In the early days of Northern Ireland, a lot of riot kit etc came from the Aden days. So much so that at one of the first riots, a cease and desist banner was deployed. The rioters took a look, started laughing and went on their way. When officer in charge looked to see what was so amusing, he saw the banner was in Arabic!
