Yeah pretty sure if you subjected to investigation a lot of people in chat or even in these comments pretending to be know-it-all about it, you'd find a bunch of them thought the Switch had a built-in microphone & an embarrassing number of those would _literally own a Switch_
The switch doesn't have such an input. Neither does the dock which everyone is using to stream. And most high end streamers are using XLR microphones plugged into a audio mixer. So its not surprising she just doesn't have a "Spare" USB microphone or an old one lying around.
According to the official website, "Some microphones are not compatible with this game, so we recommend using a Nintendo licensed microphone." Looks like most "HORI Karaoke" Microphones work and a couple other mics as well. Since their release date was about 2-3 months ago, they may be still seeing which mics are compatible 🤔
