He felt both the addictiveness of applause and power. If you notice about halfway down the line of soldiers he looks back at their swords lowering and has the realization "they're doing this for me"
It wasn’t addictiveness or power that drew him, it was the fact that they loved him. In the carriage he asked his mother if she loved him, well he asked for a reason. Aegon has never been loved, from a child till now. (Which is probably why he is the way he is) His father supported Rhaenyra and never gave him the time of day, Alicent wasn’t the best mother, and Otto treated him as a pawn since his birth. He’s never full experienced love in the traditional sense that we all do with family so when he was crowned he heard the crowd cheer in his name. For once, he felt LOVED. accepted and cheered for. This is what will drive him moving forward.

As much as I love the politics in this show and Game of Thrones. Sometimes a quintessential fantasy scene of trumpets and a king getting crowned and holding up his sword is just so awesome.
I really enjoyed this composition. To start with you have the the fanfare, which set a the tone as being celebratory, that transitions immediately into the Hightower theme which sounds rather ominous. Finally, the conclusion is epically villainous. Really gives you a feel of how terrible Aegon will be as king.
Such an amazing show with an incredible soundtrack. This is one of the best sequences of season 1 in my opinion. It felt heroic and kingly at the same time no matter if people disagreed with this choice of heir. Can't wait for season 2. Sucks that it's two years away. It's been such a wild ride so far. Absolutely loved every episode. Get massive goosebumps from this OST.
Its reminiscent of the Dune soundtrack but not so prominent in the scene (since people are talking which is more important) as I recall. Hearing it now its amazing and really invokes the atmosphere well. O.O
In fact, Aegon is quite a tragic character. Viserys loved him only when he was very young, and then he became uninterested in him (as all children from Alicent even Helaena. He loved only Rhaenyra). He never wanted the throne, but Otto and Alicent forced him to wear the crown of Aegon the Conqueror (as in Viserys' dream). For the first time he sees love from the people. He is sincerely glad. In the books, he molested the maids, but never raped (unlike Tyrion, live with it). He wasn't a kind person, but by the end he became violent. A tragic character who never smiled again. In this scene, I really liked him as a character. I hope in the future showrunners will treat him fairly and not whitewash Rhaenyra. I support the Greens 💚. But in fact, both parties are terrible.
I love how it starts with a strong Hightower theme, showing hoy finally they got what they wanted… the throne. You can feel it as it imposes itself to the Targaryen’s theme. Which tries to maintain, as if it was a battle where the Hightower is winning. And it ends with a melody that shows not only power but absolute destruction as well. Y love how Ramin always puts a meaning behind every sound, every note, and most importantly, every theme combination. Is like a secret message revealing the story and how it will end.

The dragons roring as one is a reffrence to the civil war (the dance of the dragons) same as the splintering sheilds and ringing swords the rest is obviously about aegon. Vicerys saw it all he just interpreted the prophecy in a way that suited his deepest desire

She was never the legitimate heir anyway, since her claim goes directly against centuries of Westerosi tradition and laws. She basically usurped the throne because her dad named her heir in a moment of weakness and despair. Viserys is to blame for this entire catastrophe, that's why I'm team green
Since the Reacher houses are very closely tied - and the Hightowers very likely have Florent blood (especially Otto's side) - Team Green is basically Team Reynard, with Otto being in Reynard's paws deceiving the Blacks (King Noble the Lion - a dragon in the Westerosi version, most likely, and Isengrim the Wolf, as the Starks will join in with the Blacks later), and Alicent in Rukenawe the She-Ape's hands (or at least trying to be), trying to help her family survive.
