Very interesting comparison of preamps. I personally have the Caveman bp1 This is heart and brain of mу pedalboard. To avoid the "bump" i don't push the gain over 3 o'clock . Play death metal and really love this preamp. Only 2 knobs helps start play my bass already with good tone, instead spend long time for play with couple of knobs to find good sound.🤘 This is true preamp and not di box with eq like have.
Nothing more frustrating than someone demoing gear with nothing but slapping :) THANK YOU for making making meaningful comparison and for the thoughtful comments. Nice Valenti :)
Really helpful! Appreciated the consistent "noodling". Nice sort of centrist bass playing and same on both pre amps. Also helpful was hearing the Oracle in a see what it can do way rather than a see how close it can get to a flip top sound with a bass with flats. It does that well of course but I was very glad to hear it do more modern/varied tones and to be demoed with rounds. A lot of voice baked into the Caveman. Reminds me of one setting on Avalon U5. Only thing I would have asked for is a demo rather than just mention of the tone of Caveman w gain pushed. Big thanks for running them together to simulate B15 into console channel. More $$ but more complete sound
Right on. The caveman never seems to clip with the gain goosed. However the caveman has a very hot output, so it can easily overdrive the tube in the Oracle.

Thanks! Nino makes wonderful basses
Micah @ Arkham really knows his gear, great guy to deal with!
He was very nice to deal with. Seems to be a standup guy & to know his stuff.
I agree, he was excellent to deal with. I'm very happy with my Oracle.
