- Tuna melt 🥪
Ingredients:
- 8 slices of sourdough
- 500g (17.6 oz) can of tuna in spring water, drained
- 2 spring onions, finely sliced
- 1 large stalk of celery, diced
- 4 dill pickles, diced
- small bunch of dill, finely chopped
- salt and pepper to taste
- 120g (4.2 oz) mayonnaise
- 3 balls of mozzarella, sliced 1cm thick
- 2 tbsp butter
Method:
1. For the tuna mayo mixture, combine the tuna, spring onions, celery, pickles, dill, and mayonnaise in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper.
2. Prepare the melt by spreading the tuna mixture onto one slice of bread. Layer the mozzarella slices on top, and then top with another slice of bread.
3. In a frying pan over medium-low heat, toast the melt in butter for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until both sides have a nice golden colour.
4. Serve and enjoy!

Sorry Andy but we need more Melt on that Tuna Melt
i think the cheese portion was already good, it's more because he didn't press it so the cheese didn't have time to melt
@@way9883 exactly, we need more melt, I never said we need more cheese
@@way9883 Also the best method to cook grilled cheese is yes either the press, but what I personally prefer is cooking with a smaller frying pan and then using either a baking sheet or a bigger pan to cover the top of the small frying pan to create a literal oven affect and melt the cheese even faster
Andy needs to do better
@@patrick4411 is this babe?
Fantastic rendition of the classic Tuna Unmelt, can we get the Tuna Melt please next? 😁
Gordon Ramsey would be proud except Andy doesn’t cuss scream out his employees.
😂😂
Looking forward to the do-over video…
Homeboy is going to get roasted for this atrocity
I didn’t even watch this entirely before reading your comment. It made me laugh 😂 thank you!
Facts
Where's the melt?
😂😂😂
Andy has pulled a "Gordon Ramsay" with that thick bread and unmelted cheese
You can tell how disappointed he was with pull, the cut was so fast 😂
I had flashbacks to Gordon Ramsay's melted cheese sandwich
Cheese pulls are done by putting tonnes of cheese in a sandwich.
@@uioplkhj thats not a lot of cheese for you? thats like centimeter wide cut mozz x5 slices, an entire ball! thats how much I use on a 12 inch pizza!
@@westonhood6277 The "cheese pull" you see on RUclips is fake.
i don't even know what to say to that
I’m sending this one back
Chef😂
😂😂👏👏
Chicken pot pie!!!!!! Literally the only thing I have been craving the last few weeks
I know if cheating, but I use crescent rolls out of the can for my crust when I make these and it’s sooo good
@@tomtools5318any research would show you they are a horrible "food". They should not even be marketed. Horrible!
Awesome. I bulk my tuna out with everything. I would also add red pepper, red onion and picked jalapeños.
Oh dear, I think Friso might be sending that one back 🤣 You could tell the cheese wasn't melted, I doubt the tuna was even warm.
That's what you get for that insanely thick bread that nobody ever wanted.
I personally don't like warm tuna with mayo, so I just make a grilled cheese and add the chilled tuna salad lol.
@@nichevo1 Broiler looking at him like: 😔
I’ve never eaten warm Tuna before. Is it a thing?
@@yaroubthayer-752 It's really popular in Japan and the Western countries. It's just like chicken, though usually it's more cooked than this chef prepared it to be.
Imagine, shredded chicken-like meat with melted cheese and crispy bread. This, is the tuna melt we all love so deeply.
I prefer open face tuna melts, but this looked pretty delicious(although I would prefer to steam it a bit to melt the cheese more). For my tuna melts I’ll mix tuna, mayonnaise, mustard, diced pickles, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic and onion powder, celery salt, and shredded cheese. Brush olive oil on both sides of the bread(fully covered but not soaked), then scoop the tuna mix onto the bread. I put more cheese on top then put it in the oven at about 350-375 Fahrenheit until the cheese is melted and the bottom is nice and golden brown(about 15-25 minutes depending on bread thickness and amount of tuna mix per slice). The cheese mixed in is a game changer if you’ve never tried it!
Celery salt for sure, raw celery is atrocious bad and completely destroys the texture.
❤ yum
That cheese pull was very anticlimactic 😂
most cheese pulls in ads in youtube are fake
Yep, as maxi says, cheese pulls are fake
But that cheese was still cold i guess, since it was still solid.
@@The_Intergalactic_Academy yep, but even if had been properly melted I wouldn't want him to fake the cheese pull
@@Scubadoopernooo he never fake it and I love that about him. :)
Tuna melt... mmmmmm 😊
This is going up there with the ramsay grilled cheese
Yeah bro fully unmelted no cheese pull
That's how the real thing is, when you see melted glue-level cheese it's a fake just for the camera.
@@lastguest doesn't matter, it needs more melt
@@lastguestlol is it really that unbelievable to you that a cheese pull can exist. There are ways to do it. U can stick it in an oven or air fryer for like 2 minutes, or you can grate the cheese or you can get different kinds of cheese that melt easier, etc. There are tons of ways my guy.
The cheese is not the point 😂, the point is that this is not a tuna melt, because the tuna was never toasted. 😂
Yum!
Love a good tuna melt with some dijon and creamy horseradish mixed in. Takes it to the next level!!
Sounds fye
Damnnn..That sounds like a fkin delicious idea..I have some boarshead dijon/horseradish spread. I'm definitely gonna try that next time.. Thx you random internet person!
Yeah, I’ll go with a thinner bread and maybe some cheddar or Swiss instead please (if I’m making it for myself I might give it a smear of mustard before melting it open face and topping that with bit of coleslaw before I close it.. yum!
If I was to quibble, I would have said that the bread was a little too thick to let the mozzarella melt. For all that, Andy took it a lot further than i would have down the "browned" route, so I figure he knew that.
Not quibbling at all, that was half a loaf!
@@DeeMan17 Ever seen the Gordon Ramsay grilled cheese? Even worse than this. There's obviously a blind spot there, somewhere.
@@12345kermie the infamous cauliflower grilled cheese.
I use a lid for the last minute or two to simulate the oven and get the cheese all melty.
Yummy 😋 yummy 😋
That bread🤤
Dude can literally cook his ass off 👌🏼 🫡 🧑🍳 💯 💯 💪🏾👊🏾
Your tuna melt needed cheddar cheese or yellow American! Great flavor and melts so nicely. Maybe also a tomato on there. Wait, am I doing this today?😂
Cheddar doesn’t pull mate😂
Tomato 🤢🤮
@@doubletapthatdotty4597what sort of cheddar are you eating? Real cheddar definitely pulls. Maybe not as dramatically as mozzarella, but it still pulls like a dream. It also has a lot more flavour and is more complimentary with the tuna
@@archaicresonance4927 real cheddar? From cheddar gorge in England? It doesn’t pull. It’s a dry crumbly almost crunchy texture. American cheddar isn’t real Cheddar
@doubletapthatdotty4597 I'm well aware of that, being from England myself. But are you aware that when you melt cheddar, it loses its dry and crumbly properties? Incredible, I know!
Yuummmm, now I'm hungry for a tuna melt! Love your choice of bread! 😊
Bulgarian Banitsa for Nick, please ❤
As a fellow Nick, I second this
Loved my baby's tuna melts. In fact I loved all his cooking. He passed away on July 5 of this year.
I'm sorry for your lose. ♡
Giving Gordon Ramsay competition on unmelted cheese sandwiches.
Gordon Ramsay wouldn’t have used canned tuna.
@@Scrantonicity2yes he would. Theres some things that are just necessary. Fresh tuna wouldnt make it taste right.
Love tuna. Thanks for this!
Andy didn't get the melt memo. Send it back, we want it done again!
That looks soooo good! 👍
Nigerian beef tomato stew and white rice with fried plantains please 🙏
Never have I seen such an amazing tuna melt 👌👌👌
But where's the "melt" part?
Duck adobo sa gata❤️

this looks yummy i will give it a try
Uncle Andy relegated to Nephew Andy for that lack of melt/ cheese pull
That look so good 🤤
I love that Andy has been pretty excellent with absolutely everything but fails to melt cheese on a Tuna Melt.
Its OK, we'll forgive you this time.
That looks fabulous
Is that...metal spatula on nonstick?!😮 hope it's carbon steel 😅 otherwise great video❤
That looks delicious
Chicken soup with bitter melon and pineapple, thank you Chef Andy😊
I keep telling people about this ... 🤤 it s the best
That’s my favorite sandwich!
Tuna melts should be open faced Andy! Get that cheese nice and golden and bubbly
Man you're a pro chef and this is pretty easy, gotta use fresh made mayo.
Yes chef " and moves with a purpose. Outstanding .
That looked so good 😊
Yum that looks delicious 😍I might be able to do that 👍🏽👌🔥🔥🔥😋
OMG that looks so good!! But I like American cheese...you might have just helped me decide what I want for dinner!
As braw as that looks, I bet that many of my fellow Scots will agree that a tuna piece or tuna melt is best made on slices of a "Scottish Plain Loaf" It only has crusts on the top & bottom, & the waxed paper bag it comes in is ideal as a "piece bag" for taking to school/work...Or indeed to be thrown oot the windie to the bairn below!
Looking delicious will make tomorrow
Need to do some shopping first.
Thanks for asking and for sharing.
Blessings
Man, that looks good!
Oh. How tasty looks like. I am gonna make me one and post it too. 😻
That sound of the first bite was amazing!

Yum!!! Evet tried capers in a tuna melt? I like the zing they bring.
That crunch is everything!❤
Reuben sandwich! My favorite 😍
Looking forward when I make it my way... Thank you for beautiful ideas ❤👍✌️🤟🙏🙏🙏👨🍳👨🍳👨🍳👨🍳👨🍳😊
Mmmm looks amazing I'll be making this recipe yummy Thank you chef Andy 😋😋😋😋😋
Can you please make babotie next thx
Would recommend covering the sandwich when you sear It, helps retain heat to warm the tuna and cheese before your bread is overdone.
I could so go for one of these right now.
I wish I could find such amazing bread here in Germany. And I know what my fellows over here would say "hey, we do have it over here", "just don't buy the shit from the super markets and you'll be happy",... yeah, doesn't help if there's no bakery around that serves such amazing bread or if it would be super expensive.
That bread 😍!
Mozzarella on a tuna melt sounds 🔥!!
Fesenjoon is my favorite dish
I’m Ghazaleh from iran 🇮🇷

Merry Christmas from Texas ❤️ Andy! That looks so good and I bet if I had every ingredient in my kitchen, it wouldn't taste nearly like yours! Ha😢
Yummy
Yumm!!! My favourite ❤️
A lot better than what we had in school.

Love pastitsio, lovely Greek casserole the whole fam loves: the pasta layer, the meat layer, the bechamel for that creamy ties it together layer- I would love to see your take on it, Andy! 💋
wicked good mate
Thank you! It's my turn to make dinner tonight!
OHHHH BAROOOOOOOOO😮😊😊😊😊😊😊
Looks banging Andy but that cheese needs to melt! Personally have found a lid on the pan on a lower heat definitely needed as you just don’t get enough heat through it - or some time in the oven or a sandwich press
Even with some celery I would try it.
Please could you prepare a classic pot au feu for Adrien.
That looks so good 🤤
Love a tuna melt!
Like it quick and simply delicious 😊😊
Honestly, I never thought of adding pickles and dill but I will try it after watching this video.
