Different strokes for different folks. For me, the third album doesn't have the impact of either of the first two, BUT the first half of the third album is arguably the best of Chrvches yet. This track is a contender for their best track, most certainly.
I dunno, it is not grabbing me like the other two, but I am seriously impressed by some of the tracks. There seems to be ... dare I say it ... one or two *bad* tracks, that I cannot listen to (and I've tried). But only one or two. The rest are either amazing or good. Great work by Chrvches. And we shouldn't expect better and better from creative people, it's not realistic or fair on the artists.
I honestly feel like this album lacks a killer single... This "Graves" and "Graffiti" are good songs but not enough to carry an album... "Miracle" is also their worst song ever in their discography... It's a generic song, a direct attempt for US modern rock/alternative airplay... The kind of song Imagine Dragons release over and over unfortunately... None of the singles did it for me at least and that's why people ended up ignoring this whole album cycle... The 4 singles wouldn't even find themselves as b-sides to those released on BOWYBI... I was listening to that album yesterday and felt like they truly had it 5 years ago but the producers they hired destroyed them
Amazing. Never heard an original song or cover by Chvrches that I didn't adore. One of the most consistently wonderful bands I've ever heard both in terms of stellar musicianship and their superb lyrics which really convey meaning and emotion. Magical.
Not exactly sure what it is, but I just stumbled onto this song on Pandora while jogging today, and it shoots a fuckin lightning bolt of motivational energy through my body. Immediate favorite. Thank you, CHVRCHES, whoever you are 🙌❤️🤟
Tenho acompanhando grupos de synth pop desde a década de 80, acho que o Chvrches está no trilhos do mainstream mas ainda vão precisar se esforçar mais, sofrem do mesmo mal que outras bandas, albuns bem produzidos mas sem grandes hits, desse album novo pra mim salvou Never Say Die, muito bem feita, arranjos, refrão contagiante etc, por vez acho a voz dessa menina chata, muito teen, não são todas as músicas que ficam boas, eu achei que iam parar na Lies, me surpreenderam com Never Say Die, quando os produtores souberem adequar a voz dela a todas as músicas eles vão chegar no topo, mas ainda falta muito pra isso, tenho esperança nessa banda e no Hurts para salvar o synth pop, só lembrando que o Depeche Mode para chegar no topo com Music For The Masses sofreram com 5 discos antes deste, quem é mais velho e conhece synth pop desde 1980 sabe o que estou falando.....
Verdade cara, o vocal acho que é muito teen porque a música evolui né? A maioria das bandas indies hoje em dia soam teen pra mim, mas mesmo assim soam infinitamente superiores ao mainstream. Acredito que o problema não seja com os hits, mas com o gosto pessoal da massa que não estava muito na vibe Synth. Agora seria a hora deles entrarem no Mainstream, já que o Synth tá em alta. Mas acho que isso não vai acontecer, levando em consideração as últimas músicas lançadas :/
