It’s a sad reflection of the shifting of goalposts. It’s not a strategic or commercial issue as if there are brownie points to be earned or culled, but rather the loss of a national, state and social icon for so many who grew up with our forefathers scraping the bottom of every barrel for every penny they had earned for the sake of nation building and identity.
Perhaps, there should be a public call to reveal and good disclosures of how much CASH Bonuses and how many MILLIONS SGD, each of the senior Managers of NTUC would receive, either as special bonuses, shares options etc. etc. from the proposed Sale of the shares, if successful ...to ALLIANZ SE.
Say no to the aquisition. God bless our nation.
NTUC belong to union members, not private company, ask the members whether can sell, the one who suggest/propose must check carefully etc
Like him i feel very sad. Money is not everything. My parents left me valuable assets but i dont want to sell them even when prices are so high. This is household treasure. I even tell my children not to sell after i pass on.
If this passes through, hope those can make a switch to another insurer will not have to go through the health check to be accepted
I totally agree with Tommy Koh against the sale of Income, this will effect ordinary citizens lives.

How can an iconic national asset be sold to foreigner, the name NTUC income means so much to us,, it is like sia, etc, it is our national identity, with so much work done to build up NTUC,,,,
Imagine that what would happen If ping ang 平安 insurance company of china ,also owned by govt majority? Im sure any responsible govt would not permit to sell 51% .
Flash back to 2022 when ntuc changed its incorporative to company might already planned ahead for the sales.
