This is by far far far my favorite scene of this whole series, as an aroace it means so incredibly much that i actually get some representation out in the world. I literally screamed and then cried when it came on, and it is just such a beautiful moment and such a beautiful way to describe the experience of an aroace person living in the modern world, I love Alice Oseman for her inclusion of this identity and this scene, and also CONAN GRAYYYY LIKE AROACE ANTHEM RIGHT THERE!!! It just made me so incredibly happy
Series 2 provided even more warm fuzzies than Series 1. As we learned more about the chosen family and they learned more about themselves. For a cast with so many first timers, the sheer quality of the performances are awesome. I think this says a lot about the talent of the performers, but also the quality of the writing and the source material. I know that we'll only have them for another series or two before they grow up and move on to other things. But I think Heartstopper is absolutely a seminal piece of LGBTQIA+ art, and I wish we'd had something like it as I was growing up. And to all the queer kids out there - the label that fits you best can and will change throughout your life. But it's yours. You don't owe it to anyone, it's a gift you give when *you* want to. And you don't even need to know which ones fit you to be part of the LGBTQIA+Community. You are loved. You are strong. You are amazing. ❤️🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️✊

I'm super protective of our younger LGBTQIA+ siblings and try to be as positive and uplifting as I can be (I'm a 90s Gay and there's no way we're going back to that crap again! 😁) But if I bump into a dickhead then they find out that every kind word has at least three put downs. 😉 😁 😂 But again, thank you for the compliment, I hope that the love of the gang is mirrored in your own life. ❤️
@EthanKristopherHartley oh kindness doesn't equal meekness in the face of cruelty. I'm a 90's bi with a trans daughter and I'm fiercely defensive and protective of our youth, too. And that comes from goodness. We HAVE to be their protectors. That is good and it is kind and it is never quiet. Never stop being that.
I love Issac! He is one of my favorite characters on the show. I am ACE and it took me until my 30's to realize that. Once I did, i didn't feel this pressure I had put on myself for so many milestones. A friend of mine actually mentioned it to me during a dinner and when she said it every thing clicked. I really loved the representation. Issac thought James was cute but he didn't feel the way he should have felt from the books he has read. That is ok.
vabxvsbxjsnd such a lovely moment as a demisexual/demiromantic I always felt like something was wrong with me for never having celebrity crushes or wanting s*xual things for so long. it's confusing and finding out there's a whole word and community for what you feel and that you're not alone is so freeing. I thought Isaac's journey in season 2 was incredible representation.
I had tears in my eyes at this scene. I'm not aromantic but I am asexual, and it's so rare to see asexuality and aromanticism on screen. I was so happy.
I don’t understand how Isaac only read books about romance yet has asexual feelings and thoughts. Also he did say in season 1 that « I wanna believe in romaaaance »
Heartstopper the book and heartstopper the series have been different since the first season came out. It’s not supposed to be the same because comics and TV are two different formats. There’s no use getting mad about it. They were never supposed to be the same.
Isaac doesn’t exist I’m the books, but Aled does. He’s different and the reason they didn’t include him is because he had a book about him that if he was added they’d have to include all that. But even Aled was asexual.

As a heartstopper and Conan fan, I screamed when I heard people watching and crush culture (crush culture was the PERFECT choice for this scene)
