell games with fake/copied covers I look at every wii and ps4 game in 5 CeX stores
At my local cex:
Games often don't work
Electronics aren't tested
But trading is great! Prices are high
Cex is such a scammy store and I bought metal gear solid for 25 quid and when I sold it they sold it for 1:50 for cash and 2:50 for store credit which really pissed me off
It's just a cover... Is it too much to ask to just play the game (which is real)?
Hey I know this is an old video but this might help. CEX only print logos onto the cover so they know if someone sells the game back to them it originally came from them. Another reason is because of stealing for example “ this grand theft auto game was mine I came in with it” having their logo printed onto the game proves it was from the shop. Game stop used to do this years ago with ps3 games. I personally love CEX I’m not a huge gamer but I have bought TVs and Consoles off them for half the original price and amazing quality.
bro it's just a cover, there are game stores out there who sell games with generic covers, at least they put on a CEX logo inside of the cover so you know.
You've brought a pre owned product so don't expect it be 100% correct regardless if it's from cex of where ever.
I work at cex currently. We do not pay for the case we pay for the game.
I agree with you! When you make a purchase, you want the real thing, not a fake. If a business is selling you a copy, they need to let their customers know that they're receiving a copy.
It’s a second hand store…
Cex did not offer a refund on a broken phone they had sold. Enough complaining about how they lied about their return policy and we got the refund.
I just bought a poster from CEX today and somehow I’m here
The problem is only the copyright owners of the artwork being reproduced have the legal power to stop this and they don't seem to bothered. For your average (modern gamer) this isn't a real problem which is why it's not thought of as a big thing.
Lastly .... Let your cash do the talking .... By your own admission, you are still buying from CEX and you ask why they are still doing this?
@steve gale Er ...... What the fuck? What's licensed you infantile dickhead? Are you saying CEX have licensed the artwork for reproduction? If that's right, you're wrong fucknuts. I happen to know they haven't. Other than that ..... Go back to school and make your parents proud of you for once.

CEX and other stores have a terms and conditions of sale available to read in the store. It states that some case art are reproductions. The ones that have a repro cover have the logo printed on the inside of it. It is the buyers responsibility to look for that massive clue as to whether it’s a genuine insert or not.
As for the price, if the going rate for a mint condition original is, say £60 and the local chain second hand store is selling them at £60, then it seems common sense that it’s probably over priced and therefore careful attention should be paid to the item before parting with the cash. This guy clearly shows that the case has the CEX logo inside. A serious collector would have taken the sleeve right out of the case to check its authenticity before paying.
There’s 2 consumer rights EVERY customer has.
1. The right to thoroughly inspect the merchandise before purchase.
2. The right to walk away.

If the disc is fine then there is no need not to trun the person away
@@VadersFist95 thats... less profit
That's fine to do re printed covers but Cex should sell the game for cheaper than an authentic one. And it should state on it that it is reprinted
@@Thefortniteproyx I wanna state that out of all the stores I’ve visited, if they’ve reprinted the cover, they’ve either put disclaimer on inside (as to not disrupt the cover art) or a yellow triangle in the corner stating it’s a reprint. In regards to the cost of the game, I can’t comment on that as I wouldn’t know why they don’t do that
Just want to clear something up as I've worked for the company...
So a few things I've seen in the comments are a bit buggy.
1: Firstly, yes the covers are reprints as a lot of cases get lost in store, the games are 100% real but we print out media covers and put them in boxes so that we can sell the disc. For a serious collector I understand how that is a pain but I'd recommend fully checking over any product you are to buy before doing so. Without media covers a lot of our stock would be unsellable as boxes get lost incredibly easily (and are, surprisingly, stolen very often even though they're all empty).
2: Scratched/broken discs and DVDs happen a lot, yes. Often new starters don't know what to look for when it comes to what's okay to buy in and what isn't or something is accidentally missed whilst being bought in. That's why we offer a 2 year warrantee so that if you do happen to purchase a broken disc, we clean it for you, replace it or you can have a refund to store credit (which is our policy - 2 day return for voucher as second hand trading laws are very different to first hand).
3: Yes, fakes do come up, again when someone isn't sure on what they're looking for (lack of training, new starter etc) but if a fake is found we will offer a full cash/card refund if a genuine copy isn't available to exchange with as it's our error and we legally shouldn't be selling anything fake.
4: I see a lot of people saying to go to Game instead - I have also worked for Game in the past and though theirs are more official than CeX's, if a box is unavailable to match a disc they will make up a box using media covers. CeX print their media covers themselves - it's cheaper and more efficient for us (hence why the logo is on the back and why I suggest you check in the future - we sometimes receive official overstock media covers but it's a rare occurrence) whereas Game are sent in their official media covers in weekly packages (very rarely their own logo is on the back if it's had to be self printed - depending on the store and budget they also print their own media covers so don't think of Game as a 100% safe zone).
And finally, 5: Yes, CeX will charge £15 on something you'll barely get £10 for to make a profit. Believe it or not, not a lot of money actually comes into the stores when it comes to buys. Unfortunately the products need to be retailed at a much higher price than what we buy them for otherwise the store won't manage. We tend to go about 20-50% depending on the value of the item (a rough estimate regarding the price differences between items I've bought in which I've then printed labels for and put out for sale). It's also probably worthy mentioning that all Corporate CeX stores receive their prices from a pricing team within the company who look into items and calculate how much each item buys/sells for. Unfortunately we don't decide the prices in store, that is all overrun by a completely different sector of the company.
At the end of the day CeX is a business and a businesses goal is to make money. If you don't wish to shop there then fair enough although it's wise to be clear on how the company actually functions and things to look out for before dissing them completely.
Quick edit, not every box has a media cover insert - only those in which the original box has been misplaced.
Pixie Riot selling a game with a repro cover at full price is illegal both in the U.K. & the U.S. you dumbfuck that's the reason why CEX no longer exists in the U.S.
@@thestardustgamer296 you're a dumb fuck bud.. go read the retail law and also 2nd hand retail law. Embargos are in place for normal retailers. CEX is exempt. *Sigh*...
"I know my rights" - actually.. you dont..
agree
well said
Fun fact: cex is pronounced sex
He doesn't want him mum in the other room to hear him say a naughty word.
They also have an employee festival every year called Cex Fest - and everything is free!
Rory lol that made me actually laugh out loud on the tube
Their free wifi is actually called unprotected cex
If he said that then it would get demonetised...
Who the fuck actually buys a game manual separate. Also is it really a big deal that it's not a real cover does it actually matter? NO
Its a pice of paper it is rare 😂😂😂
If he wants to re sell the game it makes it much more valuable
hes a collector tho?
Virgin collectors
He's buying rare games. The manual and cover add (a lot) of value
Completely disagree CeX are amazing I’ve made many purchases with them and every product is amazing
Ikr I bought a beautiful imac from them for £110 it works like a charm I MEAN £110 ITS SO CHEAP
I bought a graphics card and it works no problem, I saved about £70 buying from there
Wether you disagree or not. The fact is that's a scam. They're reprinting covers while selling them at normal, undamaged prices.
I’ve been scammed loads I bought a Wii classic controller pro and instead I got a Wii classic controller, I was told it wouldn’t happen again and then it happened again, also I ordered something and it never got delivered
Aizakku Analysis Hi there, I work at CeX. From what I’ve learned within the company, they tend to price things based on supply and demand. The reason why some games are so expensive (especially old gen games) is mainly because that’s the price they go for.
This has to be a joke😂😂😂
JAY-I why?
I know, it’s just a cover
Jon G no it’s his life lol
Sebastiano Brussato he was the type of kid that got bullied at school
most people who say that where themselves...
So hang on your a collector but didn't bother to check the cover? That sounds like a you problem
First thing i check is the cover
"Fakes"
Is it too much to ask to just enjoy the game?
If its "fake" why should he? God you kids today, you'll accept any goddamn shit when its not right won't ya! Fake junk shouldn't be out there on the market to begin with, you might want to address that factoid before defending any lame crap out there y'know.
Yes, you caught me I am actually 8 years old. You can obviously tell this by the fact that I care more about the actual game then the video game cover, shocking I know. Seriously? Why should he buy the game? To enjoy the game maybe? And to actually play it rather then admiring it on your shelf. I apologise for my immaturity about not having a temper tantrum about a box, I'll do it next time I buy a game from cex. Does that mean I'll be able to be mature like the rest of you?
Sarcasm aside, I get why he is pissed off but when you call a game 'fake' due to the cover art, it is taking it a bit too far tbh
Its his issue not ours, but having experience buying stuff from CEX i can kind of understand his position i'll admit. But yeah i wouldn't have made a video about it all though, i'll at least admit that much!
@Arakius • _ Oh, hello person replying to my 2 year old comment.
I expect nothing less from a company that's has a festival every year called "cexfest"
You need to get out more and get a life
Mark Burton i’m not joking its true look it up
RandomName Last Name I'm on about Cex fest you idiot.
RandomName Last Name what?
What's wrong with the festival?
I absolutely hate CEX, they used to be sound back in the PS2 days, now they give you nothing and mark the price up so much
SeumiseuTV - 스미스티비 Cex was the go to place back in the day. The price they paid for your stuff was fair. They must of just got too big and greedy
It's a company for profit, lkke every company ever, they're not going to take a loss for a customer are they
SeumiseuTV - 스미스티비 Still not as bad as Game...
I bought 5 games for £10 last week at CEX.
How about just check first
I used to be a collector (before i sold on a lot to give my children more things for themselves) and if a cover print is actually close i never had a problem. You could do it yourself with google and some glossy paper for your printer. Done. No need to be a wetbag, man.
It's not fake! The game itself is real. I understand why you are frustrated but their not scamming or anyone else.
It's not a fake GAME, it's a fake or 3rd party reprint cover art/sleeve.
Yes they are. If I buy a game, that isn't sold as a reproduction copy with some warning then I'm expecting a 100% genuine product. The case, manual, disc, inserts/leaflets & cover art needs to be original printing or a reprint by the official maker THEMSELVES, not CEX.
Is it that hard to understand how this works? Example.
I collect stamps. I buy stamps and one day I realise some I purchased were fake, but I paid a lot of money for them and didn't get the ones expected (for myself or to re-sell it does not matter) what would you do? Spend 200 and get the wrong product and tell me you won't complain at all.
but CEX can't offer what they don't have, if they were offered the game without the leaflet and without the cover art, what do you expect them to do
Mocks How about do what any other normal business does... Not take an incomplete or faulty product? If it doesn't have the original stuff don't take the game to sell.
pescod96
Jeez.
What crawled up your arse?
wierd horribble goths that plague society with their introvert behaviors that put people off engaging them. what crawled up your ass?
I got the exactly same game from cex and there was NO cex logo
lolking123456 you probably didn't because he bought it.
They only reprint lost or damaged sleeves
He's complaining from a collectors view not just a gamers. A collector receiving an inauthentic item is a problem. It's second hand sure but it's a company doing it, not a person. Making it illegal under copyright law (according to him. i can not confirm) and immoral. Had to restate this point seeing as half the complainers here didn't even watch the full video. He doesn't just want a game. He wants an authentic collectors item and fair enough i say.
LilyBizkit his issue is that he went to CEX for a collectors item.
The store buys in all its products, or products get traded from another store where it's been bought in there.
This is not the store you go to get the Collectors experience.
They are legally only selling the disc and nothing else.
The covers and cases are just placeholders because they don't always buy cases in with the discs
When you go into CEX, EVERY case on every shelf is empty. You take the case of the game you want to the counter and they find the disc for you on the back shelves and put it in the case you picked up.
I can understand someone not noticing that this is what happens in the transaction, but the store makes zero effort to hide this.
This isn't a store you go to pick up collectors items, it's where you get cheap discs from.
Source: I used to work there.
I'm aware of this but fair enough. both my and his arguments were based on it being illegal under copyright. If it's not then it's his fault, though i think they should advertise it if the item is known as a collectors item, which i assume the item is.
It's not illegal under copyright at all. CEX makes no claims that they're selling brand cases with their merchandise.
The fact that they have giant CEX stickers on the back of their printed covers, and the obvious lack of quality within the print itself says as much
It's completely legal and something you should expect at a resale store.
The only legitimate branding they have to add are BBFC stickers to display the age rating if it doesn't contain that on the cover already.
If a disc is fake, that's when you have a legal issue and you get a full refund for it.
i know... you've already said this in your first comment. i'm not arguing your points, if it wasn't clear
Dude, I can see where you're coming from, but....the game isn't fake....just the cover.
CEX should Mark the repro covers with a 'Repro Cover' Sticker.
BTW....CEX have to give you a full refund if the item "isn't as described"...that's the law.
If they refuse......contact Trading Standards 👍
But it WAS how they described it
@@CrAzYGAMINGWOLF no it wasn't. It was never mentioned that the cover was reprinted. They likely tried to sell to as complete in box. Which is a scam.
Aizakku Analysis
Shut up you idiot it’s in the terms and conditions that if a game cover is damaged they replace it with a reproduction cover
Im 100% sure you are the only person who is moaning
Call me jealous of your ability to overpay for overpriced rare games, but its collectors like yourself who are pushing up the retro prices for everyone else. Why why why pay £190 for frogger beyond? Its shit and your giving off about fake paper! I think the bigger problem is the number of youtube pratts doing showoff video's "Oh look at me and my expensive collection" really!
vorebiz well said mate! I collect games to play simply as that, have been doing so for about 30 years now. Don't care what my collection is worth today but i will be damned if i am gonna jump on the "buy it at any price" band wagon! What really got me about this post is, he says firstly that he normally buys the most expensive games for each system then works his way down! And secondly that he has gone back and bought further goods at Cex, even though they ripped him off! Like i said just cause you pay £190 for a game doesn't mean its worth £190, its just that you were stupid enough to follow the retro hype train. Example Panzer Dragoon Saga on the Sega Saturn lists on ebay for hundreds but who actually buys?
I remember when PS1 final fantasy games (VII through IX) were like 40 or 50 quid each a few years ago. Some of the boxed SNES mario goes up and down all the time as well.
The market is completely all over the place. The current moment in time definitely looks like a bubble. If anyone is buying a game for £190 because it's "rare" and they think it might be worth several times that in a few years then they're in the wrong hobby, as you say the games should be bought to be enjoyed ideally. If you want to collect-and-speculate almost any other collectable is better than this stuff, especially if you're paying ebay prices +20% at CEX.
vorebiz absolutely on the money with that view mate! I just get annoyed at the vast number of youtubers pushing prices through the roof. Collect for fun like the GameChasers or collect to play like MetalJesusRocks. The most i have payed recently was £42 for Metal Gear Twin Snakes on Gamecube, before that i picked up 3 collectors editions in a Game Store stock clearance. Mirrors edge big box collectors edition with statue, steelbook, tattoo and artbook £50, Mafia collectors edition with vinyl records, coasters, steelbook, artbook and season pass £45 and finally Doom collectors edition with steelbook and lightup statue £30. Would i have bought them at full retail not a F##king chance. So when i see these idiots buying Frogger Beyond at £190 i just despair. Ps i open every collectors edition i buy, i play the game, display the statues and i listen to the soundtracks.
Crypto World oh dear i must have touched a raw nerve. Judging by the likes on my comment seems us 45 to 50 year olds must have, oh what's it called "COMMON SENSE"
rafas reds, you beat me to it bud, took the words right outa my mout
I'm thinking this guy is trolling or hes just completely oblivious to how Cex works
Lol yeah
Just check the cover art before you buy game fs, i don't see why its such a big problem 😂
I bought halo 5 in cex open the box disc scratched didn’t work it was pre owned of course
Potato 797 what do you expect with second hand stuff if you buy second hand check condition of disk its common sense
colin kinch you are right it’s obviously not common sense as it’s not very common lol
No he shouldn't be expecting this, CEX have to and states in their policy they ONLY buy used games off people if they WORK. CEX are required to test the product in store before they buy it off the person trading it in.
okay but that is CEX's policy when your employing teenage staff or full grown goth men they dont give a fuck it only implies complications to sales they have to make adhere too or make. you sound like you've never worked anywhere or in a lot of places because almost anywhere i know of a business tend to have hidden productions of policy's which are only talked about through higher up staff which pass it off to the lower staff to create an easier target of sales or production. its no different in the 90%+ of cex stores that do this any i have went to always try selling off scratched or in some way broken items. 'working' and 'damaged' are 2 different things aswell.
Potato 797 sue the fuck out of them
You should spend all that money get in your eyes fixed
Mark Law mean
Loooooooooooooool
