  • Many aspiring writers dream of a successful TV show or streaming series, however, finding a clear path to achieve this goal can often be challenging, and requires the right guidance especially when it comes to writing that dramatic Pilot.
    In this session, writer and producer Dean Carpentier, will share strategies and inside tips on how to crack the one hour episodes for drama series and sell it for TV/streaming and market yourself as a writer, pitch a spec script, network with the right people, understand what showrunners look for in new writers and working your way up the ladder in the writer's room.

    DEAN CARPENTIER'S most recent work includes creating and writing the original hour-long series Pilot "Jubilee" for Sony Pictures TV (currently with 26th Street Pictures), Volume I of the graphic novel series, "Murdering Time" for Red Fox Films, and co-creating/writing a series adaptation of the Bradley Cooper film "Limitless" for Relativity TV; additionally, he wrote for the Warner Bros./ABC series "Forever." His digital content writing and producing includes numerous digital series, including the Telly Award-winning "Hot Mess" for HSTV, the Effie Award-winning "Appetite for Life with Andrew Zimmern" for MSN. He has ghostwritten over 60 narrative treatments for Directors at The Mill, RSA, MJZ, Mirada/Trailer Park and Anonymous Content.
