This is still an early work in progress - don't mind the shading and collision issues, we're working on it.

I remember clearly when i first watched this, had like 200 views, and the first thing i said was ''This is something i will buy at day 1'' and so i did there was only the pick-up and the sedan. I was mesmerized on the mechanics.

@@lxnr1212 The D-Series got remastered a year ago, and its got some of the most extensive modifications in the game. I doubt there will be another D-Series update for a while. Unless they make an old D series with the Barstow engines., or an entirely new pickup with the Bastion engines.

For all the people coming in from recommended, BeamNG drive is probably the best collision based driving game to exist. They've progressed so much from the basic cryengine footage you've seen here. Absolute must buy.

Bro I don’t even crash most of the time just the super in depth drive train simulation, brake simulation suspension, ect makes it super fun to just drive around, off-road, or do some crawling.

This is the first BeamNG.drive video I ever watched, and as of now, January 25, 2019, is the second time I have ever watched this video. Back in Summer 2012 when I watched this video for the first time, I was amazed how realistic the first crash was. That's the only time a video game has impressed me that much. I remember when WhyBeAre had 15,000 subscribers, Insanegaz was the lead BeamNG.drive video uploader, and WhyBeAre was one of the first RUclipsrs to upload mod reviews.

Just look how far BeamNG.drive has come in these 7 years. With my new favourite map Italy and the sound update recently being released. But also just everything else. Incredible work. Also, at least to me, driving seems a lot better now, and you don't drift and lose control really easily anymore. Could also be ESC? I don't know. But I'm looking forward to seeing what the team has to bring in the future!

both affect CPU performance equally, as the CPU in most engines waits for the GPU to finish drawing what it told it to draw before running game code again.
And thus a legend was born!

This game is now rivaling simulators dedicated to trucking while still doing so much more. It's honestly incredible how much this game has progressed in just 11 years.

in a weird way its kind of emotional to see the progress made in the 8 years since this was uploaded. the biggest change in my opinion was when the cars went from all the same noise to having their own unique noises

Ah, this was the start of one of the coolest and most satisfying simulators ever made. I just got this game myself, and boy has it changed since this. But under the "hood" (see what I did there?) it's still the same concept: damage, cars, and fun.
only actual under the hood difference here is the default config is now the V8 versus the I6

When this came out 7 years ago I was a kid. I remember watching this video and being very excited, and then in 2013 or so playing the very very early version of beamNG, I was 13 years old then. I had so much fun playing it back then, even though there were just few cars and like 3 maps. Today, 7 years later I have my own car in real life, I'm 19 years old and I still play beamNG several times per week. It's honestly the best sandbox ever made, so much more for a car enthusiast. I can't say thank you enough to the amazing developers and the masterpiece they've made, and for still updating it so many years later. If I could buy it 100 times I would.

I remember I used to play rigs of rods on my mums laptop back in 2010 when I was about 7 and thinking "are they ever going to update this game?". 2 years later I see this trailer and I knew then, something game-changing was coming. 7 years later, here I am, 16 years old, and beamng is still changing the rules on what's technically possible in games today.

I think it may have been because they couldn't afford to keep the CryEngine licence.

It's 2024 June (almost 2025) BeamNG has become 3rd the most played game on steam, (more cars (workshop) more maps) and more realistic cars. the future of BeamNG is bright.

For those saying Next Car Game is better, spoiler... It's not... It's not even soft body, it just fakes it quite well, if you watch closely you can see that the car jumps from a stage of destruction to different one from a frame to another while BeamNG is trully dinamic ---> Behind the scenes of "Next Car Game": Car damage fun!
Actually its better that it has more debris and parts break in pieces , in beamng they only crush and there is less debris , but in terms of realism of the damage and how damage is applied etc beamng is better (and come on , in next car game the car gets through a crusher with its wells intact???)

Hasn't been on Cryengine for years. The game had to be moved to another engine because Crytek wouldn't let them modify the engine.
