The older I get the more I appreciate the safety and simplicity of hunting from the ground. I keep saying that I am going quit using treestands all together but I can’t quite bring myself to do it yet. Maybe if I sink some money into a nice comfy seat it will finally seal the deal. 😄
They are both really cool chairs. For us on a budget, try the fold up step stool your wife uses for the high stuff in the pantry you bought her at Home D. Fold up nice and bungee or molle to your pack. Even a carpet remnant for added comfort can fit in your bag. Great video as always
I've had the original for a few years, and I agree that it's the best ground hunting chair I ever used. Plus, it doubles as a camp chair. I do like the lower profile of the Turkey chair. It should allow you to tuck into cover a little better.
Good look at the sizes of these 2 pieces of equipment. That Turkey chair I think would be the one for me. A little out of my price range at the moment though. Nate
Im 6'3 6'4. Jason, how tall are you? Itll give me an idea for which seat will be better for me. This piece of public im on has way more ground spot opportunities than trees. And im tired of not having a comfortable seat
I have had situations where I am not using my Pac Seat in stand alone mode but leaning against a tree and having to straddle a large root. Wondering if the Turkey Seat would be as good in that situation, seems the shorter legs would prevent that? Thanks for the great videos!
@jacob4047 great question and you won't be able to straddle as big of roots with the turkey seat. But the free standing often allows you to set up just off the root and the tree.
@justnguyen228 I do not as my hog hunting is spot and stalk. But I have buddies that do exactly as you are talking about. That way they can sit on hot sign for a bit and wait.

Yep I'd much rather hunt from the ground but not ready ro give up the stand yet either

Yep those work too
Great review! Turkey pacseat for me had both Love the Turkey pacseat and with your idea of the stand and seat is perfect setup.

@charlesgray372 yep didn't think I'd like the turkey seat. But it's actually my favorite as it gets me lower
I’ve got both. They’re both great but I found the turkey seat more comfortable and just as easy to shoot out of.
I like the turkey seat better too. But both are excellent
Great review, gonna have to check these chairs out.
@@DixieBowhunter-m5g you will love em
Whewww! Not sure about the turkey chair being I’m 6’4” 😂
I do absolutely LOVE my regular pac seat though. Awesome chair!
@@JBs-Trad4Critters yep might be a little low for you😂

@journeyman7189 yep both are amazing but tough choice between what size to get. Figured this video would make it more realistic to compare
Very happy with my original.
@@johnthearcher662 such a great chair
In your opinion, do you think it would be possible to carry out a gutted deer tied to the pack shelf?
@nicholasfinocchio2443 yes but I'd rather quarter it out or bone it out if laws allow. If I can't bone it out I'd use a jet sled

50yrs old now and my butt is starting to say NO to sits on the ground!!! A chair like the turkey chair might be the winner!!!

I think I would like sitting up a little taller, more comfortable for me at least
@@Coyote5555 pros and cons to both. But I bet many will prefer the original taller one. Especially taller guys
I picked the original because I don't cant my bow as much as you and didn't want to scrape the ground with a limb tip.
@@sarafayelawton652 good choice. You are going to love hunting out of it. This is gonna be a great season for you. New chair, new stand, etc!
Do u use these for hog hunting? Do u combine it with a normal backpack to carry gear?

Low to the ground is better in most any ground hunting scenario...
@Crayz919 agree if it accommodates your shooting style.
