  • Join me as I taking about the traditional blacksmith technique of forging scrolls.
Often used as a decorative element to larger, more architectural ironwork, the scroll is often seen as the quintessential blacksmith process.
I will be explaining what makes a good scroll, how to forge all different sizes, I will show you a few examples of how to incorporate them into smaller scale products, and then (as is often my motivation) I will be showing you how to make life easier for yourself with the use of a scrolling jig.
    Hope you enjoy!

Very good descriptive uses and methods. One of my first chores at school was building a scroll jig to match a scroll we had made. Interesting and fun. A great job on the video.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge and the information in your video👍. At this time i am an armchair blacksmith 😅. I was a mechanic/repair welder for years and I have all the tools I need. Next step is to get started.

Thank you for sharing. I have a few similar jigs that I made for a company I used to work for that made furniture for beauty salons. They are rather primitive, but they do work.

Appreciate it! Yeah, scroll jigs are so handy. The reason I don't use them is that I don't tend to incorporate scrolls into my product designs. But they're perfect for batch production

@@TomFellBlacksmithI have used them only one or two times in my smithing. Someone I know had an old iron railing that had scrolls in it and they needed some replacements. They worked for the job.
